    I could listen to Julie London all day. Alas I don’t have any of her albums on vinyl - I don’t often see them and if I do they’re usually battered. One day ! lol. Another great haul ! Cheers.

      At one point Ryan tapped into a nice lot of super clean Julie London. She really is amazing. I’m hoping we come across more minty Julie London in this unit. I’ve too have seen my fair share of battered Julie London records. Thanks for watching, Andy.

    John Hammond Jr's Dad Helped spark and pretty much got Bob Dylan started on Columbia. He also convinced Columbia Records to re release Robert Johnson's recorded work which became "King Of The Delta Blues Singers" in 1961. Love love Eydie and Johnny Rivers !

      The father / son history of these two is incredible. When you have a chance.. read the wiki page on John Hammond Sr. One of key individuals in this whole blues/ rock n roll folk deal ! He discovered, or rather turned out Stevie Ray as well on Columbia

    Hi Brother Steve, great dig.
    That is cool Chuck Berry still playing in the jukebox.
    I love the 50’s and 60’s oldies.
    Mack the knife - Bobby Darin is a great song. I always try to slip it in at gigs.
    Bobby Darin is great. I love his swinging songs.
    I like soundtrack, always great find.
    I like Julie London too. Beautiful voice and a beautiful lady.
    I love that 64’ in the background. My dad had one. The Impala is my favorite car all-time.
    65 SS Chevy Impala with the spitfire lights. Super sexy
    Eydie is great! Where is Steve Lawrence.
    I love Steve Lawrence. He just pass away. May his memory always be a blessing.
    Great video! Awesome job!!!!
    Can’t wait until the next one. Have a wonderful one
    Blessings

    There is a great mix of records and some real jems in that storage unit. I like how you addressed the overly picky question about garage storage. Guys don't realize that when they buy a beautifully archived record at their favorite shop that it very well likely came from a garage or storage unit that was left for decades and ultrasonically cleaned and re sleeved in store before jacking up the price to Discogs median. Clifton's name is pronounced Chen ear. Lovin' the records, Steve ! Spooky Tooth did an album "I Broke Your Heart and I Broke Your Jaw" I had no idea that they took the title from that single ! My favorite so far is Bobby Darin's "Mack The Knife" Wow !!

      Thanks JT! Some individuals make it their life’s work to find fault in anything and everything they can. I can appreciate and respect the questions about excessive heat and warping concerns. But I’ve had to address a few clearly intentional snide comments about the massive amount of records Ryan acquires and some calling it junk and a waste of time. I think I’m done giving those individuals my response time. The videos speak for themselves. At the end of the day we love what we do and we’re finding great records while having fun.
      I greatly appreciate you sharing the correct pronunciation of Clifton’s last name. That Spooky Tooth trivia blew my mind and broke my jaw lol. The Bobby Darin is a real treasure!

      Many times records are incredibly durable, and a few times not. In my experience.. They are very durable and survive decades of hot & cold in storage. I speak from years of experience , just like you and your partner. I had guys say the were concerned about bringing records back in a suitcase from overseas.. What the altitude ? I have never had a record damaged from doing just that.

      I was really disappointed when I learned of the Chuck Berry disk being so badly warped. It still sounds really good coming out of the jukebox. I won’t put in the lineup until I talk to my Jukebox Tech. If he says it won’t harm the tonearm or stylus I’ll leave it in. Appreciate you watching. ✌🏽

    Records survive UPS/FedEx heat, death traps delivery vans on the regular. I wouldn’t worry about storage unit & warping too much.
    How easy or difficult is to replace the cartridge on that JB Steve?

    You can flatten vinyl in oven. lot's of YT videos telling you how to do it. I had good results, just be patient with it to avoid ending up with a molten blob of vinyl instead of a hundred dollar record. Record flatteners work on exactly the same principle of slight heat upped in small increments so not to damage vinyl and slight pressure again increased in small increments. I used two glass cutting boards for the press and very low heat on oven to make the vinyl malleable. Heat it take it out press it. If still warped leave in oven for extra minute and try pressing again. Experiment on a worthless record first would be sensible. Does Ryan have any female relatives who would like to get married so I can get the family vinyl access? lol.

    • @TheVinylRecordMission
      @TheVinylRecordMission  6 місяців тому

      Hi Brian. Thanks for the tip. I’m pretty handy with the oven. I just might test out your recipe with a less valuable record. Appreciate you sharing your knowledge. Hahaha. As far as becoming a member of the family goes. Sorry there are currently no opportunities available. 😂 We can however appreciate your willingness to suffer the agony of marriage for the opportunity to dig through records. Now that’s a dedicated collector! 😂 ✌🏽💪🏽👍🏽👍🏽

    The records won’t warp.

    • @TheVinylRecordMission
      @TheVinylRecordMission  6 місяців тому +1

      We’ve never actually been able to prove whether or not some records warp. Maybe a few records out of 10s of thousands warp maybe not. We’ve had many storage lockers like this over the years in sweltering hot temperatures and warping has never been a widespread issue. I expect this won’t be the last time the question is asked. Hell I’m more worried about my old ass getting warped while digging in the California summer heat.

    • @vinylrichie007
      @vinylrichie007 6 місяців тому +1

      @@TheVinylRecordMission The warped records most likely were already warped. I had records in storage and had no problem when stored in a box. I did store some records flat once. Now those did warp.

    • @TheVinylRecordMission
      @TheVinylRecordMission  6 місяців тому +1

      @@vinylrichie007 That all makes sense. I could tell the Chuck Berry record had been warped for years. Stacking records flat is certainly the kiss of death when heat is introduced.

      You’re so right, Mark. Most people didn’t take care of their records. I’m finding a lot of the records in this storage are in amazing condition for their age.
