Must be the best looking air cooled single 4 stroke I've seen. I owned an XT500 and liked it so much but this tops it for being the trimmest, most potent looking of all the big thumpers.
Back in the day I scrounged up enough money for a used '77 RM 250. My friends had tt500s. We switched bikes one day before you know it they both went out and bought Yamaha 465's.I now own a n "85 TT 600.
Gearboxes always failed! Had to go back to the TT 500. Cheney mono shock frames were state of the art. Mine was last raced in Germany in 94. Presently under restoretion.
Mike Schoeffter So would I Mike but on the day it is sometimes not easy for me catching all the bikes starting up. This particular owner was not around his machine and I waited around but gave up in the end. You still have a chance to catch the bike on the track by looking at all the racing from this event now posted on my Channel. Anyhow thanks for your comment.
That thing looks like it would be incredibly fast. Fast and unforgiving. Make a mistake on this and your gonna get hurt. Would love to have a ride on it. I can just imagine the smooth powerband that it has. Arm wrenching power right from idle. Love the look of it. I want.
There's nothing like racing an old school big bore 4 stroke. It's kind of like smoking a old filterless Lucky Strike or Pall Mall. It burns your eyes, and is uncomfortable but you like it. Like cigarette smoke,it offends everyone in your surroundings only with a abrasive sound from a open exhaust
YZ 490 seat and plastic, maybe chassis except for the twin shock conversion and bottom half of chassis. Swing arm pivot way off though. Frankenbike for sure, still cool.
an absolute stunner of a bike, I don’t think I’ve ever seen a TT600 in yellow, very nice!
Your right Brian just wish I had more time on the day to look around the bike a bit more, anyhow thanks again for watching.

Looks like TT500 chassis, 600 TT mod, or XT600 engine swap. Interesting transplant on a beautiful bike
