Man U look like u r in your own world having fun. You put a smile on my face and thanks for showing how to use the Mac 707 too
You're missing the whole point that it can "now" Auto Slice across the pads. Before the update it was always possible to chop up a sample in a drum kit.
Years ago, we did the same job with an AKAI S 1000 :-D
And it took forever :( my wasted youth)
Reminds me more of Roland's old rack samplers. Their S760 and others would let you hookup a screen, so you could see the waveform.
Mine comes in friday and I can't believe I found someone who has the same interests as me as in how I want to USE the groovebox.. Thank you!
If you like old machines and modern ones, the MC707 might be the perfect all-in-one.
It can be whatever you want, even a great emulation of an E-mu SP1200, I don't think there is any sampler with faders to do impromptu mixing live like you do with an E-mu SP1200.
If the sampler part is really cool, the Roland SP404 mk2 has another approach and is 100% dedicated to sampling and sound processing in real time, but the MC-707 does it too!
It is zen-core technology, it has different synthesizers, PCM's like the classic Mc's, very good presets and very well selected sounds ready to manipulate or customize on the fly, the sequencer is brutal, a kind of mini ableton live or garageban looper you have there.
And last and very important, very good pads of a good size for the most comfortable finger drumming, really if that's what you need, here you have everything.
I sold my MPC live 2 to buy this thing and analog things, and this MC-707 even though it has 8 tracks can accumulate more in a chain, it also has 8 individual USB outputs, with Logic Pro it works perfect.
First time watcher, never really follow or subscribe, but your energy alone was awesome. I felt like I was in the room with you. I just got mine for my birthday and am loving it. But ty Doctor Mix. You made me smile and enjoy this time. Having just got the news that my other Grandma died, Yesterday, and I just buried the other one Friday, you have helped more than words can say. Keep on mixing…..Fab
Just bought one a few weeks ago....so was surprised to find this video...awesome!
I believe there´s a slice function for the sample editing when you record to the project pool and then you assign each slice to a pad, a bit faster work flow!!
Your videos always make me happy ! And I can’t wait to get my 707 !
add pitch shifting functions to the faders and the MC-707 could do SP-1200 style programming.
@def creator already did last year.
I love your videos. Watching this inspired me to go and buy the MC 707. Just starting out making my own music and having lots of fun in the process! Keep making great content.
I've got too many kids now. All of my machines are sold. I like to watch your channel just to chill. Keep it up!
Dude you're so honest I hope this months season gives you a musical smile. XDD
@@Wulfcry I will say all the new portable and desktop gear has me excited. Getting pretty cheap, too. I don't think I'll be away much longer.
Kid plays the machines. That's actually a great interaction.
Aaron Denby Do it! I did so, with two small children and a regular fulltime job. With shifts, like night shift for the next three days. I think Dr Mix is a great motivator in a way. And I think that one can be totally happy and creative with one single machine like that!
Joe Simon's ""Drowning In The Sea of Love", fantastic ol' school track!
The sample edit/selection part reminds me so much of my Roland W30 :)
9:00 that's the beauty of the new digital era. You can go back and pull it from this video
for the sampling maybe mention that you need to put "EXT IN" to the maximum volume with the C4 knob, I lost an hour changing cables because I didn't hear a thing. Default was zero. Only after I found it I saw that you had it at 230 :-)
Pretty sweet, so cool that you can record your own samples in it. That’s a very powerfull tool, just creat a song with only one instrument.
I would like to spend a week in the study of this guy...anything you can desire is there...and if you are looking for a particular sound there is THE SYNTH or the drum machine which has been used for that sound...it's the Heaven!
Doctor mix !!! You are the man !! Loving the beats .
Hmmm! The sample function makes the MC707 a total game changer for me now! (As my MPC Live sits nervously in the corner of the room)
Right! I need the update today.
so nice 🔈🔉🔊👌💪✌️
Thank you
It’s a wrap like Reynolds baby!!!
4 a second, I thought you was gonna sample the same thing a famous rap group did. But, instead you blazed this track and choose a vocal that was hot. Those drums are off the chain!. Good Job.
Dr. Mix, you are wicked brother! Thanks for a great video! I’m all over it and my new MC707! Happy New Year 2020!
Yayyyy!!
Great video, man! Now I know better about MC-707. Can you help me about your video structure mount? What brand? Thanks a lot!
Another reviewer acts like cutting up samples is so difficult. You make it look easy.
This is rhythm roulette what we wanted!
Wow where was this when i was working on an S1000..... back in the JV1080 days.. Atari forever! :)
that's true demonstration bravo!
You Are Awesome Doctor Mix Always Learning So Much ❤️
Doctor Mix is the guy you imagine hitting on your gf at the club when she studies abroad
Lol, hitting on a girl? I don't think so. Maybe a guy...
@@yekker2245 You are a moron!
Or the third guy for a Night at the Roxbury remake.
dna, of course
Hahahaha
That Jazz sample was used in Gang Starr's You My Steez
MAESTRO! Saludos desde Mexico
Why did I watch this video?.... Now I actually want one!
Just came across your channel. I dig your videos and your energy. Tuned in. Cheers!
mr fixit mr rokkit(remember herbert) mr mmixit whtvr, your optimizm iz eternally inspiring!!!
How super cool is that track! Great video by the way too
That was a really good tutorial. Thanks.
Doctor Mix...you are the legend 👍👍
You are great Claudio! I just bought my MC 707 : D
Great edit !! so cool using new 707 !! cheers Rio / Brazil !
I would like to have your opinion on a techno / trance set. I don't want to go through a computer anymore I was planning to buy an Analog Rythm MK2 and an Analog Four MK2, as well as a Roland MC 707 and TR 8S and for the bass line a mam mb33, this way I will have a varied sound palette. What do you think ? Thank you in advance for your response and advice.
What band did you sample? What was the song on this album? Tell me please, please!
Is it now comparable with a mpc or Maschine? Sampling from vinyl, add some effects and drums, even arrangement.. What do you think?
Dope! the best video I've seen of you yet, So groovy!
love you dr mix
Whatt do i seee DX1 in the background?!?!?!?!
YES! Exactly what I clocked right away!!!!
So great to see you back in the old studio Claudio! 😂 Thinking of this or the TR-8s .... hard to decide
Just awesome. Thank you for posting.
@5:37 im hearing gang starr you know my steez!
Hello Claudio, can be recreated a similar scenario with the TR8S?
I'd love to see this face to face with an old-school analogue rythumizer.
Ohhh... so ... does it mean that I need to buy this thing over Deluge? Can this monster render all the tracks as super long separate WAVs like Deluge?
Very cool! Now of course the work begins to extend it from 2 bar pattern to say 32 bars which is where playing it in with your chops is probably faster. Still cool for short loops.
Sweet remix glad to see a new take on the update!!
yikes amazing just purchased one of these today, now upgraded and thanks to you getting my samples on..great vid my man!
Great video. Cool and simple creating 👌
"One Time", the best song in the universe! :P
*Nice groove Claudio* ... I'm liking these updates; I'll update my MC101 just as soon as I complete my MiXmas challenge. Another thumbs-up from me. Best Regards, Axel.
Claudio is going to recreate Entroducing by DJ Shadow with those finger drumming skills.
Great video!! It was too hard to focus on the Roland with the DX1 in the background. Can’t wait to see a video on that! I’m getting myself a very good condition DX5 for Christmas for a really good price as well! See you on the next one Claudio!
Have you understood how the "scene chains" function works? I did not understand whether it is possible to save a scene as a set of clips and then call them in a chain without specifying the next clip number inside the clip.
Great video! It sounds amazing considering you are playing it on the fly
Great video man! You build a cool track, Finish it!
What is the crazy device with big waveform displays & small keyboards in the intro ?
That beat was slick!
As a DX7 fan I waaaant a video with this DX1 on the couch!!
Really cool❤️🔥
The used samples are from the following song, took me a few minutes to find.
Shazam just leads to a DJ sampler; I guess because of the pitch being lower or the recording being a bit slower. :p
ua-cam.com/video/08t_uHnm_nc/v-deo.html
Thanks!
Great update! But I have to say that the display is such a let down. It's like MPC 2000 quality :(
dahDougieBoy I had instant memories of that MPC2000 screen, too :)
I could live with the screen. My first sampler was the Emu Esi 32! All you had for editing samples was long numerical numbers.
@@trevormalcolm4328 For the price I'd expect better. I had a lot in the old days that wouldn't cut it anymore.
Is this going to be the SP1200 of the 21st century?
Dj Premier used that record to sample “You know my steez”
Hey brother Claudio! Watched this video again last night. Had some time to think about another added track clip you might put in the mix... a short sample of the entry guitar riff from Money for Nothing by Dire Straits, .. slowed down to tempo, of course. Think it would sound great. Keep up the good work buddy.
Yes yes.. thx mr. Mix
DOC....why didnt you use/show the slicing feature??!!
You Know My Steez!
If you assign each track to a tone, can the mc707 be used as a 8 channel multitimbral zencore sound module? Like you assign each track to a midi channel and they can all play at the same time?
Why does your clip screen have spread L written on it. Mine still has New prj and track one is always set up as a drum track and track 2 is always set up as a tone track.
Where do you stand on copyright when sampling from vinyl like that?
Hello, what song have you used to do the remix? Congratulations on your channel.
Funny guy...effortless. outshone other efforts. Not to put out to extinction to those guys .but thank for showing us 1 creative application to a browsing eye(me) and why Roland has up its game at last since mc909... Engaged to the whole clip. Steps were easy to follow. Screen shots were spot on + your connection to noise seems almost symbiotic.
Mm. but a heap ov potential 707 mc and i want one, essential replacements for careless storage firms.Good on you L Dr.Mix
I've subscribed to your channel. I want one of those Roland's now 👍
Great vid. I need a center piece for my PC'less (live) setup. Been eyeing an MPC LIVE (II), but now MC 707 has gotten into my radar and it looks great tbh. Already have a TR-8s (and love it!). Any advice if you had to choose MC-707 OR MPC LIVE (ONE?). I would like to be able to attach a few external MIDI instruments. Any tips?
What did you end up going for? I'm currently in the exact same position you were 8 months ago it seems haha
@@Ryan-fo8fq I actually got both, got the MPC Live II a few months ago and sold it for a Roland MC707 just 2 weeks ago. What can I say, the MC707 outperforms the Akai in many ways for me esp. the workflow and the internal sound engines/synths. The Akai has it's advantages, the big touch screen, many outputs and inputs etc... But for what I needed the MC707 does it and more. I really like the workflow of the MC707. As I understand the ones that do get the Akai workflow really love it, but it wasn't for me. I think the only way to know is to test em both. I was actually thinking of keeping em both, but budget wise it wasn't possible. Also the new firmware of the Roland has pushed it way higher and together with a TR8s I can go completely dawless.
@@MrzodiacBE I've seen people on forums saying the MC707 overlaps the TR8S in a way, have any info on that? I have a TR8S and while I'm still a noob, I love it and would love to have some extra possibilities. At first I was looking into synths, but the MC707 drew my attention. It seems to offer alot on top on the already great TR8S.
@@Peenutzz It's true. 1 channel on the MC 707 can be almost the same as a whole TR8S. But you can get more into detail on the Tr8S when it comes to beats. If you have to choose and you need an allround device or want to create full tracks, the MC707 could do the job perfectly. If you only need a drum computer, The TR8S is awesome and the 's' function is a nice extra, but I wouldn't use it to create full tracks. I use the MC707 as the center piece of my setup atm.
@@MrzodiacBE thanks, that's what I thought. I love a beat that slowly builds up and that varies it's composition throughout, I can still do that while adding the rest with the 707. Your answer was a bit late by the way, I bought one last monday.
how dare you have fun with music. thanks for sharing
What are those arms you use for holding the cameras?
Un ottima base per creare una canzone moderna. Sei il Dj Kool Herc di You tube!
Octatrack killer right here
Hey DM. When you’re cutting up the samples can you say, loop the middle 2 bars of a 4 bar loop before committing it to a pad? I like to loop old disco breaks and build tracks from there.
Love the video and the channel... Is there a stand alone workstation that I can upload 5 min wavs and simply play over the top with sweeps etc?
How many loop tracks can you have and how many different clips per track?
Freekn' awesum!!!
is this equally as good as an Akai Mpc Live?
I think you just convinced me into buying one....
Brilliant just brilliant 👍
DX1 in the background?
Update 1.3, now with build in copyright clearance ;-) DR. mix witch settings did you use for sampling and what bitrate/samplefrequencie is the MC-707 capable of ? It all sounds a bit lo-fi...
its 24/96 He is sampling from vinyl.
Hi😉 where is "the prodigy" by you?
In 2019 Roland still uses tiny 90´s style displays like the Roland Sp808x had. Incredible.
FrancisJoa so what... yes, a hires oled with more screen estate would have been great, but as I always say: it‘s the indian and not the arrow.
@@hINC I had the Roland SP 808x back in the day and to work with these small displays is a pain in the ass and not fun at all.
@@FrancisJoa I am with you, but well... It probably made the unit more accessable for lots of ppl. A lower pricetag is what I mean. (:
Very nice
bravo Doctor Red
