  • Hey friends,
    Too many options can sometimes have a negative impact on our creativity - this is why I’m a big fan of simplicity and limitations in my creative process. One thing for example I like to do when creating new sounds, is limiting myself to only 3 things and get the most out of these as I did in this example: an arp, a synth and a delay. Hope you dig the result and can take something away from it!
    You can find this patch and many other sound patches for Ableton Live, sample packs and more on my Patreon: / mileskvndra
    Thanks for tuning in,
    Miles

    Well done. as always!
    I've found Drift to be the most useful when doing sound design while not needing to use mouse and keyboard at all, since I still only have Push 2 and a laptop for my secondary setup.
    As for the inability to apply LFO to specific parameters outside of the mod matrix, there is a Max For Live device for Push 3 that allows for assigning LFOs to any parameter in standalone. I think it's just called LFO For Push.

      Thanks Remy! Yeah Drift is great and very well integrated into Push, love this Synthesizer a lot! And I definitely need to check out the LFO for Push, however I would really expect a company like Ableton to make their basic devices work on both Live and Push 3 Standalone.

      @@MilesKvndra Yeah I agree. Obviously some of the functions are possible, so I wish they would implement a lot of those basic features in standalone. Creating racks and assigning macros would be cool, but I could see how the values would be hard to cover on a small screen. But I think it would be great if some more of those features would be available. I'm saving for Push 3 either way, but it would be great.

    I struggle with this approach with Ableton, as there are so many options near at hand. That's why I've moved to hardware when it comes to making music.

      @MilesKvndra  Місяць тому +3

      Yeah I can understand, it can quickly become overwhelming. I like to limit Ableton Live with all its options and then really think about which elements a piece of music needs. Coming from hardware this structured approach definitely helps a lot!
