@@adolforodolfo6929 You are correct. An adult cat is way too much for any fox to handle. They are physically stronger than the fox, have more weapons, and the fastest reflexes of any other animal. There are many videos on UA-cam showing cat / fox encounters, and every one of them shows the cat dominant over the fox. The same thing happens between bobcats and coyotes. A coyote does not want any smoke with the bobcat. And i have seen lynx chase off lone wolves.
The cat is not protecting the food. The food is not worth protecting because it comes for free out of nowhere and the cat doesn't need to worry about it. The cat is protecting the territory where food is always available and the cat wants to stay there. The fox on the other hand doesn't know about free food on this particular territory therefore it is trying to get what it can and leave before anyone can get hurt.

Right. Amazing that as fast as we know cats are, that fox was staying ahead with control... enough to not be touched and then stop as soon as the cat stopped haha. Then back for more snacks. That fox has some serious strength that probably won't be used on much more than mice, but man are they athletic.
CC-Tron foxes aren't canines though. They're in their own genus. However they're canids, which is the canine family but they're not canines. Confusing, isn't it ? +naphackDT Looked more like the cat thought he was camouflaged at the end and was ready to pounce the fox. Little did he know, he stuck out like a sore thumb.

That fox has the cat figured out! Go ahead, kitty, I'm not afraid of you! I think the cat sees it as a game, and the fox knows it! He plays just enough to get the food.
jafferbar I'm fully with you, although maybe "kill" is a bit of a stretch. A domestic Tom can DEFINITELY do severe damage to animals bigger than itself. I have 2 Tomcats, both Tabbies, (used to have 3) and 1 of them, when it was still just a half grown kitten, killed a huge, adult squirrel that was at least twice his size. They are ferocious fighters and go for the eyes and throat, and those are areas any wild animal is going to be desperate not to injure. A domestic Tom has no fear, it gets food for free anyway. And they are incredibly strong too. Of course, it depends on the cat's breed & background (a pampered moggy is less likely to know how to fight, let alone start one), but a big Ginger or Tabby Tomcat who had enough interaction with other cats whilst a kitten to learn to fight, they're pretty fearsome
@@KENNYBIGBOWMAN I suppose I'm a fox fanboy, in that I like them a lot, but the average fox is going to come second in a fight with a cat. The fan boys that really make me laugh are the "fighting dog" brigade who think that their pit bull can take out a leopard 🙄
LOL, both cat and fox are a little afraid of each other. When the cat first saw the fox eating its food, he went right after him. Then the fox ate it again, and the cat chased him for a bit but stopped when the fox turned around. The the fox started again and was eating away for awhile till the cat slowly snuck up on him. The fox gradually became less and less afraid of the cat and the cat gradually got more cautious around the fox until the cat decided he really wasn't going to fight the fox.
I think so too, but why would he fight : he get all the food he wanted, and the cat only attacked the fox while he had something in his mouth (so he couldn't bite). If the cat was really stronger, the fox wouldn't have eaten anything.
Those 2 are friends and know each other. I can tell by the cat's body language that he is not really serious. My cat and the local grey fox are friends. Foxes are nice animals, Coyotes are the cat killers.
This is great footage! My own big strong territorial male cat will not tolerate Fox at all and I've learned fox really don't care for the claw action! 👍
We have an 11 pound all white female. She is not much of a hunter, and usually leaves the smaller animals alone, but she is very territorial and has been aggressive with larger animals - dogs, raccoon, fox, etc. I have stopped her from attacking dogs being walked by the house three or four times now. The last time, there was an older woman walking a cocker spaniel by the house while i was outside with Courtney the cat. Courtney growled like a bobcat and slammed both front paws viciously on the ground ready to attack before i stepped in. And a few years back, a curious large male raccoon approached Courtney in the backyard. She growled loudly again and clawed him right in the nose - probably one of the most sensitive parts of his body. He was two or three times her size, but he spun around and fled out of the yard right away with her chasing after him. A few minutes later, she returned, but he never came back to this yard after that.
That cat is a hopeless case lol. Once a fox got in my garden and tried to get near to some apples and when the neighbor's cat chase her, the fox run far for her life.
Cat: I can't really fight so I'll just act like I can and keep approaching him slowly. That'll make him run away in fear. Fox: You are just like most bullies. You act tough, but you can't back it up. So I'll just eat until I'm full and leave when I'm good and ready.
Gotta love how the cat is stalking up in plain sight. "Stupid fox won't see me ... this green grass will conceal my movements muhaha"
That is one big beautiful cat. Almost looks like a panther
I was thinking the same. This is not a cat is a panther, I know Fox hunts cats.
