I chose the 300 over the 400 Xmax as, although the 300 has a bit less power than the 400, you’re not losing actually that much, and the 300 is a lot lighter, and I easily get about 240 to a tank, (plus it’s a grand cheaper), and the rest of the bike is almost identical to the 400, although the front brake is only a single disk on the 300. I use it a lot on dual carriageway / motorways and can easily get north of legal speeds. So it was a no-brainier for me.
@LJcoolRides I'm in a similar position to you. I own a yamaha mt07 and looking to downgrade to an x max 400 and will be travelling into london daily about 20 miles on the m1. I have owned a xmax 125 and loved it and test drove the 400 but not the 300 and really liked it but wasn't able to test it on the motorway. Did you ever end up making the switch and how did u find it?
Hey scooter lab, do you guys run any POV reviews on latest scooter models w/instrumented tests and metric data by any chance? A good reference point would be motorcyclist magazine, they provide dyno numbers, wet weight, even zero - 60 acceleration times etc. fuel capacity all that jazz. Very helpful when narrowing down a large market.
Forza 300 2019 model is very good and for me, easily enough power. We go two up touring, no problem. Easily does 70mph two up all day. Only niggle is being Italian built, the finish in one or two places is, at best, acceptable.
Really would prefer it if manufacturer's used dual clutch transmissions with manual control override instead of CVT's, anyone else agree? I mean of course a full out manual with clutch would be the most ideal, but not many scooters allow for that from an ergonomic standpoint.
I felt like that when they introduced the STELLA auto, but that based on a classic styie SCOOTER, but with this kind of SCOOTER you may as well get a full on MOTORCYCLE . I sort of dislike the BURGMAN for that very reason. But that's just me. Still a idea tho .
I enjoy your reviews. I must ask though...with a maximum load capacity of 355 lbs for the Xmax 300, would that be too weak for a 215 lb man who plans on commuting daily on highways?
My mate Stanley 😂 I’m on a piaggio 125 for London ridin now but at 6f 2” and 210lbs I think this one is better. I don’t think I need the daddy tmax yet
Great video . How does the xmax 300 compare to this. I'm then between the 300 and the 400 .I'd it worth the extra money . Top speed Range/mileage Acceleration ?
@@ScooterLabUK thanks I've been doing some research today and that seems to be the case. Most are recommending the 300 apparently its only an extra 5mph top end but heavier and a bigger older engine means fuel consumption is a lot higher .
The 300 is well capable as a first or second bike, I do most of my long distance work on a Vespa GTS 300 and the XMAX is a better all-round scooter. You can easily cover 300-mile days on either the 300 or 400 and I have done quite often.

Any thoughts on this versus new Honda Forza 300?
I'd like to know this too. The Honda has less horse power. So would be exciting to see the difference in handling

more leg room like the T max ?
Wow they missed it keeping the mirrors on handle bars !! OMG !
when will this come to Asia, to Thailand; Need the extra leg room
mirrors appear to be turned around from normal viewing. Can get longer stems ?

How’s the rear suspension? Rate from 1 to 10 pls.
MotoChill on the standard settings around 7.

It'll be fine Michael.

That exhaust muffler will scrape the ground when acting sporty on this" sporty scooter"
Thinking of buying one second hand. Nice video, terrible music.😊
What is the front fork diameter of X Max 400?
What is the price of yamaha x max 400 & 300 in india and what is the launching date

Top speed
Range/mileage
Acceleration ?
kryptonitefitness personally I’d go for the 300. Lighter and not much less power, cheaper to run and maintain.

kryptonitefitness see if a local dealer has a demo and take one out for a few hours if possible.
How do you compare this to the XMax 300? Is the 300 sufficient as a 2nd bike for commuting/short journeys and dial carriageways (2 up?)

London ridin now but at 6f 2” and 210lbs I think thisI won;t take it for granted one is better. I don’t think
Please remove the music, spoils the whole video.
