T-128s are one of my favorite sirens to hear in attack. Especially for the full cycle. Danville is one of the few local places where you can get a consistent, full cycle test…given that you choose the right siren. Some test shorter, and some do alert. I ended up at the one near the 4H fairgrounds. There’s plenty of places to park, and it’s still in a flyable area if you want to fly a drone.
The wind was crazy. It took forever just to stabilize the tight shot (why there's a delay) and I'm still not 100% satisfied with the result. I feel like I could’ve shot closer, but I like how the audio turned out. I placed recorders at varying distances and the reverb I captured is pretty insane like many T-128s. The narrow projection horn really bites when it faces your way. I usually leave one mic set to manual, level 35 on the Zoom recorder to be exact. It never changes, and I always keep it at that level on every siren. This recording is the first time I’ve ever had it peak. That’s how loud it was! But with that being said, it’s only loud for a snippet. It’s more of a quick crack of blaring sound, then it’s quiet. Super quiet. It sounds like it’s a mile away. Yeah I know…it’s a rotational siren and that’s sort of what they do. But it always seems more pronounced on the T-128. Either way, this thing sounds amazing, and I’m glad to have captured it.
Sirens in Hendricks County are tested every Friday at 11am. Tests are canceled if severe weather is expected or if the temperature is below 35 degrees. Occasionally around holidays they will cancel.
Enjoy, and as always comment, like, and subscribe for more. Thanks!

I've past this siren a few times before (recently 2/25), and I'm used to hearing 2001s in Hendricks County go for 1 min
I'm originally from Brownsburg and I find it so odd that their 2001s only test for a minute, but Danville does a whole 3 minutes. And they're both activated from the same location.
Ok now I’m very jealous of this shot
Amazing video!
them echos though. nice video
thats some real quality
Nice!
Now THAT is one cool-sounding siren!
Why does a attack signal on a T-128 sound like a cat pouting but sounds like a broken trombone at the same time.
Holy crap, I'm just seeing the new intro style and you did an amazing job!
Damn! This is one hell of a perfect video! Keep up the great work my guy!
i love the train horn before and after the test
Same, I'm glad it showed up when it did
Norfolk southern mixed freight i believe
Why are some of them higher pitched than others?
Ferb, I know what we’re gonna do today!
Was hoping somebody made the connection lol. I'm not disappointed.
It sounds like the siren that plays in Battlefield 4 on the China Rising DLC maps when someone launches a bomber strike
I remember a video of someone who also went to this exact siren and i gotta say it sounds the exact same as it did in 2013
The reverb and echo is insane
Was his name creeperfan12
@@TrakFilms no at least dont think so cuz i know he recorded it too but someone else did aswell but i forgot their name
@@sirensofohio5737 Yeah I distinctly remember seeing a video of this T-128 around the 2013 SWA. I can't for the life of me find it though. I did see Creeperfan 12's videos and linked them on the description, but I think the first recording of it was deleted. Or maybe it's just a false memory and Creeperfan 12's video was the first recording I saw.
That Motorola FSK tho
Was that a BNSF train?
CSX, they have a yard nearby
I’ve recorded one of these before. The sound is PUNCHY!
Hey, Jefferson County, KY Is testing there siren system tomorrow. Maybe you can record the new 2001-130 at Wilkerson Elementary
