I know Ghost Brigade since 2012, I think, yet I heard about Cult of Luna only after Vertikal came out... And damn, boy, only now I realized the similarities between both bands! Seems like GB have been listening to CoL a lot... and that makes me love both bands even more
i had heard this song many times listening through the album at work but when i saw the video it just put the song in a completely different light for me. i didnt even notice that there are 3 guitars going at once at one point.... this song is amazing and the end of this video with all the white and the running with that amazingly dramatic riff backing it...... best album this year by far. good fucking job Ghost Brigade,
Found this song on a Devin Townsend Project song radio on Spotify...stoked that I found this song and band! the lead singer looks like Sith Lord Palpatine singing with the hood on 🤘
For sure, and if you listen to Insomnium "The Conjurer" (2020) you'll clearly recognize the (same) guitar chorus in it !! They're still influencing the major melodeath bands today...
Sweating blood Wading in mud Pulling heavy carriage On this road to nowhere Pounding rain A roaring thunder Trying to maintain sanity Fading consciousness Every whiplash throws me back to this nightmare I will break my leash I will break the bond between us And prove my innocence Running through the woods And an open field A feeling of freedom Is just passing by Once I was a hunter Now I've become prey They can tear me to pieces But my ghost will stay whole I am exhausted Feels like I'm reaching the end I keep on falling You were my master You treated me like a pet Now I have my own opinion Cut off the ropes Seal my wounds Let me run away to find my brigade Give back my name And my dignity I want to run free with my brigade I was your slave with no name You defiled my body But you couldn't destroy my soul I'm the growing rage I'll break all the chains No one can stop me I give you salvation Now it's my turn to look down on you While you're digging your own grave I am immortal I will make you lose your mind And you will see the light Cut off the ropes Seal my wounds Let me run away to find my brigade Give back my name And my dignity I want to run free with my brigade
I really recommend checking out the video director/animator's stuff he is pretty awesome. If you like shoegaze/post rock/metal be sure to listen to his band Les Discrets, as stated in the video's info :)
Thank you to QWERTY from Rate Your Music, who later got banned by the dumbass leftists who run that site for expressing wrongthink opinions, for introducing me to this band. R.I.P.
I think if this band had better backing and US exposure, they would've been an undoubted hit. A brilliant band with a sound that fit the radio culture.
i think that exactly this is what makes this band so good, i love how their songs are built up and the overall mood their CD's create. but yeah...taste differs i guess hehe ;-)
Not at all really. Not sure why you think that. Clean vocals have slight, slight similarities to the singer from Mudvayne but I think that has more to do with the effects but nothing sticks out consistently to either band. Opeth sound completely different than Ghost Brigade. I should have a pretty good idea considering Opeth is one of my favorite bands. Similar band to Opeth? Check out In mourning. Less clean singing than Opeth but really cool band IMO. Daylight Dies is another awesome band with some similarities to Ghost Brigade
As far as i see i think it's about a ghost finally scaping from the claws of his own body, the line "you were my master" and "let me runaway to find my brigade" makes it even more accurate, also it's a reference to the band's name.
This is epic. Not the biggest fan of the clean parts, the singer's slight Finnish accent bothers me, but the rest is quite heavy, with an oppressive or even distressing atmosphere. Very cool. His guttural vocals are superb.
still hoping one day they will come back :(
Such a happy ending. Just delightful.
Ghost brigade was honestly the most underrated band in the entire metal history.
Man I came here to comment this
Asinine unquantifiable hyperbole
@@astroletras Same :-( such a loss
Agreed. A comeback would be welcomed :)

I love this band so much. Clean/Unclean vocals are so damn good, and the instrumentals are beautiful!
R.I.P. GHOST BRIGADE (2005-2020)
“manly metal tears”
:'(
WHAT A FRIGHT! I thought the singer who had passed away.
UA-cam speaks his is life!!
Noooo!!!!
Nooo 😔

We miss such quality of music 😓
Great video, great band and great music.

The Ending so Epic, the best feeling of freedom of the souls from the clawmaster...
Awesome \m/
These guys are amazing.
The feels. The goddamn feels.
Cant believe I only hear this now. Take a look at the song Ghost trail by Cult of Luna. This is beautyfully exicuted.
+Savage ddt
it is doom metal
+StoryTimeSA Listened to Ghost trail yet?
+Savage ddt Thanx boet bevokte song /,,/.

Such an amazing song man, like you said, very well executed.
I love this band 🖤🖤
The best group of...
All time, yeah that's true.

very, very impressive! may be not a masterpiece, but what the hell - i absolutely love this song. It''s amazing!
i really dig the sound and the video is graphically awesome.
Very cool video.
saludos desde colombia a ghost brigade.
Awesome music
Found this song on a Devin Townsend Project song radio on Spotify...stoked that I found this song and band! the lead singer looks like Sith Lord Palpatine singing with the hood on 🤘
super chanson et le clip est simpa aussi !
Violently dramatic...an hymn until the Heart...
YES. VERY EXCEPTION.
Logo de cara achei a arte impressionante, e só depois vi que foi o Fursy Teyssier que fez lol só podia ser, o cara eh foda demais
Vaina buena!!!!
Excellent example of post metal
progressive metal, melodic death metal, doom metal, finnish, dark metal.
That's their genre.
Progressive Death Metal according to their own Facebook page, so yes :)
First time I've seen a metal video with 666 likes. NICE!
perfect depression!!
Les Discrets is great!
Requiem For Oblivion Fursy is a talented man :)
Banda dlç... ♥
I guess that 5 users are pulling heavy carriage to nowhere.
Fucking great!
@deadpoolpatras1989
Because they are on crisis
@OfBloodandFire83 indeed it does:|
Reminds me of rob zombies lords of Salem
It looks like LIMBO game
oh man you scare me
Hard to define their genre..
well , this band is over :(
We're in 2021, so 10 years after... And I'm still listening to this song feeling the same timeless thing... A master piece...
2023, still rocking
Is this how the world/humanity is placing it's mark to remind the next? Well I'm here now. "I'm old enough to know better."
For sure, and if you listen to Insomnium "The Conjurer" (2020) you'll clearly recognize the (same) guitar chorus in it !! They're still influencing the major melodeath bands today...
Forever
If you don't play ghost brigade at my funeral, i'm not coming.
that ending is just breathtaking
Sweating blood
Wading in mud
Pulling heavy carriage
On this road to nowhere
Pounding rain
A roaring thunder
Trying to maintain sanity
Fading consciousness
Every whiplash throws me back to this nightmare
I will break my leash
I will break the bond between us
And prove my innocence
Running through the woods
And an open field
A feeling of freedom
Is just passing by
Once I was a hunter
Now I've become prey
They can tear me to pieces
But my ghost will stay whole
I am exhausted
Feels like I'm reaching the end
I keep on falling
You were my master
You treated me like a pet
Now I have my own opinion
Cut off the ropes
Seal my wounds
Let me run away to find my brigade
Give back my name
And my dignity
I want to run free with my brigade
I was your slave with no name
You defiled my body
But you couldn't destroy my soul
I'm the growing rage
I'll break all the chains
No one can stop me
I give you salvation
Now it's my turn to look down on you
While you're digging your own grave
I am immortal
I will make you lose your mind
And you will see the light
Cut off the ropes
Seal my wounds
Let me run away to find my brigade
Give back my name
And my dignity
I want to run free with my brigade
Lyrically, Metal is definitely the deepest form of music
Any one else get chills at the end? :D love this band!
This band is as good as underrated... sad...
i find the begining of the video looks like the video game Limbo ;)
Same.
When you first discovered ghost brigade a few months ago and you just found out they are no more : (
Welcome to the brigade.
2:23 eargasm
Is it just me or is this band fking godlike!
wow what a fucking good song !! 🤘
Epic piece of art !!!
I really recommend checking out the video director/animator's stuff he is pretty awesome. If you like shoegaze/post rock/metal be sure to listen to his band Les Discrets, as stated in the video's info :)
one of the best parts in a song, after 4:28 till the end! just awesome!
Really like this song, first time hearing this band. And I did not know Fursy Teyssier was such a good animator.
Beautiful great song and a music video done by the genius behind Les Disecrets and the art of Alcest,Amesoeurs, ect =w=..
Thank you to QWERTY from Rate Your Music, who later got banned by the dumbass leftists who run that site for expressing wrongthink opinions, for introducing me to this band. R.I.P.
Before i put this song like alarm for the morning. Now i hate this.... yep, i'm stupid. Ghost Brigade its a great band. ,/,,/
Still need a Comeback
Needs a return!
Ghost brigade return plz :(
Makes me all teary-eyed.
Great video.
🔥
just by chance I landed here, man this is great
I am thankful every day that I discovered their music. Wish they would come back!
I think if this band had better backing and US exposure, they would've been an undoubted hit. A brilliant band with a sound that fit the radio culture.
Too good for modern American radio. Lots of metal songs are.
I agree. Almost everyone I’ve shared Into the Black Light with has loved it, metalhead or not.
Ni un solo color! Solo negro, blanco, sombras y reflejos, Magistral!
Too underrated
Excellent band 🔥
i think that exactly this is what makes this band so good, i love how their songs are built up and the overall mood their CD's create.
but yeah...taste differs i guess hehe ;-)
Fursy did a great job.
@deadpoolpatras1989
polish metal hammer put 4,5/5 for this album - yeah!
11/10 everything
Found Ghost Brigade from RLM, thanks Mike!
i am so glad, i saw them live in Vienna just before they vanished...
Holy shit, I loved the song already but that video is amazing! Well done guys, the new album is great!
When you discover a great band and find out they broke up years ago.... that's the feeling I have
These guys should opened for Opeth
Best vid ive seen in quite a long time. Very well done. Songs awsome too :)
You know a song is awesome when you hit the like button after just 10 seconds of hearing it. Freakin' awesome.
Man, this is epic.
Can't wait to see them at HELLFEST!!!!!....And Mainstage too :-) !!! Well deserved Love this band!!!
francois rosec Yeah mec on va déguster ! ;)
Manne Ikonen is a beast, his vocals are insane. I attended their concert in Berlin in 2015, it was fucking amazing.
smth similar to COL (Cult of Luna)
this is my favorite metal band of 2012. And this year just started.
We need a comeback! 😭😭😭
Sad news about the end of the band... they just posted on FB.
Ghost Brigade f@@kin rules. 🤘
Seen them live.. Went for enslaved, during the first song I thought what is this..... then went completely nuts, just brilliant
Sounds reminiscent of the like of Mudvayne and Opeth. I like it.
Exactly what I was thinking!
how have i only just heard this band now :(
Actually it sounds nothing like Mudvayne or Opeth.
The singer sounds just like Chad Gray when he sings, not the screams just the clean vocals , imo
Not at all really. Not sure why you think that. Clean vocals have slight, slight similarities to the singer from Mudvayne but I think that has more to do with the effects but nothing sticks out consistently to either band. Similar band to Opeth? Check out In mourning. Less clean singing than Opeth but really cool band IMO. Daylight Dies is another awesome band with some similarities to Ghost Brigade
This brings cold shivers. Awesome band. And indeed superb and surprisingly lively live.
I would love to know the symbolism behind the clip.
As far as i see i think it's about a ghost finally scaping from the claws of his own body, the line "you were my master" and "let me runaway to find my brigade" makes it even more accurate, also it's a reference to the band's name.
This music video is amazing!

The video was made by the guy from Les Discrets. I'm not really into melodic death but this was a Great Album
Brutal till now
очень круто !!! спасибо !
damn I miss Finland.
Oh, goddamn it. This has got to be at least the fourth awesome band I've discovered that have been put on hiatus mere months before...
+Ceridwen Aeradwr happened to me with isis.... :(
+snewso Isis turned into Palms as Chino Moreno became their singer
