Damn Dante, thank you for this interview. I'm always curious on hearing and seeing how Peter Laird is doing and his thoughts. Thanks for uploading this conversation. Cheers brother TURTLE POWER!
Dante I appreciate this interview bro. Honestly man, I'm a skeptic I like diggin & finding out the TRUTH about sketchy stories behind what we are told/shown in the media. I wanna know EVERYTHING that happened leading up to him selling the rights of the tmnt to viacom (nickelodeon) . The story goes kevin got tired & wanted to venture towards other avenues so he eventually sold his half to peter, then later down the line peter sold the rights for 60 mil. That doesnt sound right to me. Would you sell your baby (which is worth WAY more than a measly 60 mil?) c'mon I feel like they were bullied because Peter was ALWAYS against the idea of selling out but then all of a sudden he sells & the only thing he can do now is publish up to 12 isses a year WTF is that????? Kevin is now only a creative consultant. & I always wondered why wasnt Laird made to be a consultant also. Again man smells fishy to me............
If you ever check out his blog, he talks about working on the 2003 cartoon and how frustrating it was that he couldn't have the same say in the 80's show and other adaptations. He felt he was unable to be hands-off with the property as long as he owned it. So for him it was a matter of all or nothing. Trying to juggle everything got to take the fun out of it, especially considering his main love is comics anyway.
Randomly came across this video. Pretty awesome you got to have a chat with Laird. I like both Eastman and Laird, but since Laird isn’t always in the spotlight it’s even better to see and hear from him. This is prob my fave interview with Laird just because of how casual it all feels. He’s just chillin, drawing and talking turtles. As this was filmed 5 years ago I hope he’s been well, health wise of course. He’s a gem. Hopefully we can get some more interviews or something with him before the worst happens.
I always wanted to meet Peter and Kevin cause TMNT means so much to me,I just wish they would be at a con near me cause it would be nice to get a custom drawing by both of them to frame and keep forever. TMNT is just awesome.
Bravo on this interview! You did a really great job with the video, questions, editing. I am glad to hear and see Peter Laird a co-creator of TMNT. Been reading the OG comics and I really enjoy them. Worth a read.
I only like the turtles when this dude is involved tbh. Not a fan of the 80s series or any of the mutants that were created form that series. I really only like the original comics and the 2003 series. That to me is the best version of TMNT.
Hello everyone! Can somebody tell me more about the Statues of the Turtles from Minute 1.44 till 1.57? Never seen them but would love to have/buy them? Thanks in advance for the help.
Yeah, Peter disliked the 87 cartoon cause he didn't have enough control over it, if he did, it would have been darker and more like the original comics, like 2003.
i kinda blame him for the demise of the TMNT franchise he sold the rights to the worse corporation (nickelodeon) in 2009 most people had a bad feeling .nick who has been on decline for quite some time they made the turtles into a fucking joke ever since thye got the rights
It started with Eastman not having interested anymore and sold he's share to Laird. Laird held it down but probably lost the love he once had with it since his once best friend dip out
Not to mention Eastman and Laird had a falling out. Could you imagine owning something partially made by an ex friend and co worker you don't speak to (or that won't speak to you)?
@@armaggon3105 you're welcome. From what I heard, Eastman and Laird had creative difference between them and disagreed as far as selling the rights to the franchise. There are also reports that , Laird was worn out too.
Thank you for the TMNT Peter and Kevin
Peter Laird inspires me, and I admire him for stating his honest opinion about the Michael Bay produced films.
Someone, please protect Peter Laird at cause. we cannot lose this man. He's a gem we need to keep safe
Damn Dante, thank you for this interview. I'm always curious on hearing and seeing how Peter Laird is doing and his thoughts. Thanks for uploading this conversation. Cheers brother TURTLE POWER!
Wow it's an awesome Interview. We love you Mr Laird. You too Mr. Eastman. Turtle Power!!!!

brocktonsfinest20 cause they’re getting old and maybe he wants to give a younger generation a shot at it

What an awesome idea TMNT turned out to be; Peter (and Kevin) sure created something special.
I love the first 1990 film of the teenage mutant ninja turtles too
He and Eastman are GOATED..thank for a great childhood
Thanks for this. Love me some peter laird. Discipline, passion, logic and heart

My favorite turtle is also Donatello too, well spoken Peter, were gonna miss you. May legacy of tmnt live on.
He’s not dead asshole

Love Lairds honesty. Even he knows when it comes to the movies nothing compares to the original.
wow nice interview
Tmnt makes my life better, i'm very glad!
He didn’t wanna sell , Kevin did
He sound like morty.
NOT FUNNY !!!
I wish I could see Peter I already meet Kevin Eastman in Lexington comic con and the next one will be Peter Laird
Where was this recorded? To my knowledge Mr. Laird doesn’t travel much to events these days.
2018. The title is dishonest
Over eleven minutes and the question of why they don't have nostrils never came up. Even Franklin the Turtle has nostrils.
TURTLE PRIME!
what con/signing was this at bro? good to see him, usually only see kevin involved these days

I wish there was movie or cartoon that adapted original comics straight up, without any changes.
the pulverized was never cured by donnie
Peter is a legend! Just wish the interviewer wasnt straight off a banana boat

Those are my shots from a Ninja Turtle exhibit in a Springfield, MA museum! It was from a personal collection I believe.
@@danteluna super nice would love to know more about those. Thanks for all the effort. Merry Christmas from Germany
Wonder what his favorite TV iteration is
2003 b/c it was closer to the their comics iteration.
I didn’t know that

Peter had a direct hand in the 2000s series; he was the producer I believe.
hes so quiet , i hear everything except him
he's a bit of an introvert, shy. plus he's 65 years old. y'know
his voice is like being cheese grated in the brain
Dacijo go to bed
@@brocktonsfinest20 You ain't tricking me into bed
Your ears are weak
you cant be raph and leo at the same time theyre polar opposites
No offense, but if you say you're a lot like Raphael, then that should be a sobering relization that you have a lot of maturing to do.
Why did tmnt 2012 have to end
The live action Turtles 3 movie was the best ever!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
You drunk?
