I saw the production twice at the Broadway Armory in Chicago. Without question, it was one of the 5 most remarkable theatrical events that I've ever witnessed. Beautiful, visceral, and utterly heartbreaking. Thank you, National Theatre of Scotland. Please remount this production and bring it back to Chicago!
i saw this in 2010, the first ever show of the 2010 cast, although these guys are just as brilliant, i went to see it again because it was so amazing! Gives me tingles. Gregory Burke is one of the most talented writers of our time!
I worked as an Usher when it toured here in SF courtesy of ACT. It Was so fitting that the venue were the Drill Court at the Armory.I The cast were themost amazing group of young men I'ver ever had the Allasone of working with
Wonderful piece of theatre. Saw two different tours with different casts in New York City. It is powerful, not recommended for soldiers with active PTSD. I especially found the "letters from home" scene absolutely wonderful and devastating.
just seen that today, i havent laughed, cryed, and been so interested in my life! this is the last year it will ever get showen! trueelly amazinngg expirencce. x
I know you must be proud of being Scottish and the Black Watch but I wouldn't say they were the best regiment in the British army, they are good but not the best, The rifles have a battalion which is part of the commando, 1st Btt. Then you got The Mercians, Royal Anglian Regiment, Guards, PWRR and far by the best regiment in the armed forces alongside the Royal Marines are the Paras, now you can't tell me the Black Watch are better than the Paras lol. Btw i think the Black Watch are brilliant.

Just saw this show in Brooklyn. It was powerful in a way I've never experienced with a play. I love this show and I'm so damned glad I saw it.

Just saw it in Chicago. Just beautiful.
Just found out, it's here on UA-cam. Off to watch it.
Wondering if you ever found out if it's available on dvd, gaz. Saw a bit about it on tv last week. If not, it should be. Looks brilliant.
Yeah, it's A Thearlaich Oig (Oh Young Charles Stewart) by Martyn Bennett. So sad and beautiful.
The tune by snow patrol is in the show, as used in the scene here.
where can we see the full play?
The opening song is Spitting Games by Snow Patrol
Hi mate i would be very interested to see this play, if you could tell me how to upload it it would be fantastic!!!
I just saw this from luminato 2008, do guys know the song from where guys were dramatically floating in the air with strings.
I'm looking for the "wee Bonnie Lass" tune (3:49) that's sung a couple of times - is it a traditional song or was it written for this play

Great Performance. They sell the scripts after the performance. If you have the opportunity to see it, do not pass it up!!!!!!
