    Did this video help with your purchase decision. Just a polite note to say that it is customers, not just visitors to our website, open days or asking for advice that means this channel can continue. Thank you

    Just got this delivered today from NorthernOptics, not just a good reviewer but a great supplier too, well packaged and very helpful guy. Highly recommend his store.
    This is my second 8*42, I have them one glove compartment of the car (this is for the van ;-)) . this is a great optic to have to hand when out and about, light and very easy to use one handed. Cause its soo small and light I always have it to hand, the clarity of the optic is really strong. can recommend these enough. you'd struggle to get a better optic for the price
    My use case, Hiking, birdwatching and impromptu astronomy, as they are light you don't get much shake when using them for a long time

    Thanks, mine arrived yesterday and seems every bit as good as this review. No problem wearing glasses, and the focus is super smooth to operate. As I had hoped the image is a whole lot brighter than with my (other brand) 8x24 binoculars, but being a monocular it's just as easy to carry about. My only gripe would be the lanyard which doesn't look like it would last long; I happened to have a spare narrow strap in my gubbins drawer (very much like the one you sell in your Accessories section) which I found works great and keeps the eyepiece cover safely tethered.
    p.s. super-quick delivery from Northern Optics too thanks!

    Hows does this compare to the viking. Looking at both of them.
    I do wear glasses and favor a large field of view .
    So really need your help and which one you would buy.
    Thanks for a all your reviews unlike a lot of them you tell it as it is and are not paid by the manufacture to talk rubbish to promote there products
    Cheers

      Thanks for the kind words. The Hawke just has the edge on sharpness. But the difference is so small, many will not notice. The Viking`s slightly smaller focus wheel gives excellent handling. The Hawke has a longer warranty, but this makes no difference if you look after them. For example I have a set of binoculars with a 1 year warranty. 40+ years on they are still fully functional because they have not been dropped and well maintained.
      Because they are so popular, the Hawke ED 8x42 always sell out fast. So if this is your choice, don`t think about it too long when back in stock. We have more on back order.

    Is there much difference between the smaller 25mm version? Compactness is my main factor

    • @44messier
      @44messier  11 місяців тому

      42mm wins with longer eye relief, brighter image and wider view. But if size is the main priority the 25mm gives amazing clarity for its size. In stock and available on our website

    Can this be fitted with a mobile phone with the monocular resting on a tripod?
    Or can all monoculars fit with mobile?
    Please let me know.

      Our smart phone adapter will fit this monocular no problem. Will fit on any mount, providing the mounting plate is not too wide.

    Hi, I have the zeiss victory 10x25 pocket binoculars.
    How would the image quality compare with these or the 10x?
    This looks great just to keep in the car glove box

    • @44messier
      @44messier  2 роки тому +1

      Sorry do not deal with Zeiss so can not compare. I always advise against keeping optics in glove boxes, unless well padded.
