Thank you so much I was just getting ready to buy one on e bay for 90 dollars I'm so glad I watched your video..🙏🙏🙏
Lol I was debating on changing to the mishimoto thermostat cause I gotta replace my water pump so I thought I would do it all at one time. I also have the mishimoto radiator and fan. This helped out a lot
I’m so jealous bro can’t wait for art pipes
I had one on my 04 G35, did it's job cause my fans didn't work lol, but did cause issues with the ECU... made the ECU think the engine never got to operating temps.... Moncef from admin said it's a tunable feature though... just a heads up bro! other than that the OEM thermostat does ok if you were to drill out the valve inside the thermostat by the spring, learned that from #JimmyO
Reische Thermostat or Mishimoto for 2014 mustang GT Whipple charged?
What obd2 scanner for that info any for g37’s?
I though it just opened earlier thats all if your cooling system still not up to par have it open earlier not going to do much . Upgrade radiator and fans and it will work better
That’s what I figured, mishimoto advertises it helps you straight run a cooler temperature in general but it makes sense you need other things like fans and a radiator for it to be fully effective
Idk about your application, but on my Honda, the mishimoto thermostat will never reach operating temp unless the car is idling, now I did change the radiator to a brand new one, which may have helped my situation, but cruising down the highway at 75 It never reaches over 180... If anything I've seen the temps drop down to 168 which is alittle too cool in my opinion but it's better than it was before running at 203 degrees going 75mph. Personally I think 180-185 is a great temp for efficiency of the cooling system and might give you slight and I mean slight edge in power. But really it only matters if your car is high performance like mine is, high horsepower using forced induction. Otherwise the OEM thermostat is your best bet.
I 100% agree. A thermostat alone will not lower the temp. It only opens sooner to allow the supporting cooling components do their job. This part is called “racing thermostat” which means it’s meant for 200+ degree situations. This video doesn’t portray the proper use of this part.
I just changed from my Cummins 03 5.9 but my thermostat was worthless I have to drill it cause temperature was 230 Fahrenheit in half hour of driving . Maybe mine was defective
Nice vid. When you told us that you bought a low temp thermostat I was thinking oops that might be a mistake 😅 Those thermostats are usually use in very high powered engines like race/drag cars because those engines would need it to keep some of them from overheating or blowing up. I still appreciate the vid and the testing you had done. 👍🏾
I figured, I do plan on going boost pretty soon so I figured it wouldn’t hurt, it was cheap and easy to install so might as well haha, glad you enjoyed the video 👍
An engine needs to run at the manual's temperature all the time, not cooler. Otherwise, just remove the thermostat and keep the gasket only, until you break the engine. :) These parts are used to solve overheating issues for some scenarios, are not considered as an upgrade. For example, if the radiator is too efficient for the application, the antifreeze fluid will be too cold and the oem thermostst won't open in time which will lead to overheating. And also the fan won't start.
However, it's a bit weird that the engine runs hotter after installing it. Perhaps a cooler fan switch would've been more appropiate, but again, it's not required foe your application.
The hot coolant inside the engine will always force the thermostat open. It doesnt matter how efficient the radiator is.
@@boost331 Indeed, I runned a few more tests meanwhile. But if the coolant becomes too cold the thermostat will close at some point in order to bring the engine to optimal temp. As a conclusion, on a 11.5comp honda engine, having both mishimoto thermostat and fan switch, the engine was running at 75-85 degrees C. And the oil was kept at 80-85 after a looong while on highway. So I would not recommend these toys unless you run crazy numbers. But these helped me to drive the car 100km to the mecanic with a blown gasket, without overheating or spitting the coolant out. :)
Was gana order one on Amazon glitch price of $40, not even gana bother now.
How are you using a app to give all that info?
I have an obd2 reader that connects via Bluetooth and wifi so I can read data through an app, it was only 20 bucks haha
@@DGWhipZ dang. Does it tell you oil pressure and temp and stuff like that?
Did you end up putting the oem back in
Not yet, I don’t feel like re bleeding the cooling system yet I’ve done it like 6 times in the last two months 😂
Most “racing” mods you want a higher temp
Those thermostat only work if your radiator can keep up with cooling. You can't just put Those thermostat expect to work lol
