Thank you son. You are the only one who really explained this arrow issue. I am replacing my filter tonight. The arrow has to point toward the furnace. The net part has to be on the side of the furnace. You're the best.
Purchased: August 2023 - still works GREAT!I ua-cam.com/users/postUgkxxsUnXhGsSJLim_XnMHyQK0u3XVaW-CGn live in a studio and during the summer it gets scorching hot - really old building with no ac units. I can’t express how EASY it was to install. This unit has been a life savior during the summer and some days during other seasons where it can still be a bit warm at night. In this small place is my friend, a husky, poodle mix and myself. We need AC - lolI don’t use the dehumidifier option - I’m not sure if it will leak in my house, since I did not install the small draining hose that came with it. May look into it late but I don’t worry about much humidity in the apartment. I don’t understand why the negative reviews since all things mentioned, I personally did not find issues with. Definitely worth it!
I know this probably was up here a long time but good information never expires. Thanks to you, I know more about changing the filter in my furnace than the rest of the men in my house.
Same Team!..
New homeowner here so thank you for the video! My furnace looks a lot like yours so it was really helpful. Also, the previous owner had the filter in backwards and I would have copied it otherwise, so thank you again!
Simple, to the point videos. Great work as always, Nils.
I had problem with replacing all the years . Thank you for this video teaching me how to put it in the right way . Happy now :)
New home owner and just found out the previous owner never replaced the air filter. Love the content
2 years ago my father developed early onset Alzheimer's and I'm the primary person taking care of him and the house. I'm only 22 but it's videos like this that are life saviors. Our AC has been cranked but isn't pumping any cold air past the filter. Which after watching this video realized it hasn't been replaced in 2 years, was in backwards, and was the highest MERV rating. Tomorrow I'm going to pick up a new filter, hopefully all the cold air will start showing up through the vents
Thank you so much! I was putting mine in backwards for years!
New homeowner and single mom... Used to changing my air filters, but never knew the proper way to do so.
Thank you for highlighting the air flow arrow! I appreciate your graphics too.
So glad it was helpful!
Your video was very helpful and confirmed some of the questions I had about changing my air filter. Thank you very much for the professional, easy to understand and friendly video with step by step ideas and practical tips like writing the date and marking some things on the equipment.
You are very welcome!
thank you. your explanation is a tremendous help to those who are not used to do this.
Wonderful. Thank you for all the good, common sense information. I wanted to make sure I was doing it correctly because my house is so awfully dusty . I'll have to go down and ck and see if I installed the filter correctly.
Simple but thorough explanation. Very helpful. Thank you.
THANK YOU for this video 😭🙏🏼🙏🏼 first time homeowner whose parents always just “called someone”. This helped me immensely!
Husband is deployed and had to do this myself thank you !
Finally, someone who does accurate video on which way to put these Air filtrete in with crosses. Tyou
Perfect. Excellent information. Not a ramble as some tutorials are. Great video.
Thanks for posting this. Very helpful and informative!
My ex just moved out and I was about to call him to ask him where the air filter is. Didn't have to thanks to this video.
👏🏽 get it !! idk why yt recommended this video lol but great tips 😅
That's petty
going through a divorce and girl this freaking comment!!!!!!
Could have a reason to reconcile
Same
Glad I found this video , because it was so helpful in making me feel sure that I was inserting the filter correctly
This video was EXACTLY what I needed! Thank you!!! #Subscribed
This video just saved my life. Thank you for sharing 💕
I just changed the filter after watching this. Great video. Thanks!!!
Nice job!
GREAT presentation! Direct and very clear information.
This by far the best video on UA-cam, explained everything so easy. Thank you
Thanks for
the tip to write the date on the filter
About the info of dropping down a filter rating if the house just doesn’t feel like it’s getting warm enough during the winter
A video that is really straight forward and easy to understand and explains why the filter needs to be installed properly
And the tip about the air fresheners
Well... that tip about the air fresheners hasn't aged so well. Those synthetic air fresheners have been shown to be carcinogenic. (And that's in addition to smelling terrible.)
@@thoughtfulskeptic7529 Absolutely agree - especially the plug in ones that have been known to cause many a fire.
It appears the end of my message above was cut off - it had read "should be taken with caution - I don't think anything added to a furnace is a good idea, especially for pets and small children."
All that aside, I do think it was a well put together video with good audio and visual.
Amazing! This video helped so much. Thank you!
All this time - I have been doing it wrong. I've never owned a house and had to do this tho so glad I'm learning new things
Thank you so much for this! New homeowner and have never had to do this before, this was super helpful. Subscribed!
Clear thorough explanations, thanks!
Thanks so much! Very simple instructions that saved the day!
This was a A-mazing How to video! Great communication! Thank you from this single mommy!
The most helpful thing I’ve seen all day!!! Thank you!
Thanks for the info on which way the air flows. I thought that's what it was but needed confirmation. Also, thanks for the recommendation to sharpie it onto the unit for the future, as well as writing the filter size on the unit.
Super informative and easy to follow for a first time filter-changing home owner!
Thank you Sir I have the exact same air system..saw that arrow at the top of the filter and well here I am!! Very helpful...
Thanks. Great info. And such a nice soothing voice!!!
Thank you for this video!
Informative, clear, and concise!
So GLAD I found your channel, specifically this video! I went to hardware store and had a hard time asking about air flow direction. Clerk tried to explain how to install but just wasn't registering. Came home searched for info and finally watched this video. Clear concise even for a gal with severe ADHD to follow. Thanks so much! Subscribed right away.
So glad it was helpful!
Great video, thanks so much!
Excellent tip to make notations, thank you kindly 🥰
This is so helpful. My filter was in the ceiling. Really weird. But I will use the link to order the replacement filters. Thank you.
I always take pics of filter sizes and other regular maintenance items and put in a file on my phone under household items that way when I am at store I always have it with me and know what to buy.
Great idea! I do something similar with documents and measurements I need but didn't think to add this to my list. Thanks for the tip!
It was easy all thanks to you Sir!! 😁
I think this was the best how to video I have ever seen. I've never had a video hit EXACTLY what I need and answer questions I should have had, but didn't know I needed to ask. 10 out of 5 stars. Thank you
Well that’s about as high a praise as one can give! Thank you!
My sentiment exactly
Wow, this was so helpful! Thank you.
Super helpful video chocked full of practical useful advice. Thanks!
Thank you , I just did all you told in here . Very helpful information 👌
Thank you for a complete info very well understand
Thanks so much! I always forgot what direction to insert.
I have very thick two metal ones that are "active" meaning they zap micro particles with a power supply attached. also I have the thin regular metal filters for larger particles(passive). was wondering about placement. I have always placed the thin passive ones Under the thick active ones(and the air flows upwards) is this correct or do I place them over the active ones. I am asking this because someone told me that if I also use a carbon filter it is called a "pre filter" I assume that to mean before and air flow would hit it first, not last. that would also mean that after a decade of use I have placed my passive (non carbon) filters in the wrong place(under the active ones). that is the best exclamation I can come up with with no pictures to illustrate my point.
Thanks so much for going in so much detail
This helped a ton. Thanks, Canelo!
I appreciate your well put together video. Thank you!
Gosh I wish I had seen this video before I improvised my filter replacement. Well.... better late than never. Thanks LRN2DIY!
clear and easy to understand, thanks !!
Awesome explanation thank you.
Thanks! Very helpful.
this was helpful!! thank you!!
Thank you,very helpful.
Thank you! You’re very helpful
Thanks. You save my day.
Thank you. 🙏 Much appreciated.
Thankyou...simple straight forward info
Splendid, just confirming i had it in the right way, thanks!
Very helpful video, thank you! Quick question, is it possible that the furnace has 2 filters to change? In two different areas?
Great point on using the cheap one for maximum air flow. I used to more expensive one which probably explains why the house never feels heated and why the furnace constantly runs off and on all the time! Thanks a mill!
P.S. I also write the date on mine but the date it needs replacing rather than the date I replaced it.. ☺
Note that you want a more expensive filter if there's a lot of smog or smoke you need to deal with. Keeps you healthier. With all the fires every summer now, it's become necessary to get the fanciest filter possible :/
This was so helpful 👍🏻
Thanks for the tip about whole house freshener
Agreed!
Thank you!! perfect vid!
Thank you so much , Great Works
We live in Portland Oregon and we have a kind of similar heating system called chinook. However, we are shopping for the AC and non is compatible with it. Any suggestions. Regards
You need to make more DIY videos. You explain things so well. Thank you
This is an awesome video. Thanks
Can the furnace filter be the same type as the return filters in the home? When we moved in, our returns all had filters, but none in the furnace.
amazing video thank you!
Great explanation.
Thank you for your video. Learned a lot!
Very informative. Thanks...
Very good Thank you.
Thanks so much for you help. Now I know how to change filters . Thanks so much.!
Very helpful. Thanks 😊
The back side of the filter, as shown, 1:50, when facing the blower then has the arrow pointing toward the return plenum, so against the air flow. Im not sure what to do. will have to try another vid. I watched this one for this part, marked my unit parts. but i don't get why the arrow points away from the back of the filter but the back should point to the blower. i'd appreciate any advice
EXCELLENT!!!! Thank you!
This was very helpful!
Thank you so much!!!
thanks for the tip on the direction of the filter. Always wonder which side the filter face.
