Oh Nico, we all remember with fondness watching the huge smile on your face, the punch in the air and your scream of delight when you won the G1 Christmas Hurdle on Verdana Blue. Do you remember that celebration, Nico? That expression of pure joy? Funny that, I don't either. But I do remember what happened that day. It was there for all to see. In a Grade 1. On terrestrial television. And hardly anyone in the racing world mentioned it.
Chapman at his finest. When I die, I suspect my last image in my mind will be Sprinter winning the 2016 Champion Chase. My favourite race of all-time. Nico was brilliant that day, as he usually is.
Nico is THE most underrated jockey, he is on a par with Scu, Ruby, McCoy, etc, not quite as good as Francs (best jockey ever), I always add an extra oomph to any horse I fancy if he is on it. Superb horseman and deserves much more recognition and praise. Just look at his room and all those photographs, a loving humble family man, this interview has only raised my admiration for the man. One of the most honest interviews I have seen.
Nico De Bonville is in a similar position to Tom Queally. Both were given the huge responsibility of riding equine superstars - i.e. Constitution Hill and Frankel. The pressure to deliver a victory in every race must be immense. Nico will be aware of how Tom Queally must have felt before and after every race . Excitement, trepidation, followed by a massive sense of relief when the race was over and won again.
What a nice guy (refering to Nicolai of course...we all know Matt). If you want to get into debate i see it this way: Best horse last ten years: Altior - Best Trainer last 15 years : Nicky Henderson - Best jockey for the next 20: Nico de mtfkBoinville!
The best trainer and yet Nico and Nicky never seem to seem to get big winners on a Saturday. Since Barry Geraghty retired, for some reason, the so called best trainer never get the winners. Recently, unless Nico is on Shiskin, he is always rowing away near the back. In Ireland, Mullins and Elliot delivers all the time. Do the maths!!!!!
I read somewhere that he has the highest winning percentage of jockeys in close finishes. And the way he won in Shiskin last time seems to support that.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂. I don't bet on any horse that Nico is the Jockey for nowadays especially on the hurdles as it always falls. Not my favourite Jockey when betting!
What a very humble and genuinely lovely man.

Nico is my favourite jump jockey, flawless in the big races especially
Great job Matt, fascinating to learn a little about NdB. We all know he takes some stick, but this shows what a great man he is .

Life stories with Matt Chapman and Nico De Boinville. Who needs Piers Morgan when you have Matt Chapman.
Who needs Piers Morgan full stop
Probably the one time I have been able to stand Chapman great questioning here and Nico a true gent
Great honest and hard working gentleman

There's a little touch of Henry Cecil there in the way he talks. Certain to be a top trainer in 10-20 years
Me and my brother had a great day at aye races a few years ago thanks to Nico&Different Gravy
Nico is so unassuming and self deprecating. But he's definitely the real deal at elite NH
racings top table.
Great jock and he's going to be a very good trainer, one day
Would love Chappers to interview JP, Tony Mullins and Rich Ricci
Nice pixels 720

Mullins best trainer by a long long way
Nab is total rubbish, at least 50 jockeys who are better than him
Mullins and Skelton by miles
Damn fine Jockey
Painful. Can’t see Nico wasting his time being hectored by this oaf again
oh jolly hockey sticks, its tim nice but dim
Such a pity that intelligence and decorum unnerves you.
@@charliebear1436 , ok tory boy
He sounds like a silver spoon 🥄
Not the best in a finish but gr8 horseman

Does he ride for a trainer who was banned. The media soon forgive and forget.
My least favourite jockey seems like a decent chap though.
The worst jockey for the best stable in England. Not a great rider for me, sorry.
Bloody boring
He’s a terrible jockey let’s be real. Can only win on top top class horses e.g. shishkin and con hill- anything else he’s useless on.
You don’t win 31 grade 1’s if your a terrible jockey.
@@thomascooper1144 like I said, can only win on top class horses.

@@chickenconnoisseursdad2725 he’s useless on any horse that isn’t top draw. A jockey like Brian Hughes is so so much better than Nico.
@@JPwhoknows Just stop it ...Top class jockey ..Low class comment.
