This is one of the decks featured in the book “Untold Tarot: The Lost Art of Reading Ancient Tarot’s” by Caitlin Matthews. When the book was published in 2018 this deck was still a limited edition and very expensive Indie deck, so I’m happy its now more widely available to more people as a US Games edition. Thanks for your walkthrough, very enjoyable as they always are!

I love this little deck. The colors on the Majors and the Courts are gorgeous, I really like the style of the pips too. I can see it as a fancy Indie deck but I'm quite happy with this one! It is "tin sized" and I sort of wish it had a tin (although the box is a good one). I'd keep it in the tin, toss it my bag and be off. 😉Thanks, Simon.

What a lovely deck. I have never been attracted to a Marseille deck but I'm tempted with this one. I've also backed the Divine and Play deck and can't wait to receive it. Good video, many thanks x

Love these little sets! This looks like the same set-up/presentation as the Maybe Lenormand -and that’s good because US Games did a great job on that. I also thought this one was based on the Conver, but this seems like a type 1 Marseille and the Conver is a type 2 🤔 I also backed the Divine and Play and I’m super excited about that one, too. Thanks for the review, Simon. Hugs 🤗

YAY! It has arrived! I can not get tired of looking at those beautiful little cards, Simon! 🧡
Inspiration-wise, from looking at my historic TdM decks, I think Ryan was influenced by Noblet and Dodal (Type 1 TdM, where Conver is Type 2 and I’m yet to lay out the trumps side by side for a fun comparison😊).
Thank you so very much for the mention, my friend! 😘
I loved seeing these cards and hearing your thoughts!
    Much love! 💕

It's after older version Type 1 Marseille. Conver is Type 2. You can tell by the hair of the Empress, the Angel blindfolded on the Lovers, the Full Face moon of the Moon, the face on the belly of the Devil, etc. Such a wonderful deck, so sweet. This was originally a limited edition of 200 that Ryan hand painted.
Thanks again, Simon. You're on a roll this week! A.

Its a wonderful workhorse deck. Ryan bases his pip method on Dawn Jackson's Hedgewytchery, so its very clear and simple. A beginner could learn to read both TdM and playing cards with just the booklet if they applied themselves. A similar deck is Ian Cumpstey's Rare Triumphs - do you have it? It's wonderful - the Majors are based off some very old Italian (I think) decks and the finish is an old fashioned cambric finish, not the little bumps that pass for "linen" these days. I love both decks.

SIMON definitely ordering this Deck Thank you for Sharing. I started with Playing Cards over 40 yrs ago, it's my first love. I don't know if you noticed that in the Court Cards, by seeing the feet, an the rest of the deck it makes the reader able to read reversible. I was taught to read a regular deck of Playing Cards Reversed by, marking a. ( T ) for the top of the card . I know you probably dont read that way ,just wanted to point this out in this deck. Again Thank for sharing another Walk through. Hugs Caroline 🥰😘❤

Of course, I never thought about that with traditional playing cards being a mirror image in the courts. Great little tip, thank you Caroline!

If your pagan playing card deck has typical US poker-sized cards, then these cards appear to be US bridge-sized cards (2.25" x 3.5"). Is that right? Does anyone know the weight and type of core on the card stock?

That’s actually a really pretty and versatile deck. I don’t yet have any playing card decks (outside of the relatively boring regular kind). I haven’t been able to figure out what I would do with them. I’ll be interested to hear what you think about that book. 😀

Are you familiar with the Brut Tarot by Uusi? The trumps are Marseille-like with the pips being regular playing card pips. It’s very beautiful...like all of Uusi’s products and runs about $34 USD.

Simon, need to ask you something before I do it. One of our community needs monetary help with a kitten she found that was badly injured. She has set up a GoFundMe page to help her recoup the expense, which is huge and any further costs that may incur. I have been putting the request up everywhere I know, but have raised little to help her. You have such a large viewer base, could I put it up here? I'm not down on all post protocols but she is honest and willing to show the bills for the surgery that had to be preformed.
Anyone else that knows of sites other than FB,Twitter, please let me know and thank you.
