For me the 1830s is fashion on crack and I love it for that. Like it's so campy. The hair? Insane. The sleeves? So puffy. The skirt? Just short enough that you can see the little shoes. It's great!
"Porcelain doll" is definitely a good description of the feel of this style on a moving person (not just the fashion plate/illustrations). It is quite charming and girlish. I still prefer the more elegant silhouettes of the late 1800s to 1910s personally, but I can see the appeal.
Love the shoes! Honestly the silhouette is still a bit goofy but I do think it looks kind of cute, like a little puffball lol. Or maybe that’s just the filming angle idk
i, essentially, do no research before making any new dress. i have personal rules about types of fabrics i use, but it has no relevance to historical accuracy. my clothes, my choices, and i end up with something i like almost every time. crafting, for me, is about creativity and happiness.
Make sure you are photographed straight on - the camera person was pointing the camera down at you, which creates fore-shortening and makes the bodice and hat look alot bigger than the skirt. Other than that - gorgous outfit!!!!!!
Hey girl, if you believe in witches surely you can believe in the Lord our God Jesus. Please repent and turn to him 💖 Just sharing the gospel 😊 (I used to be the biggest horror lover) and all that changed when i had a nde so just letting everyone know the good news of Salvation ❤️
No. The fashion illustrations were accurate.. The clothes on an actual person does not make it better. It's terrible. This is s look that is better left in the unromantic past. ☹

Your so absolutely adorable 🥰
Sewlo, Vasi Birchwood, Bernadette Banner, and Karolina Zebrowska should all meet up for an 1830s photoshoot or something.
You're missing the wild, tall, loopy braids with ringlets. 😅
Makes an excellent witch outfit.
No, the outfit in real life looks exactly like the illustrations. But it looks pretty cute!
Love it!!
I agree with you and I'll add, its totally out of season

I was also a bit of a 1830’s hater (not entirely, I think I hate the 40’s more) but this is adorable!!! And stylish! And fun!

100% porcelain doll, I see it being like little kid cute, I can’t even imagine it on older ladies.
I have a question what would a women wear to church in the Victorian era

No it really is goofy as h*ll.
Try staying alive for a few hundred years and we’ll see what people think of your skinny jeans or sweats or whatever you wear regularly 😂
Also you don’t have to censor hell hahah
