    Thanks for the tutorial series. Watched all of it and it helped a lot. Now I just need to awaken my artistic side. I used to draw a lot back then and I was fairly good at it. I can tell that a good Zbrush sculptor requires artistic skill as well.

    You needed to mention to drag the sphere with a downward stroke to orientate it correctly. I couldn't get the symmetry to work correctly for a long time as the x axis of the sphere was at an angle.

      @raskal8578 9 років тому

      Samantha Johnston I only ask because I got a new one but it wasn't good enough. Now that 7 is out I'm hoping the GFX card wouldn't be as important as system memory.

    • @Sakura0754
      @Sakura0754 9 років тому

      Highly Recommended
      OS: Windows Vista/Windows 7/Windows 8 32-bit/64-bit
      CPU: Pentium D or newer (or equivalent such as AMD Athlon 64 X2 or newer) with optional multithreading or hyperthreading capabilities.
      RAM: 2048MB required for working with multi-million-polys. 6 GB recommended. (ZBrush 4 is a 32-bit application, but can use up to 4 GB of system RAM)
      HDD: 16GB of hard drive free-space for the scratch disk.
      Pen Tablet: Wacom or Wacom compatible.
      Monitor: 1280x1024 monitor resolution or higher (32-bit color
      As for the graphics card it looks like z renders itself and not the graphics card. As long as the graphics card can handle the resolution needed anything will do. However have a look at your cpu and ram.

    • @raskal8578
      @raskal8578 9 років тому

      Samantha Johnston i have a intel i7 3930k @3.2ghz with 32gigz ram. Whenever I go to dynamesh a full character it only allows for me 600 thousand faces on the geometry, a very low resolution in comparison the sculppture in this video. I tried upping the prefs to no avail. It happens even on default spheres.

    zbruch better than maya or blender to model head ?

    • @fxk123

      Zbush pixologic and Autodesk Maya are industry standards, Normally they model in zbrush. then pas it to maya to make retopology, so they can use it to animations, videogames etc.

    Unfortunately I don't understand why you're doing a lot of the strokes you are doing, and why, or how I should be doing something similar. My head looks nothing like yours at this stage.
    Like for example, why you start off making the neck look so weirdly long. Why your face is looking down. Why you pull it out then push it back to almost the same place it just came from etc.
