- We took the Ram TRX through it's paces to see how well it performs in the rough.
Engine Adventures strives to explore and test the AWD and 4WD systems of all crossovers, SUVs, and pickup trucks. To do this we test vehicles in real world environments in a way that allows viewers to cross shop and explore any vehicle they may be interested in learning about.
New videos every Saturday at 6:30 A.M. MST and occasionally on Wednesdays.
This may be the first time I’ve been more excited about the high-speed dirt road run than the off-road crawling part of the video.
The day we took it to the sand dunes, we took dirt roads as much as we could to get out there. It was super windy and pretty cold so I didn't kick out the passengers so I could film. I think the raptor does just a little better over the biggest bumps because it's much lighter up front, but the power and sheer driving joy of the TRX is unmatched. That said it's a weekend toy, and probably not something I would want to daily drive.
Me likey! Going to the store to get a lottery ticket right now
You make it look easy, great work!!
Thanks for watching and for the support!
Now this is what I was waiting for 😍🔥💯💪🏾✊🏾😭
Glad you enjoyed it, thanks for watching!
Perfect 👌
Love your reviews! Great job!! TRX sits atop my list of next truck.
Thanks for supporting the channel! The TRX is a monster and I do miss it at times!
Great video! And to think it will haul and beat most sports cars on the street. Pretty insane. Loving my TRX
Glad you enjoy your new truck!
One of my favourite trucks!🔥
It's certainly a fun one drive drive!
Such a great review… my Rebel on that road I’d have to be wearing a helmet and six point harness to go as fast as the tRX… that is if my Rebel doesn’t fall apart from getting beat. Cannot wait to buy my TRX
Thanks for watching and for the support! The TRX is certainly a very fun truck!
Wow, what an amazing truck! Off Road technology has come a long way since the old Chevy Suburban days :)
Haha, that thing had so much play in the frame that the articulation was actually not to bad! Pretty sure that's what started my love of large SUVs and trucks!
How could you dislike this video it's awesome review awesome truck 👊
Thanks for the support!
@@EngineAdventures you're welcome god bless👊
Probably Ford raptor owners
Long have I waited for this.
I hope I delivered!
@@EngineAdventures video was great. Only suggestion I have is to set up a camera somewhere along the high speed section so you can get an outside view of the truck at large.
Thanks!
Great videos as always! Keep it up!
Thanks for watching!
Great that you show the dash and cockpit view, so we can see the exact settings you use (besides your excellent description) 👍
What do you prefer:
1. Outside being the bigger image with the inside being the small one
2. Inside being the bigger image with the outside being the small one
3. Show the inside first then the outside, both being full screen
@@EngineAdventures Thanks for asking! I believe the 3rd option is the best!
3 would give the best view of both, but make the videos a little longer. I'm ok with longer videos though, and I think it will be more informative that way. Thanks for answering!
@@EngineAdventures exactly, longer videos will contain more information, and since your are an expert in traction systems, this will be better for the interested viewers.
I don't know if I'm an expert, but I do my best!
Thanks for covering the crawling features
Thank you for watching!
And that’s why you get PPF 😆 awesome content thanks
Haha thanks for watching. Sand blasting the paint probably isn't the best idea!
Great Video! What are those rock rails?
Thanks for watching! They are the Mopar rock rails.
Good video but why dnt u turn off traction control when your 4 wheelin?
It depends on a lot of factors. Yes I normally prefer to have traction control off, and my daily drive doesn't have traction control or stability control. The drive modes change the amount of intervention the computer can make, so in a way switching this truck into Baja Mode all but disables traction control.
@@EngineAdventures aaah ok, on my 2016 ram, when i put it on 4wd lock, i have to turn the traction control all the way off so my front wheels could fully lock so i thought they would be the same
Love your video bro can you do more like this video 😍🔥
Thanks for the support! Have you seen my other videos? Most are similar to this.
@@EngineAdventures not yet 😅
Well done review.
Thanks for the support!
Please can we see a Kia Sorento xline 2021 off road test
I should be getting one of those tomorrow, video won't be up for a while though
Nice! What mode were you in for high speed drive?
Thanks! I believe baja mode, which I will talk a little more about in the next video.
This truck is such a beast. But certainly it’s the only half ton truck that gets worse mileage than my Tundra 😂 But wow. It’d be worth it.
It is a crazy truck for sure!
Dislikes are raptor owners
Was you flex shot at Little Moab?
Yup
Is it a climber or a jumper?
Why not both? It's a little wide for many really tough trails, but still extremely capable.
where do you film these
In Utah on the east benches of Utah County. Occasionally elsewhere, but that's the main area.
@@EngineAdventures man I knew it looked familiar I’m from there
Where did you test drive the truck? The terrain looks amazing, anyways great video
Various parts of Utah, it can be a very beautiful place! Thanks for the support!
Fuck I wish I had money this is a beautiful amazing truck! I just got my first truck a 2001 F150 XLT 4x4 and I’m going to be trying to make it more off-road worthy
It's a nice truck, but I almost found it to be too much. If you work on your truck a little, add a decent suspension and some traction aids, and you'll be able to go just about anywhere this can go.
What road are you on??
Just a short road in the foothills above Springville
@@EngineAdventures up in Hobble Creek area? I live in Mapleton, need to find this little area.
When will you do an off-road test on a Honda Passport?
I had one right before I started doing videos, not sure when another one will be around.
If only I were Rich... :(
Bilstein = bil-stine
Its basically a ram 1500 on steroids lol
I'm curious how many of the parts are actually shared, apart from the cab and bed. It seems to me just about everything else has been beefed up.
No, it's really not. Other than the doors and much of the interior, this truck is almost completely different from the 1500.
The entire drivetrain, suspension, and most of the exterior parts are all unique to this model. Overall, there are far more differences between the two than there are similarities.
we have the same truck good choice
This was just a media loan that I had for a week, but it's a fun truck for sure!
