You sir are my favorite UA-camr who covers bikes. I own a 2018 Kawasaki Z650 and have been looking at your videos specifically on the other iterations and it’s very sweet to see detailed coverage. I’ve never ridden on the bike besides once as a passenger so I’m still new to everything but you make it much simpler. There’s passion behind you and not many UA-camrs have that drive. There’s work to be done on the bike. Narrowing down on a battery but figured out the oil change pretty quickly. Only thing that I’m stuck on is if it’s possible to add a phone mount and charger outlet? Much thanks!
Great review, I have the 2022 white/red and I put the Kawasaki factory RED seat cowl on it plus the frame sliders and other engine protection I installed make it look more premium and not a single spec of green on mine, I don’t like green much lol. @@RayBowdenRides Just got mine! I'm 5'11 and the ergo seat makes it so much more comfortable. I didn't like the shifting and throttle at first, but I realised the best setting for smooth shifts is when the clutch is set as far as possible (#1). The throttle was so jerky, but I reduced it to nearly no slack and it's smooth now. The engine braking was a bit too much, but I'm learning how to manage it and it will probably reduce as the engine breaks in. Power is very nice and corners amazingly well. Still exploring the potential of the bike, which I've barely scratched the surface of. Thanks again for helping me make my decision!

Your videos are awesome and very helpful! I'm 41, 5' 10" 165lbs and have decided I want to learn to RIDE in life! The only experience I have was writing a Honda rebel 265 on country roads years and years ago. I like the naked bikes due to their seating position as I'm a little too fearful of a super sport but also more of an adrenaline junkie for a cruiser. I was debating between this and possibly the Z 900 as a first bike. I was looking at the 900 just because when I buy things for myself I take care of them and tend to keep them for a very very long time. I live in Florida but I will be buying my bike within the next 6 months from your dealership. I actually lived in upper Greenville for a while so DFW does have a little place in my heart. Since I am looking to keep the bike for a very long time and it may be the only bike I ever purchase do you have any thoughts on the z650 versus the z900 as a starter bike to long-term as well... Thank you for your help Ray!
Yes , from what your saying you wouldn't outgrow a Z900 , it so much fun and you won't get board of its power level capabilities. When you get ready I would love to meet you there! And I'm always available! Don't hesitate to reach out , here is my Fb link:facebook.com/share/8AD4PC3cUc7xjH4Q/?mibextid=qi2Omg
You won’t outgrow a 400. In Europe we are forced to start with low CC’s, so the highest you can start with is a 400cc if you do the A2 license. Now if you start at an age under 18, you can only start at 125cc., and THAT you will outgrow.
@shukun-luxxy I've heard the USA 🇺🇸 is considering this licensing system, Thanks for Watching and Commenting my friend 🙏🏻. Thanks for being apart of the Channel!
Bout to buy the Z900 for $8500 in the red colorway and trying to convince my wife to get the z650 in the matching colorway once I pay off the 900. Don't know why but I think it would be cool for us to have a "set" of matching Z's (and still be cheaper than some bikes alone). She used to ride a GSX500f and it was a turd, but looked good at least. Great review as always.

Thanks for Commenting and I'll be glad to boil it down a little, the 500 is more of a beginner bike, the 650 has I believe 18-20 more Hp, the 650 platform is awesome! Alot of people who buy 650's have them for years

Anyone thinking on a commuter bike: get it. I got mine january euro 5 2023 grey and red. Possibly take it with the red frame and wheels. 68 HP of very usable power. Unless you are 180+cm tall and more than 90kg it will suit you. Weights 189kg but feels lighter. 23km/l isn't enough. Push it a bit and still does 20km/l. Haha that's funny, I'm also looking between the 3 bikes. I'm more leaning towards z650. I rode this bike and it seems pretty nimble and has enough power for highway cruising and it has the torque for the street riding. Plenty of power for a new rider like myself to learn to master. Take my comment with a grain of thought as I don't have much experience.
I just look up a comparison, the seating position is the same. The handlebars on the z650 are angled up a bit more so your hands are an inch or so higher. The main difference for me would be the lack of a wind screen for that highway wind hitting you, but it looks like you can find aftermarket ones
