Smoky Mike sez: a great LP indeed! As always, I find this mono more listenable over the long haul than the "psych-o-diculous" mixes typical of the late '60s. Gee whiz, another Tower LP clocking in under 30 minutes...I wonder how many of those there are out there altogether? Thank MH for me, and thanks to you Poodle, for posting this outlier.
Thanks for uploading these obscure gems! I'd love to see more mono mixes on UA-cam. (Shame about your upload of the uncensored mono mix of "We're Only in it for the Money" getting taken down...)
@@thepoodlebites3117 Funny about that: sometimes the labels let stuff languish on YT for 5 years, or even forever, if no one yells about it. Other times, they're on it in 10 minutes. Who knows what goes on in the halls of the great record company cathedrals these days?
It's unreasonable that stuff like this is even still under copyright. The copyright laws in the United States are highly biased towards protecting large corporations' stake in American culture, because that's who pays for politicians' advertising campaigns. After 50-60 years, material like this belongs to the people, not to some massive 3rd-generation company which has absolutely no relation to the original artists or the work itself. And we wonder why music has not made any significant advancements in the past 20 years -- this is why. People are supposed to learn from the work of previous generations and build upon it, but giant collectives like Universal and Disney are putting American culture in a stranglehold for every dollar they can squeeze out. The US badly needs an overhaul of its copyright law framework, especially in the digital era.
