31 years ago, it started with the Lamborghini Countach. Then most famously, the Diablo, and now with the Huracán GT3 Evo 2, JLOC has not only become a race-winning contender but now for the first time, CHAMPION!
And with JLOC being my favorite JGTC/Super GT team, to see them reach the top of the racing world as champions is so damn awesome. Congratulations to them and their iconic No. 88 team on their first (GT300) championship!!! 🤩🏁🏆🎉

These GT500 cars are planted through the Esses-Dunlop-Degner; I'd bet the GT500 cars would be faster than WEC's hypercars
I remember someone doing the math before, and I think they are about the same speed
@d-trillaa2766 just did a quick research. On the same track (Fuji) this year: Hypercar's best time on hyperpole session was 1:28.901 done by Caddy, while GT500's best on Quali was 1:26.709 done by Astemo Civic R-GT. GT500 is 2+ secs faster on a power track where the hypercars have 50+ more hp and lighter min. weight (1030 kg for hypercars before BoP, 1100 kg for GT500 before success ballast).
To add a context, the GT500 time posted here was done on May (peak of summer, higher track temp so lower grip level) while WEC raced on September (end of summer, transition to autumn, cooler track temp so higher grip level)

@@d-trillaa2766 yes that's true. It's sad that DTM x SuperGT Class 1 regs didn't become a thing. It's the best silhouette tin-top racecars, somewhat a successor to the group 5 regs back in 70s IMO
Yea, I love hypercar/gtp but that's just embarrassing. Haha. GT500 are some of the faster road course race cars in the world, only behind F1, Super Formula and maybe Indycars.
