The American rightwing have been trying to overthrow our democracy since the Business Plot. The working class gained the upperhand with the New Deal, but that was destroyed in the 70s & since then anti-democratic decisions & policies have come in drips & drabs -- & since Bill Clinton's "New Democrats" decided to become Reaganites, there has been no opposition.
The dems have "TDS" only in the sense that Trump's brazenness woke them up from their decades-long stupor & forced them to recognize the damage that Republican ideological domination has done & is doing.
