At 48:00 is the Elgin. I worked there back in the mid 70’s. It was a movie house then, nothing but fond memories. I love Toronto, I have lived here for over fifty years.
Hello, I am an Iranian and I am 62 years old and I was in the Iran-Iraq war for 3 years. My name is Alireza Torbatinia. About this movie: 1 hour and 7 minutes. This is not a short time. It is a long time. We can easily see it, but we need to thank the director, cinematographer, producer, and other colleagues. Many hours of time and money have been spent on this film, but it must be said that first we need to thank the country, the respected organizations, the police, and the high security of the people. And the well-being of the people is determined under the shadow of hardworking artists like you. I wish I could use the facilities of that country along with you.
Yonge Street is Toronto's most famous street, and it was once the longest street in the world according to the Guinness World Records. While it remains a very long street, that title was taken away in 1999.Aug 20, 2019
Tour started from my building Aura - 386 Yonge Street. It is all around between Yonge and Gerrard St and Yonge and Queen St. About 4 blocks. Nicely depicted.
Toronto really is vibrant with both good and bad coexisting together in a community. Got to say I don't have a personal reason to visit Toronto but this video makes it intriguing. Funny to have the old school hockey hall of fame amount the high rises but it is Canada! The guy with the full on wader boots at 21:30 was hilarious on a sunny day. Thanks
Yonge street is likely the oldest street in Toronto, with roots that date back to 1794 when the Queen's Rangers carved out the route at the direction of John Graves Simcoe.
Yonge and Dundas Square was designed to rid the street of its remaining sleaze. Then area councilor Kyle Rae campaigned hard for the Square as a means to cleanup Yonge St. In some sense it worked as it is now a major tourist attraction.

Yonge and Carlton. What a mess. If you show Yonge and Eglinton, it's even worse. I drive every day in this area specially on Yonge. Today it took me freaking one hour from Yonge and Adelaide just to get on to the Gardiner. It's horrible

I don't understand why this city is listed in the ratings as expensive. The streets, even in the very center of this city, are very dirty, there are a lot of drug addicts, two-story historic houses have been turned into a kind of markets, and there are very few places for pedestrians in cities. I live in St. Petersburg (Russia), everything here contradicts this city. The streets are clean, advertising is regulated, there are very few homeless and drug addicts on the streets, and so on
Most expensive has nothing to do with cleanliness or the other criteria you mentioned. It's real estate. There's a shortage of space so it comes at a premium cost. The city has a handful of highways so most people live close to those or along the also limited transit line. You are basically judging a whole city by one sine street, that's what this video is....Yonge Street, a very touristy street of mostly condos and stores. As far as why even Canada because it's the only country besides Australia that has open immigration. Canada probably easiest country to immigrate to. The Russia you describe may be great but there's no immigration so what's the point? Let's not forget the communist regime and the current events in Ukraine. Russia is probably one of the last places any person would consider.
I'm from jordan and I'm thinking of moving to Canada. Nordstrom is a clothing retailer, typically they are an anchor tenant for large malls in North America (though I believe they’ve gone bankrupt). Nordstrom rack is sort of an off the rack shop to find discount prices on department store prices. It was a very weird tenant to get such a significant address - I believe the property was hoping for Apple Inc.
Its such an easy place to live and that's one of the reasons 100k move here from all over every year. No matter who you are, where you come from, your interests and values, race , religion (or lack), sexuality, education level or wealth you can find a place for youself here and grow. Not perfect but a rare and special jewel in a world gone mad with tribalism and fear. And the food options...the entire world eats here. It took me ten years of living here to love it but now I'll likely never leave it.

In Toronto we have very long winters with lots of snow and ice which damage the roads. The city is so large that it usually takes until the next winter to fix all of them.
Toronto's excuse of winter damages is a poor excuse - Moscow, St. Pete., Minsk, Vladivostok have worse winters yet better roads because they are willing to spend more money to fix them sooner!!!
