Nice examples of using the FLy Rig with other pedals. The trick is to get the levels of your pedals equal to your "amps" clean signal. Once you do that it's very smooth/ transparent when you kick it in or out from the pedals. The Tech 21 rigs are a great alternative to buying 3 or 4 separate pedals for a lot of situations. Thanks for posting.
Nice demo, Ernie... sounds great! I know most people see the FlyRig5 as a small all-in-one, and it does work well on it's own. I bought mine when they first came out and got the idea very early on that it would be a fantastic unit to build a compact pedal board around. I have a Pedaltrain Jr with, in order, from the guitar --> Dunlop CryBaby Mini --> TL "Klone" Drive --> ProCo RAT --> Diamond Comp Jr --> TL808 (TS-type) drive --> FlyRig5 --> Diamond Memory Lane Jr --> EHX LPB1 Booster --> Tech21 RotoChoir Leslie Sim.... then, depending on the situation, I either go direct to board (in mono OR stereo from the RotoChoir) or in either mono to a 13w Fender Excelsior Pro or in stereo to the Excelsior and an AC15 (I use both amps for a little more punch on a larger stage!) With 4 drive pedals (including the Plexi), I can get a multitude of sounds. Placing the compressor in the middle of those four allows me to get both the pre-gain and post-gain compressor sounds. I set the DLA up as either a doubling, almost "chorus-ey" effect with the delay time very low, lots of level and repeat and a little drift to give you that doubled "Robert Palmer" type guitar sound, or as a slap-back. I then use the Memory Lane Jr for longer delays. The Roto-Choir gives a great flange-ey-type modulation, and allows me to run in stereo when I want to. The LPB1 is set for a post gain lead boost. Incredibly versatile and ridiculously compact!!
They should make a FlyRig with an XXL build in replacing the Plexi section. I think that was the best sound...when you had the XXL in front of the FlyRig.

Awesome real-world demo. I appreciate you taking the time to share.
I have the Cali model. I love it. I wish it had a compressor and an auto wah instead of the boost. Even with just one setting.

Sounds great. Beautiful guitar too. Which brand is it?
It's a Jim Soloway Swan.
