  • This was a trip I had been looking forward to all summer. My dad and I hopped on a float plane and headed to northern Manitoba. We were dropped off for four days at Kamuchawie Lake Outpost which is operated by Laurie River Lodge. This lake is truly an untouched gem in Manitoba's Northern Region. Big Walleye, Yup. Big Northern Pike, Yup. Big Lake Trout, Ohhhhhh yeah.

    Jay, I guess it was meant to be that this video popped up on my phone. It was in 2013 that Howard wrote that sign "big trout here" after I had caught a 41.5" laker at that very spot. Great video and I can't wait for part 2!

    Love jigging for lakers in North Eastern Ontario, to see this type of footage makes me anxious to get out there! Well done!
    Nothing beats being on a fishing trip and waking up to a thin layer of dew canvasing your surroundings and a lake calm as glass. Would be surreal to get out there sometime!

    Thank you for this video!. I would give up catching a fish for the rest of my life to see my dad catch a biggun. Just got comfy seats in for my tinny so he can spend the day out there with me.     I love your vids! So professional, well put together. Great work! I do a fly-in trip every other year in Canada and this year I’m trying to to film it (mainly just on GoPro). Any advice on how you handle all of your storage devices on a trip like that? Bring a bunch of micro sd’s or maybe the laptop with external hard drive? Any advice is appreciated, keep up the good work!

    Great vid and awesome Lakers! Question for you: What is your go to set up for jigging 8-20# Lakers? We have been using 7’6” M power Fast action Shimano inshore spinning rods with 2500 size reels. I noticed a lot of times you are using baitcasters and casting rods. What are the specs on those rods from this vid and are those your “big” laker rods? Thanks and keep the vids coming!!
