“Sleeptalk” by far, The best album I’ve heard in years. These guys are so talented. If you like this kind of music, you absolutely have to listen to this whole album. Not one bad song on it. Dayseeker really hit this one out of the park and the title track is so damn good. Omg, I’m just gushing, great stuff, can’t wait to hear more from these guys.
I grew up with these guys in OC California. I even briefly worked with the bassist ramon at a coffee shop. Even the girls in the music video are from the orange/ Fullerton area lol. Good guys. Rory has always been this talented
Your interpretation of the song and lyrics was incredibly perceptive on first listen. It took me 30 listens to realize what you did in this video. I'm impressed.
Sydney fan here , they are such an incredible under rated band. I feel like I relate to this song and the whole sleepwalk album. Amazing !! I first heard this band in the beginning of 2019
@@Roguenjosh did I steer you wrong though, Your music taste is similar to mine so I had a feeling you'd like these. They have some awesome heavier stuff too, only problem is not many have music videos. Crooked soul next I'd say :)
The line about being a disease doesn’t mean he is literally causing of all issues in this relationship - it simply means that this is the way he feels about himself. After all his contemplation, he is left with the thought that it’s all his fault. Maybe this is the same thought the girl has about herself, we don’t know. The lyrics wouldn’t come out that nice if it went “we both just feel like diseases to one another.” Just because he says everything is his fault doesn’t mean it’s the case. To the contrary, this line signifies that his main issue is his lack of belief in his inherent value to the other person. Again, maybe she feels the same. We don’t really know because that would be a weird line to write. But that doesn’t undermine the song at all, it actually adds depth and complexity bruh.
You should for sure check out this entire album. Banger front to back and the whole album is about the lead singers relationship with one of his exes. Helped me get through rough patches with my relationship. Whole album is amazing, one of my favorite albums of all time
He does make references to that movie in a few songs! So awesome! I've had the joy of seeing them live about 4 years ago and met Rory too who is just an amazing and wonderful individual. They are incredibly underrated. So glad you listen to them.
The singer is making another "project" with a band member I think. It called Hurtwave. The style is different from this, but still really cool and catchy. You should listen to "Bleach" or "Sever"
I think the disease line works in many different ways, IMO: - Diseases are infectious, which could refer to having an infectious personality. - Diseases get "under people's skin", as they typically live inside a person's body, which would illustrate their familiarity with each other only causing harm because they know how best to hurt each other. - The obvious, where diseases cause damage over time. - Diseases can usually be cured, but sometimes chronic diseases can come back, and if your immune system hasn't recovered, the situation can be more serious than when you first got it. Sort of like how every time they get back together, the relationship just gets worse and worse. I'm kind of reaching, I think, but there are a lot of ways to read that line that aren't the typical melodramatic self-loathing.
@@Roguenjosh same here man! And oh hey, once you listen to some more dayseeker, theres a new track by the lead singer of The Plot In You's solo project (Landon Tewers) with the lead singer of Dayseeker (Rory Rodriguez) and its an absolute banger too!
My Guy. You have to do Crooked Soul or Vultures next, absolute belters. Vultures is probably best to see their other side. Sleeptalk is a complete 180 compared to that one

burial plot and starving to be empty have to be my favorites on the album. they’re so good.

So sick!
This whole album is sooo good
Awesome band, I'm so glad you've checked them out! Definitely check out some more from this band!
LOVED this review, your enthusiasm is infectious, just found this song a few days ago and it hits me so hard, its so relatable
Thanks so much legend!

This review is soooo good
There's so many suggestions already, but I think that The Color Black will be right up your alley.
Nice, thanks Peter!
Sub'd because of this review!
Thanks so much Michael!
I love this song

Lyrically this song reminds me of one of my favorite movies "Eternal Sunshine of The Spotless Mind"

Rory Rodriguez has a separate project under the band name: HURTWAVE
Go check it out.
Here’s a song to react to:
HURTWAVE: Sever
You’re welcome 😉
This right here!! Hurtwave is my absolute jam but honestly Rory Rodriguez could sing me any thing.
@@gardnerf2 he’s kinda sus but yes, he’s a great singer 😅😂
@@bb3283 I'd do gay things with rory. Honestly. Lmao
@@charlesk7687 it’s only gay if someone smiles :)
These guys are one of the best bands I’ve ever heard. It’s a fucking shame they’re not more heard.
I forgot to mention. If you do want to him scream probably best to do vultures next, raw emotion in that song!

What's your opinion on it? I just got into this band, and have only heard everything from Sleeptalk and up
Definitely check out Vultures, really emphasises their heavier side and Rory’s vocal abilities 👌🏻
burial plot by dayseeker is a masterpiece my friend
Drunk is the best song off that album
Well I gotta hear that then!
U drunk lol. “Drunk” is prob the 5th best on the album. Sleeptalk>Already Numb>Burial Plot>The Color Black> Drunk
@@bb3283 crooked soul?
@@OregonTheWise 6th lol
Yeah I gotta agree. Sleeptalk and Burial Plot are top no contest lol.
This is my favourite song from Dayseeker
It’s huge!

Just so everyone knows the vocalist and the drummer made a duo band called hurtwave if anyone is interested
Oh nice
What is the song playing in the background at the end of this video? What band is that?
Damn this song is an unexpected banger
Yeah cool chorus hey!
Check out The Color Black by them as well.
Yo man you gotta check out these songs by them:
Vultures
Six Feet Under
Drunk
Crooked Soul
Burial Plot
The Color Black
This is why I love finding new bands
@@Roguenjosh same here man! And oh hey, once you listen to some more dayseeker, theres a new track by the lead singer of The Plot In You's solo project (Landon Tewers) with the lead singer of Dayseeker (Rory Rodriguez) and its an absolute banger too!

Very interesting! Love to see their full range
You need to do Burial Plot too!!
You'd love the new Jonny Craig single + music video U.S.S. Regret!!!
Yeah I need to get onto that!
Burial plot from the same album 🔥🔥🔥
Now listen to Sever by Hurtwave. Same vocalist. Rory is incredible
Please do Bleach by Hurtwave Rory Rodriguez is the lead singer of this side project and it’s phenomenal
react to Crooked Soul by them, please!
listen too the broken view
start over
THATS RIGTH
OpTic Dayseeker
i love this, but imagine Johnny Craig on this....
The only thing i dont like about these reaction songs is they speak during the song or pause it instead of waiting till its over to talk about it
Epic. Jesus Christ loves you btw
Great song, but it really doesn’t represent their actual sound (so far, cause it’s still their most recent album)
Autotune and pitch correction all over the place...
