@chanel birkin there are sustainable fashion clothing brands that meets every style...you've just got to do your research...reformation, everlane, naadam...you can always purchase secondhand from depop or poshmark or at your local thrift stores (Goodwill)

I think sustainability is so important but Knowing that many sustainable brands are expensive and many people can’t afford them or may not have good thrift stores in their area . I think fast fashion isn’t bad as long as it is versatile for the individual so it will be well worn and sustainable brands are great for investment things like a nice pair of jeans which will get a lot of wear out of them

What's crazy to me is that if I saw these ladies walking down the street, I wouldn't think twice about their outfits...like nothing really stands out and makes me think "wow that's worth $8000"
It's mostly their bags and jewelry. I don't wear expensive clothes but, I splurge on my accessories.
half of that is basically the cost of the handbag they have, a Cèline phantom bag or a Chanel are not gonna cost any less than 2500/3000 dollars...
if something stands out and makes you think wow thats 8000, then you're doing something wrong

I love how Elena was the ONLY conscious buyer. Every piece had a meaningful story or came from a company of sustainability and support of small and local companies. While the other girls really only cared about brand name designers. Quite frankly Elena looked the best and for less!
(Except for Urban Outfitters and her shoes, but yes, she was definitely the best and most sustainable)

Why is that when people hear “rich,” they think “avant garde”? These women are showing you their style, nobody said they were original. The price point likely comes from quality rather than whatever you expect it to be.
Tbh when i see these videos I ask myself ‘is she stylish or is she just thin’ when it comes to high fashion thin people can wear whatever nonsense they find and claim is groundbreaking fashion, but put half these outfits on a plus sized woman and she would look like she shopped exclusively at goodwill 🙃 (not to knock secondhand, but if my outfit is $8000 it better make me look like I stepped out of an editorial)

Taylor Thrifting is a great way to shop sustainably for cheap. Most sustainable brands are expensive (especially if you have student loans to pay or just don’t have the money to spend) and if you clean the clothes before you wear them, it’s a good way to be sustainable and not spend a fortune.
I think people are forgetting that they’ve clicked on a video by Harper’s Bazaar not Forever 21. You’re not going to get videos about high end looks for people on a budget - this is not their audience! I understand that people would rather spend less money on clothing and accessories but remember, there are people out there who are passionate about high end products.
I think some people are expecting something more elegant and high fashioned because it says it's 8k outfit. I am sorry but the second girl doesn't have any high fashion look. It's pretty but it's a no no for me. Just my opinion.

Elena is amazing. I love her style and how she just rocks it and is conscious of sustainability. You don’t have to spend a fortune like the other girls, and I think her outfit is the most put together even though she spent way less than everyone else
They aren't bad looks, but somewhat underwhelming. And the amount of money paid for what I think is average... Well.
I think Elena had the most special pieces and I preferred her look, especially since she mentioned sustainability and conscious purchases.
I think having a few expensive investment prices is fine but when you go and just willy nilly through on several high ticket items, it can just end up looking like you are trying too hard.

I got a $18 brand new real denim pants at Norstrom Rack, a $30 Ralph Lauren sweater on sale, $5 earrings in Taiwan, $20 boots from ASOS that look the same as theirs, spend the left over 27 on a bag.
