Casey, your mom Sandy is a sweetheart! Eating healthy is so rewarding, especially when it comes to your outlook on life and how much better the right foods make you feel! I struggle with that 'sweet tooth's curse also. After being diagnosed with diabetes, I'm relearning how to eat a low-carb diet. Some days are more challenging than others. For me, it's hard to be around foods that I know aren't good for me, but those are the ones that tempt me the most. You've got this Casey, you can definitely do this! I had 3 months of no sugar (dropped 23 lbs) and did well until I went to New Orleans. It's been 2 months later and going to start back up. My morning smoothies totally helped, along with always having my favorite healthy foods on hand, including roasted sweet potatoes. I love your FB stories and so happy I found you here in UA-cam. I aspire to having gardens like yours.

Your Mom is adorable and I totally understand about loving food. I also come from an Italian family and everything centers around the kitchen, cooking and food. So it is important to eat healthy. Love your Mom’s table center piece (I may need to borrow that idea - Salute!❤️).
Smoothies are what I have for lunch everyday (for years), I always add a bit of oats in mine. (The doctor always marvels over my cholesterol levels, I chalk it up to the smoothies). I prefer a bit of bananas in mine as well. When I want a sweet treat I do a healthier chocolate milkshake I add a couple of frozen bananas, a teaspoons or so of cocoa powder and a splash or two of milk of choice and water if needed. The struggle is real! So nice seeing your mom, must try her pickles.
Today really resonated with me. Please share with your Mom a sweetener she will really like, Bocha Sweet. She can order it online and it has no impact on blood sugar. It measures 1 for 1 and has no after taste. They even have a powdered sugar for icing and other times you need it. Their is a sugar free syrup called Choc zero. She can get it online as well. I use their maple pecan for pecan pies and my family prefers it. Thank you I've been on this journey for a while searching for little ways to help!

Awe, moms❤️ My parents stayed with us for a few weeks(their house burnt down😞but nothing was lost that can’t be replaced😇) BUT we all gained weight in that few weeks! What is with moms(Grandparents) always wanting you to eat, lol I’d forgotten how much food was always available living at home🥰God Bless

Casey, grab an extra bunch or more of bananas when you shop and cut them up at the right ripeness. Freeze and pull whenever you want a smoothie. Since the garden in the season is providing veges in abundance we don't have to go to the stores just to get bananas. Also with good long-term food storage (chia, flax, buckwheat for example) I try to extend the time I don't have to go shopping.

Great ‘real life’ video Casey! Struggling with low energy and poor diet with Covid/ life changes this past year too. We are getting lots of healthy veggies from the garden now. Wondering how you clean your broccoli? I expect a little dirt and some bugs but those little worms/caterpillars on my broccoli about did me in- eeewww- found it difficult to get them out even after soaking in cold vinegar water. Rx for any tips and your mom is adorable!!
Get a mason jar attach to your blender, saves you from having to use a glass and clean the blender. Saw this on a video, mason jars attach right to your blender. Just a thought.
I would suggest adding some MCT oil or half an avocado for healthy fats and some collagen powder -hold the yogurt. Dairy is not healthy. You can make kimchi as a side for probiotics
I've been hesitant to show myself in videos because I got rear-ended & was unable to work afterward, was pregnant when I was rear-ended, so had about 30 lbs. of baby weight on top of gaining weight from not working, and then the pandemic... so I have gained about 50 lbs.! I never have energy, I am always sore now, etc. I can eat healthy all day but at night, I get a huge sweet tooth. So I try to go to bed early before the sweet tooth hits, but when my son won't go to bed it's hard!
I just got done reading the book cleanse to heal by the medical medium, it was a game changer! I had low energy, brain fog, now I feel like I’m back to myself and I’ve only been doing this for about a week and a half maybe two weeks! And I don’t go super strict, but two of my meals a day are smoothies or juices. Check it out, I really think it would help you!

I just started freezing my bananas too..life changer! I wish I had a good way to make my cucumbers last longer
