Note: Information are based on what they only saw what happened to the bus.
In this video, we're going to look what actually happened to the Alexander Dennis Enviro 500, SMB5012T, the first Double Decker bus to retired in SMRT bus fleet.

For me, if this bus is damaged, it can actually be turned into a "Enviro 200", which is a single decker bus by Alexander Dennis (the same company who made the E500)

Fun fact: In Hong Kong, there are around 2000 E500 Gen2s. Of which around 10 have been scrapped due to incidents.

Personally, I would say stripping out the good parts (seats, EDS, engine & gearbox, body panels) would be the best way to salvage what's left of SMB5012T. They can be used to replace broken parts on other buses. Not sure if that happened, but it would a huge waste if it wasn't.

I think some of these buses are being transferred to Melbourne, Australia. Double-deckers have only recently debuted on regular bus services in Melbourne and already are in high demand. I did hear something about more second-hand double-deckers from Singapore joining the current fleet of Double Deckers in Melbourne. I have heard that are few others are also going to other Countries overseas, but I am not so sure where.

Maybe at first this bus is scheduled for repair but when the service department calculated the cost and found that repairing this bus is more costly than the refurbishment of the Mercedes Benz TIB 1105H bendy bus, it is finally decided that the bus is to be deregister and sent for scrap.
