It's also weird that people are comparing this character to Ripley from Alien and Sarah Connor from Terminator when she isn't even in their league

People don't notice but when the Predator shoots Arnold his plasma shot hits Dutch's M16 and completely destroys it. The shrapnel from the weapon being blown to pieces is what gives Dutch that cut on his shoulder.
21:00 I used to be confused about this too, but if you slow the shot down, you can see that the plasma caster hits Dutch's gun and blows it apart, so in theory, the blast lost a lot of energy before hitting Dutch in his bicep/shoulder.
The plasma shot didn't hit Arnold's arm. The shot hit his weapon destroying it and a piece of it cut into his arm.
I agree with that the brother and sister take the predator out together
So much yes, the brothers fight with the predator was one of my favourite parts of the movie..was pissed that he didn't make it too.
The critical drinker is Scottish. Scottish and Irish are basically traced back to the same people the Gails. Which is why before they spoke English they spoke the same language Gailic and some people in both country’s still speak it.
The Samurai vs the Predators would be pretty epic. Have Hiroyuki Sanada aka Ujio from the Last Samurai in it. Them vs the Aztecs would be a good one too because of that scene they show in AVP.
Yeah, killing the brother didn't add anything to the movie.. Or boost her up.. Didn't have to kill him... Maybe knock him out, or whatever, but it would have added more to the end if he was there to see her get honored because he was her biggest champion.
Dunno why Predator 2 gets so much hate... Honestly for me it's almost as good as first one and definately one of the best sequals.
Those ideas with Predator facing different societies like Vikings or Samurai sounds like it would be amazing.

I understand this predator is from a different part of their homeworld, it’s skinnier then the other ones we have seen. I also had read that these ones by predator standards are a little more animalistic. I don’t think this predator is the same one that beat up the other predator, I think they are separate.

I agree about seeing a predator win. The whole premise of the movies is that the predator in each movie is going through their equivalent of a rite of passage for their species, but they obviously fail in the end. What about the ones like that group of them at end of the second movie? They clearly passed the test, and completed the rite of passage, can't we get a movie about them?
Plasma caster in Predator 1987 BLASTED Arnies modified m16 w/m249 grenade launcher attachment in half.. this was the "reason" Arnie wasnr killed and his arm was charred from the hit.
Still sus, but that's the reason. In the book the Predator didn't want to end Arnie right away anyhow.

Well I’ve seen plenty of people say they’d like a predator movie for the predator to win and I agree. I was thinking of this girls story of being a rookie and gettin her stripes with her first hunt taking down a hunter. And I was just thinking, that story would be cooler on the predator. Imagine seeing a rookie predator go through like an initation ritual and go to earth for its first hunt. It wouldn’t be as deadly cause it would be a noob. Like imagine this noob taking on Jack the Ripper in London or something. Or some predator finatic studying the race finds it and essentially shows them some sort of psychopath or assasin to go after. So for his first hunt he takes down one of the deadliness killers on earth.
In the first predator when Arnold gets shot with the plasma cannon if you look close the predator actually blows the gun up and that causes Arnold to jump back

A movie of Greyback and Raphael (pirate) would be amazing.
Raphael ends up dying anyways due to his mutinous crew, and I believe Greyback goes and slaughters them.

Whatever the personal reasons people might have for disliking or liking this movie, one things for sure I've never heard so much general buzz and love for a predetor movie since the first one. It has breathed life into a franchise that even the modern alien movie or terminator movies couldnt do. It was an ok movie, I loved the setting and cinematography. Definitely below Predator 1&2. If the did something like with knights or against shoguns/ninjas with that type of cinematography I’d be happy to watch.

Since they're both owned by Disney (though this might have changed) would like to see a Predator/Conan movie. If you wanted Predator to win, have them have to team up to escape an evil kingdom that imprisoned them as gladiators. Silly but could still be fun.

If you want to see a Mountain Man Native American Woman movie done Right Jeremiah Johnson with Robert Redford. He goes out hunting in a scene and she gathers food by the stream and also sneaks up on a pheasant with a rock and bags it for the pot. He comes back to camp with his gun and no game. She out did him. Great scene.

I agree with what Tyrone said about this movie. The predator and the dog I loved but everything else I feel people are just over the top about. I liked predator 2 more than 1 but Prey isn’t better than both. And I liked Requiem more than Prey. But Prey was good, especially being a free movie on Hulu. You could have gotten people to pay for Prey.

Arnold didn't get shot in the arm by the Predator's cannon. It hits his gun and chops it in half. That scene was just edited poorly. If you look, it hits his gun.
Pumas are just Cougars but still they are mountain lions. I am surprised people don't know that, unless they are not familiar with animals in that region of North America
My nostalgia is what makes me love part 2. Show it to a teenager now I can see that it don't age well. I think prey is the 3rd in my order. I also don't consider AVP either an alien or predator movie.

Hi tyrone i understand what your saying about dutch being a bit of gary sue when predator shot him and he's barely effected by the blast. But what a lot of people miss is that the predator didn't shoot dutch the predator shot he's gun and shrapnel from the gun exploding is why he's bleeding. If you rewatch it you can see the gun is in pieces when he is down screaming get to the chopper.

The end fight scene was horrible in my opinion along with several other scenes
I always wanted someone show the homeworld, the culture and the civilization of the predator aka yautja. I know they all badassery and savagery in hunting their preys, but all those technology they carry and the spaceship, surely theres some educated scientist type predator who invest in research and developments instead just kill, kill, kill, i wonder what those might look like. I have an idea, how about the brought the best of the best human warrior to their homeworld, not their hunting resort, i mean their homeworld, where the predator chill in their villas after every hunt. My take is, its about time the direction should take a turn and focus on the predator itself and their world, like how many subspecies of predator are there, the hirearchy among them, or they are the same but different in culture that sort of stuffs

The predator in the movie is a sub species of the predators (yautja) know as the berserker or super predator the movie before this is not cannon but the big predator is called the upgrade predator

Everything I've read online has said the Predator's look in Prey was just creative liberty. It doesn't seem like they were trying to have the Feral Predator be a Super Predator like the Berserker, Tracker, and Falconer Predators from Predators (2010). It seems this movie sort've ignored or at least neglected the genertic engineering plot established in Predators and The Predator.
From what I've read, it seems like they just wanted to have the Predator look "more Alien" and have a more bizarre face reveal, and so they just took some liberty with the look of the Predator.
Once I saw drinker dropped the video I knew Tyrone would too couldn't wait lol 😅😅😅

14:20 as much as i agree those settings would be nice in the end the plot will always be the same and in the end nonsensical which the predator movies have been from the start... the only movie we actually need is where the predator wins, other than that it will always pan out in the same way and make no sense that humans win against some alien that has developed intergalactic travel amongst other high tech therefore meaning its intelligent and either on par or smarter than humans (which also makes little sense because they always get defeated by someway being outsmarted...)

Love your reviews and reactions! Very entertaining. I'm with you in wanting to see the Predator up against other warriors of history. But wouldn't it be killer to see the Predator with it's own anime series or maybe from the studio that did Castlevania...put the Predator in different short episodes where they battle different warriors from different cultures and eras. Predator wins some...Predator might lose some. Hell, give us an AvP anime! I'd be down. A Predator animated series would be baller!

Arnold is not a gary sue he was a trained special force , he also struggle with the predator till the end , plus the shoulder gun can ton down his power from the big hole in jessie, to the arm blow off or head hole , the holes and impact got weaker , i think the predator just wanted to kill arnold hand to hand and ton down the power of the shoulder gun just to wound his arm that his gun flys away and he can fight him without weapons like he did at the end
