The program is my go-to for almost everything. Should have a few more coming out over the next couple weeks. I am just trying to make sure they fit the maker community. There is a lot I could say, but not sure how useful it would be to just makers.
Cool tutorial! Inkscape is really easy to use and there are a ton of tutorials! Really easy to "learn"! Also what I think is really useful! Gimp! In my opinion a little more complex but it's basically a free photoshop.
I had Gimp for a little while, but found that all I used it for I could do in paint .net. I am sure Gimp is much more robust, but paint satisfies my needs.
Thanks for the tutorial! All I could find was about Adobe Illustrator which I can't have here. Can I have a transparent fond picture/ clipart using this program?
THIS is the video I have been looking for but couldn't find lol Thank you sooooo much! Any chance you'd update with the new controls? Does Inkscape change a lot? I've seen different video's for Inkscape and the controls look all different lol
I've downloaded the latest version and here in my screen everything is different, the drawing tool you've shown does not draw a line, instead it draws weird poligonal shapes, sometimes even when I choose the black color and 80% opacity whatever I draw remains invisible. I had to search a tutorial on how to crop the image, then resizing while keeping aspect ratio I was able to find out by myself, but drawing a line is impossible. Really, I can't draw a line! Sorry to vent my frustration here.
Great tutorial! I've been doing it all wrong for decades! I went to college and made a career out of using the industry standard line art application. I thought evening courses too. I could have just watched a 3-minute video. Oh well... life ain't fair I suppose.
I love that name. A friend's company was named that... and his business card showed a dark green curve on a white background (with handles and anchor points)... and the back had a reverse color scheme (dark background with white curve). It was amazing. He quicked changed the company name... it was too hard for others to pronounce. Big mistake in my book.
He was an author. He wrote a how-to book on Adobe Illustrator. One of my illustrations made it into the book. Still... that was the PERFECT business name!
I actually do something quite similar to this, Sometimes I have Drawings and I dont have the colors to design them on paper so I take a picture of the drawing on my phone and I trace it over Inkscape and add colors to it. My teacher was the one who introduced me to Inkscape and I've been using it for almost a year now.
how do you save this? i always get an error when trying to save the pes. Traceback (most recent call last): File "inkstitch.py", line 52, in stdout = stdout.decode(sys.stdout.encoding) UnicodeDecodeError: 'utf-8' codec can't decode byte 0x84 in position 8: invalid start byte
I have tried downloading inkscape but I can't open it? Can anyone help? I also downloaded winrar or something... can I use this to open the inkscape install?
thank you. I'd love to learn in a possible new tutorial, how to divide the same image to be print on 4 pages, so that I can get the exact size that I need for my project(sewing pattern). How to? Please help:)
Absolutely. I am pretty sure it is the SVG files that can be used for that. I haven't done it because I don't have a CNC. However, search for drez20001 here on UA-cam. He uses it for just that.
Dude as a complete amateur this does not work. If I had experience in the software i'd maybe know what all those side bars are, why switiching to 8x11 doesn't work and why didn't mine open with layer one already there like yours did unless i missed something. Someone educate me.
Thank you I spent a lot of time and subscription costs looking for this tutorial.
Thanks! I just Installed Inkscape specifically to do this with pages I've already drawn, so this is very helpful.
Excellent, I'm an absolute beginner with Inkscape, this was perfect. Thank you.

Thanks and I am sure you could bezier circles around me. See it all paid off, because of you I can now pronounce bezier correctly.
I love that name. That's pretty cool. Was it a graphic design company or something similar?
He was an author. He wrote a how-to book on Adobe Illustrator. One of my illustrations made it into the book. Still... that was the PERFECT business name!

In my Inkscape, I don't have that window on the right-hand side of the document. What's it called? How do I open that?
Nice job. Have you tried to make this process using the trace bitmap tool?

I have tried downloading inkscape but I can't open it? Can anyone help? I also downloaded winrar or something... can I use this to open the inkscape install?

Haven't ever tried to use Inkscape but I might just have to now. Can I export that to be able to use it in a file to run a cnc router?
Absolutely. I am pretty sure it is the SVG files that can be used for that. I haven't done it because I don't have a CNC. However, search for drez20001 here on UA-cam. He uses it for just that.
Thanks U man that really helped me to how draw good Thanks :P
How do it get to ink scape ?? it doesn't look like anything you do!

You are most welcome.
Thank you man!!
do you ever do this for payment? i have a logo i need transferred
Sorry, we do not. Hopefully you can follow along and do it yourself.
Cool but what if the drawing was more complex? The cup was redrawn. Double work.
i actually know how to do that, just came to this video because ive seen a coffee cup
hahaha
Thats a easy way

What a useless video, you are redrawing, that is not convert a drawing to vector.
