Today is Thunderbirds 50th Birthday. I think to celebrate that 50th Birthday. Is to show the best Thunderbirds in the Series and the best Thunderbirds is the fantastic Thunderbird 2.

If any of you have played Star Citizen, you'll probably note that the Crusader Hercules C2 was inspired by Thunderbird 2. Although the C2 isn't modular like T2, it's primary purpose is transporting vehicles or just hauling cargo.

I’d really like to know what engine sound effects they used for the pod vehicles. I can certainly hear Perkins diesels in the elevator cars (and some others). Some Gardner diesels, but some others I’m not familiar with. Of course I’d love to know what they used for Thunderbird 2 engines/jets/turbines.
The USAF actually tried out a plane that worked like Thunderbird 2, but it wasn't big enough for serious military cargo, and was dangerously unflyable with no cargo container. Nice try tho.

I imagine Elon watched these as a child, as did many others in the business. Along with Robert Heinlein, this is part of the lore that sent many of us pushing to make it real.

My only issue was the “rollers” used for the undercarriage-no ground clearance, no “ground effect”. Otherwise, I’d be happy to fly it, as long as I didn’t have to wear that uniform.
