This was an incredible video. Sammy facing her anxiety, remaining courageous, and persevering is a powerful human story. I really hope that she pushes in to game two soon. Sometimes your mistakes in your first attempt at anything can dissuade you from continuing. That second try is where the growth can begin.
My wife's over 50. She started in the Never Ever League last year. She played her first Z-League game last week, started at 11:30 PM. She's been getting faster every week! Of course, since we don't have connections, all our stuff is from Sideline Swap.

Mad props to her. I grew up playing AAA, but I haven’t even hit a pick-up for ten years. I miss the game a lot. I’ve been trying to build up the courage to get back out there and join the local beer league, and this is was definitely a bit of motivation.

I get you. First year playing after 13 years. Clearly not the level I was but it's so much fun! That's why you do it when you're not a pro. Nice social activity. Makes you move a bit to stay in shape, playing the best sport.

Do it! I never played ice hockey at all growing up and just started this past fall at 28, and I've never had so much fun in any other sport!
Way to get out there again, Sammy! It only gets easier and more fun after that first one.
The funny thing is that I am doing the same thing. Played in year 5 through 8 and just started back last month skating and at night practicing hockey drills. I am hoping I will be able to do some pickup games on the ice soon and then get into a league.
All I have to say Sammy is WOW. For not having played for over 20 years you didn't even look lost. Just need some ice time and you'll be absolutely BUZZING around the ice. This was so entertaining to watch and am looking forward to next episode! Whether or not that's running drills or game 2, 3, 4 etc, I'll be waiting.
Haha I know right?! I thought she was barely gonna be able to play and she looked great! Plus I can imagine having to break in all the new gear would make it a lot harder. I’m sure she will progress and I can’t wait to see it! I was smiling through the whole video I hope she knows how many people she’s inspired

Big heartwarming moment when Coach is talking to the camera, admitting that he really wants to root for Sammy. She's looking really good for her first league game back after her hiatus. I hope she's willing to keep at it. It'd be awesome if they both can get out there with shinny and maybe some coed games and just have fun with hockey being a special time they can spend together.

I had to take 3 years off for personal reasons and when I had the chance to play again I was excited but extremely nervous also. She did amazing for her first time in over 20 years. She should be nothing but proud of herself 👍🏽

@Coach Jeremy ... So happy to see your wife pick up the sport. I could feel how nervous u were for her. Can you PLEASE keep this going as an online training series? Newer beer league players can get alot of tips/instruction for real life issues they face on and off the ice through your wife experiences.. (ie. fixing her skating, strategies or shooting etc). It would be awesome to see her progress and then also do a final before and after video. Afterall... its in your youtube channel name: "COACH Jeremy". YOU ARE THE BIGGEST HOCKEY TRAINING INFLUENCER ON UA-cam. PROVE IT! LETS SEE HER RESULTS!
This is so great for the kids to watch. I never saw my parents ever do any sports or hobbies and just assumed when you are an adult you quit which is what I did. Now I'm getting back into sports because I realized it's insane not to be playing something. It's fun, it keeps you fit and healthy and it's a social activity.
I just joined a league after not playing for 20 years also. I also smoke (but I am doing better about that). First game was an absolute nightmare, no legs, no conditioning. My second shift I partially fanned on a one timer in the slot and later in the game took a slapper right on the laces that I thought for sure I broke a bone in my foot. Luckily we had two weeks before second game because of Labor Day. I started getting up at 5am and going to stick and puck from 6a-7a before work. Second game was much better and I have continued my stick and puck routine and also found a few 15min workout videos that are hockey specific that I do. I really wish I would have done this long ago, it has given me added energy in my day to day life not just hockey. Anyone that is on the fence about playing again just do it, you will be so happy that you did. Last thing, after taking 20 years off it was like taking a time machine to the future as far as equipment, holy cow everything is so light. Skates sticks and gloves were awesome. And to have my new skates baked before using them and not have to worry about the break in period was awesome. Remember skate hard and keep your stick on the ice
If she gets more subs then you on her channel you and Hayden have to join a full time duet figure skating organization for content this winter

Just wanna say major props to Sammy for giving it her all. I thought she looked pretty good! And I’m sure she’s only gonna get better. Way to go. I was feeling nervous just watching, so thumbs up for pushing through all the anxiety. Was a great video. I’m working my way up to playing ball hockey in the spring, I’ve never played hockey in my life, I’m 28 and so excited. Have been practicing outside the last few weeks and it’s so fun. Thanks for the extra motivation Sammy!

I can relate to this, I came back to hockey after 25years. The last time I played I played my stick was a wooden Sherwood, skates were heavy and no passing over 2 lines.

Hi! I have sad news: I quit hockey. Because I trained in Russia and the coaches humiliated me and yelled a-lot for no reason. I started playing hockey this year and I quit. Love your videos

My best advice, hockey coaches are gonna yell- ya gotta get over it. They are trying to encourage you- what coaches love is respect and hard work. Don’t quit, just keep up and try as hard as you can!
@@CoachJeremy All teams in Russia are like that because the coaches are the same and they actually humiliate players.

I haven't played in about 19 years. but I'm skating again for the first time in about 7 or 8. the kids forced me into it, and it has been amazing. love the videos, can't wait to see you make the rink again!!!

She did much better than many of us😂 my first time on the ice I was 24. It was a wreck. Fast forward 5 years, still in the same ragged gear but I’m racking in goals every game. I’m decent. I’m thinking I’ll move up to A League next year.

I have been to that hockey store I live in Angus.
I just went the exact same thing this September. I enrolled in a beat league and had my first training in 22 years. I’m 41. I lost my game completely but god It felt so good to step on the ice all geared up. Hockey is the best.

i played as a kid too and now at 21 got back into the game, and also havent skated inbetween so for a decade or more been on ice only once, and the first time back it was not as graceful as hers
