@Tyrael112 this is what gets me so angry at the anti gunners. They have no idea how much easier it is for a newbie or someone with less training to use a rifle like an AR15. Issue is the world isn't perfect you don't understand why people are committing crimes, the government is overtaxing the poor and trying to transition the country into communism, people get desperate because they're trying to feed families and survive and maybe thrive and well crimes are often times committed because of those reasons not everyone in America is afforded the same opportunities and the government doesn't do a thing to help those who need it, it's not a black and white concept, human greed and people's inability to stand up to the government are why crimes exist. Your paid to shut up while the rest around you suffer makes you part of the problem. People need to understand that when you introduce drugs on the Streets you introduce crime from irresponsible decisions when you create a poor class so you can be rich you create an organized system of crime so that they too can experience the American dream, our system is corrupt and nobody does anything.
Maybe just register all guns and dont hand them to any idiot asking for one in a mall. Switzerland has almost as many guns per citizen as the US but no shootings. If you have any charges in your history good luck getting guns. If you are from a "unfit country" no gun for you too etc. Under medicine or any other problems, no guns.
And this is one reason the AR platform is SO important (yeah, I know that was not an AR, but work with me here). A pistol was difficult for her, but a short, light rifle put her at ease and let her shoot comfortably. What an argument FOR semi-auto rifles!
A couple years ago, I got my husband a SA Hellcat Pro for his birthday. I wanted to get a rifle for teaching the kids to shoot too, but I didn't want separate ammo. So I ended up getting him a Ruger PC carbine as well. They may be his guns _but_ ....... the rifle is my gun.

@@christhayer5102 fully agree. Hand guns are often more difficult to get used too. I was checking out my buddies sub compact XDS and it’s a great little gun but awkward for my big hands lol. I would prefer taking them to the range a few times before having them on the podcast. Let them get comfortable where they want to explore larger caliber rifles and pistols. So they can see what it really means. Have them shoot an AR and a mini-14 and then ask them, what is the difference? Why should the AR be banned vice the mini-14? I would be interested in their opinion when they learn they are the same thing just look and operate differently. Letting them shoot a 12ga and showing how devastating it is vs a AR would also help. I see a ton of content potential by involving these two ladies and it could all be used to help bring more people to gun debate table with knowledge and experience vs opinion and fear.
What they don’t get is that in a world with guns, or let’s take it further and say a word without weapons at all, the biggest man is free to do whatever he pleases. I can’t take a 6’7” 300lb dude in a fist fight, but with a minuscule 115gr of lead on my side I stand an equal chance.
@@Shortfuse39 like he said in the video, they are beginners. It takes a while for a beginner to get use to handling them before throwing them into the ring with an AR or any large handgun or rifle. A while back (~1990?) Someone researched English county birth and death records and came up with some interesting numbers. Mid-1400's recorded homicide rates (knives, not guns) ran as high as 47.5/100K, and a century earlier, around Cambridge/Oxford, briefly ran as high as 110/100K. It's not the tool, it's intent.
Respect for the ladies for giving the experience a chance. Beverly, you should be commended for facing your fears and anxiety about guns and giving this learning opportunity a “shot”. Colin, you were the perfect teacher for these two. Thanks for all that you do!
No, they are now even more scared and confused. Most likely they will never agree to touch gun again in their life, or it will be very hard to convince them to visit the range. Very, very wrong approach was taken at the range.

Thank you. ❤ I am not 100% anti guns. I’m anti the crimes committed in large scale and how anti-regulations the 2A community is. And also extremely intimidated obviously. Having never used one.
Kudos to them for doing this. When I met the woman who became my wife, she was similar to this. Similar, but not 'anti-gun' just very intimidated and not into it at all. Starting with the FN 502 Tactical was a smart move, easing them in with something manageable but still realistic. Beverly pushing through her fear is commendable; it shows that sometimes fear is just a lack of understanding.
Awesome job. I just did the same thing as you last month. A long time friend of my wife moved out to New York many years ago and comes back to Minnesota every few years to visit. She noticed I am a gun enthusiast and asked why would anyone want or need a firearm. I informed her that it’s a second amendment right and we need them not only for hunting and sport but also for protection. I invited her out for a Saturday shoot at my private range and she was actually excited to try it. I started her out with my Ruger 10-22 shooting spinning targets and she had a blast. By the end of the day she had ran a few mags through the AR and AK , and of course my conceal carry 9mm. She even posed for a few photos of her holding various firearms so she could send them back to her family in New York city. We even have matching T shirts that say “Shooting buddies” that she purchased shortly afterwards. Keep doing what you’re doing my friend. Trump 2024 🇺🇸❤️

in a perfect world no one would need guns. but as women can you not see that a 200lb man can attack you. do horrible things to you, and then kill you. the gun gives you a chance to defend your self. evil will find a way. guns save lifes.
Even if no one else had guns you would still get killed by multiple attackers or other methods because guns keep you safe by having lethal force from far away. Until you have been punched hard enough that your vision changes and your eyes start to close then maybe you should reconsider the seriousness of fist fights, knife attacks, and blunt force trauma😂
"a world without guns would be a safer one." And a world without bad people where everyone has their own unicorn would be awesome too, but those things are impossible. The only thing that ever happens is that guns are taken from decent people that then become prey of criminals and tyranny. And a world without guns wouldn't be very safe for the thousands of Americans that use them for defense each year. Without firearms, hundreds of women would have been assaulted and possibly ended just last year alone.
What is interesting is at the end you were talking about how tech giants don't want gun videos to be recommended, which I definitely could believe. Awesome video! I’m a 60 year old white guy, recently married to a 60 year old black lady from Kenya in Africa. She isn’t full blown anti gun but she does lean that way. For Christmas I took her and her/our two grown children to my gunrange. We took an eight hour gun safety course. Afterwards we all went to the pistol range and shot 22lr and then 9mm (the instructor was awesome). Our son loved it surprise surprise LOL. The wife and daughter both enjoyed and appreciated the experience, but still aren’t going to be gun lovers. The important thing is that they both understand that guns are just tools and are only dangerous when they are not respected or misused by individuals.
She's a person with that much anxiety, who then tells everyone that they have to give up their guns so that she will feel safe? That is one hell of a bubble she lives in and who ruins things for everyone else. So scared that they think everyone should conform to what they want or else they have a panic attack while at the same time being narcistic and want everyone's attention to know how anxious they are.
Except she broke out of that bubble and gave it a try, perhaps changing her perspective and being more neutral, so let's cheer that on instead 👏🏻 we want more people to try it before forming an extreme opinion
Props to her for breaking out a bit. Some people just need some encouragement and a bit of comfort. One of the primary issues with the 2A community is we come across as elitist and unapproachable.
Some people simply don't have the ability or desire to physically oppose others and can't understand violence, even a violent act that is just. She has probably been told since childhood that gun's are evil and only cause suffering. Doing something you have been taught is wrong can be mentally difficult. Even though you logically and morally know it isn't part of your brain is still viewing that act as forbidden. A friend or family member may have been injured or killed by a firearm. I have learned to never assume why someone dislikes firearms or other weapons, people are different and have different experiences.
I totally agree with you. She will never keep an open mind and will continue to want all gun rights revoked. I don’t believe for a second her experience, as great as it might have been with Colion, has changed her mind the least bit. She strikes me as the typical NYer that thinks she knows better than everyone else.
Proud of Beverly immensely. Not only in being open to shooting, despite her stance, but for genuinely overcoming her fears and anxiety (in general) and pushing through to the other side of it. That takes courage, big or small, and might not have happened if she didn’t feel safe or supported through that journey. This is the first video I’ve come across of yours and you’ve done an immense service in this video alone. Earned my sub.
Really happy for both Beverely and Crystal for giving it a go! I definitely prefer rifles (i learnt on those first as a kid) so i get the handgun nervousness. Kudos to both women!!!!!
Teaching gun safety is #1. Teaching them how important our Rights are, and being able to feel comfortable and confident is job #2. Now hopefully these young ladies have a different stance.
@@ViktorSv-fc1gf Kind of a cringe comment, creating an elitist gatekeepy environment. People need guidance. I understand the heavy sarcasm, and it was not well received.
I was once shooting at a gun range when a young lady was wearing an open type blouse a few bays over with a male friend. Suddenly the brass from one spent round flew into her top. To hear her it was as if it was the hottest thing that ever touched her skin. She had to reach in and pull out the hot brass out.
Unlikely in this scenario unless she's standing to the right of either of them. He probably had whichever of them not shooting stand back. At a range with divided stalls or several shooters lined up next to each other, she would be more vulnerable to that.
I absolutely love teaching new shooter women. I am a retired LEO who was a firearms instructor. I loved teaching people who had no idea about what to expect. Even the ones who were afraid. Those are the ones who listen, retain and sometimes excel. Great job, I love your take people to the range videos
It was nice to see the first girl get past her fear and negativity and give it a try. She seemed to really like shooting the small rifle. I think for a lot of people, holding the pistol out in front of them, for some reason, gives them insecurity, but when they pull that rifle back and "hug" it against their shoulder, it feels more like part of their body and therefore more comfortable. Specially with the smaller caliber carbines.
Watching that lack of confidence and fear turn into a smirk with an "I'm a rifle girl" was amazing. Just goes to show how a little care and temperance can help someone understand and appreciate something that was scary and alien; more importantly something that is one of their God given rights. *AHEM* Looking at you Harry Sisson

I've never understood the no one should have guns argument. In the context of history they are very new yep people have been finding ways to kill each other for thousands of years without guns.
It's human nature to be emotionally more focused on the ways people die in society that seem more brutal like Gun violence than focus on how many people die of things like car accidents compared to Guns with or without drunk drivers operating those cars. They care about getting rid of guns because the manner of how those fewer people die is emotionally more repellent reaction intolerable. If people die in a car accident or solders get blown up overseas that is all a "part of the plan" of society on any given day because it's within the Overton window of bad things to happen that society will accept in comparison to any peaceful citizens getting killed by gun violence. They use this emotionality over less deaths by gun than by cars to say tens of millions of Gun owners need their rights curtailed if not outright removed. It's not logical, it is emotional.

Like someone else said: take an intro course if you can. Highly recommend this!! You can actually do a majority of gun training at home, without ammo. Mastering firearms safety is crucial before even getting to a range. You can dry fire, use snap caps, draw from concealment, invest in something like the Mantis to see how your shots are landing… all without ammo or recoil. I highly recommend doing dry fire exercises when you first arrive at the range. Your first shot is likely going to be super accurate because you train the recoil anticipation out of your system allowing you to make better shots. It can be a very meditative process. You can learn how to time your shots with your breathing and filter distractions that would throw your shot. Even when I worked at the gun range these tips always worked for me and helped me save money on ammo and targets.
I did this with my younger brother who was somewhat hesitant about guns as well. At the time I was working armed security. I took him to one of my regular shooting drills to shoot my guns. I took my duty .38 and my .45 as well. He left after shooting both my guns and wasn't so scared about guns. He's still not sure if owning a firearm is for him but now he's less scared of them.
Its nice to see Beverly who was not just nervous, but actually scared of the gun, continue on, listening to what you had to say, and get to the point of shooting the guns. She has more to overcome. It's wonderful that she did not back down and give into her fear.
Big respect for taking the time, energy, and having the patience to help out getting people acclimated to shooting. It's not easy, especially when that anxiety is real high - as you pointed out. I sadly am just too burned out teaching these days, I go to the range and do my rounds, keep proficiency, and then disappear back into the daily. It's great though seeing people patiently and calmly teach others like this - again, big respect.

My wife was not a gun banner but she personally wanted nothing to do with them when we met. But I was very gentle and talked her into trying a .22 rifle. The particular rifle looked very menacing but in actuality was very easy to aim, operate and fire. It was an Adler AK22. It looks almost identical to an AK47 but is a .22 rim fire. Since it's heavy the recoil is almost nonexistent. After shooting it several times and really enjoying it we switched her to a Ruger .22 Single Six. Again, a very easy gun to operate. Well, that was 19 years ago. Today she has a hot pink AR15, a couple of Extar 9mm "Pistols" and a nice Smith and Wesson 9mm semi auto. She really wants a Glock 19, maybe for Christmas! But you are 100% right Colin, these people who have been taught that guns are bad to the point of having irrational fear of them can be shown that they are very enjoyable if they are treated right and especially by someone who understands that.
The number one advantage of firearms that anti-gun folks miss. A guy 5'7" and 120 lbs isn't gonna stand toe to toe with someone 6'4" unless the hand to hand skill gap is just insanely lopsided. They aren't helping vulnerable individuals by disarming them.

she says: No one should have guns.
what she should be saying: No one should ever commit crimes.

Rifles are definitely more user friendly contrary to popular belief.
Should have them back on for a followup interview. Have their opinions changed now that they have some exposure to these firearms?
I second that.
Dude... I think you missed the fucking point.... 😂
Beverly trying to catch hot brass wearing that. Surely someone told her that’s not smart range attire?
Try convincing a girl that's she's "wearing inappropriate clothes". Even if you're right, good luck.

You should make this kind of content as a series.

I’ve been “bit” by semi auto pistols. So yeah rifles, shotguns and rifles.

Beverly.. this is my rifle... and this is my gun!

@@brainmind4070 She is wrong in that there will never be and never has been a “perfect world”. So there is no point in even mentioning such child like nonsense. This world is extremely violent and hostile and we, in the west, have forgotten that fact. It’s also wild that a woman, the weaker sex, would be fighting to not have the very thing that would equal the playing field when fighting off a man.
@@SGxShadow Unhinged responses like this to a perfectly benign comment are why I own a gun. Calm down. I don't know why you feel the need to argue with me.
She is one of those girls who wants to meet a bear...
It’s very self rewarding to turn the mindset around, good job educating these ladies away from the dark side. They did well
great video! everyone needs a girl like Bev in their lives, she's a good vibe.
My wife was “anti gun” when I met her. One time to the range, and the worm turned. Now… She has more firearms than I have. She even built her own AR15. I’m proud of her. 🇺🇸
It freaks the tourists out,or people that just moved here, but Wyoming boys think it's cool,I have gotten dates over talking guns
Dude, that was an extremely interesting podcast.
Getting PSTD from just being around a gun is wild 👀👀😬
My daughter is a little autistic, we had to go by ourselves to the range with 22's to get her more comfortable.
The first time I tried taking her to the range a guy was shooting a deer rifle in the lane next to us and she almost had a panic attack.
@918Mitchell Good job taking your time and allowing her to become more comfortable with it all. That is a big part of it all. Especially if you want to ensure safety is always at the forefront. Best wishes to you and yours!! To ALL!! 💖🙏💖
If she's been told guns are scary all her life you can understand why she's terrified.
Speaking from experience, this was me. I only associated guns with gang bangers and law enforcement. That's it. I never even considered them as defensive tools for protecting your family. Pandemic happened... I was like "I need something to protect my family." and boom... I'm voting for Trump. LOL!
I have ptsd from being around any weapon. That being said, I still want a gun to protect myself.
I see both of them in the future becoming pro gun, when i first started i wasnt anti gun i was opened minded and now its an addiction. NOW IM PRO GUN FULL BLOW PRO GUN!
Thank you for taking the time with these ladies Colion!
Even if they didn’t have a change of opinion, it’s encouraging to see these young ladies try. How can you debate the topic if you have never shot / held one.
Been waiting for this video after watching the podcast
Oh Maan this is an awesome video Mr. C. Respect to both the woman for seeing the other true side of gun owners how it’s supposed to be shown. Proud of em and yea they are powerful and haveing a gun will keep em that much more safer from the criminals. Hope they use there 2A rights as every American 🇺🇸 should. God Bless.
What works for my wife is, imagine you have a device that can prevent you from being "graped". When she puts it in that perspective, the confidence and ability to use a firearm increases 20 fold.
That's how I frame it too, but more general with "imagine you have a device that makes you more powerful than anyone who might attack you"
Like they say, "God made man, Colt made man equal"
A device that lets a smaller stature woman stand on equal footing to a man that is several physical tiers above.
@treedoor
The calmness and patience, educating them. Imagine if these classes were available in high school. The mind set would be totally different.
100% props to those gals. I need to go watch the interview with them, but they seem like they weren't disrespectful about differing opinions. That's always great when you can debate without devolving into an argument. And then on top of that, being willing to at least try shooting without just shutting down any chance of it. A great video
You are the 2A ambassador!
07:17 good reflexes there... she was about to break that angle.. pretty normal for first timers. I also noticed how you loaded one round at a time for the first pistol shots.. nice, I do the same.
That looked like she about to flag him right in the face... there went the gun safety.
1:37 my man turned a double date into content. That’s the most masculine entrepreneurial thing ever. Love this guy

Thank you for making this video. One thing people who are around guns often forget is how genuinely afraid people are of them. A lot of us have been shooting for so long we do not remember what it was like to first hold a gun. I thought you delt with the girls with compassion and patience. Great job!
I watched the podcast and this video. Calm open discussion is something we need more of, and taking the time to give them hands on experience while being calm and understanding with someone that anxious is also needed. But her being brave enough to step out her comfort zone even after getting a little overwhelmed is damn courageous in my book. Hats off to u!
*3:30** You didn't get the memo about SDI??*
The fact that they're just a predatory scam that rely on the GI Bill?
Please say more...
@@khyron4evaan online gunsmith class I think says it all. But just in case, after spending 24k their graduates are finding out that it doesn’t give them an advantage when looking for a job.
My niece gets anxiety over just about everything, from dogs barking to fireworks going off. Strangely, she doesn't have any anxiety over shooting guns. And she is a decent shot too.
2:02 that I’m down I’m ready was cute as hell❤
Your knowledge and patience is what won the day. This was my first time coming across your channel. I am now a subscriber!
Beverly should’ve worn better attire for it. The gun is an equalizer for people who lack size and strength.
The number one advantage of firearms that anti-gun folks miss. A guy 5'7" and 120 lbs isn't gonna stand toe to toe with someone 6'4" unless the hand to hand skill gap is just insanely lopsided. They aren't helping vulnerable individuals by disarming them.
@@PushrodMutant or the confidence is there. Sometimes just the promise of resistance is enough to make someone back down.
@@PushrodMutant Yep, with equal training and fitness/youth, size & strength will win the fight 99/100 times. Perhaps even more often.
Her attire was perfectly fine for making a UA-cam video.
@@forthehonorforge4840 Nobody is talking about pre-combat scenarios. Confidence won't win a fight against an equally skilled opponent that's twice your size mid fight.
