I would give it to Tuchel. 10 major trophies in his management career, compared to zero of all the English candidates put together. If he was English there wouldn't even be a debate. Former world coach of the year, he is available, give it to him! Also, sack Kane off as captain and give it to Bellingham. We don't want good losers anymore...we want winners...starting with the WC in 2 years time.

Also the level of manager she is coming up against tactically is much lower. Elite level managers in the mens game would just rip her teams apart.

Women's football is far more entertaining than men's and they are bringing to "Football" the grace that it requires to be the "beautiful game", so much so that its becoming clear to everyone and sundry that as Rugby is well known to be "a man's game" women are proving now that all along Football has been "a woman's game". Men just don't possess the required grace and kinesthetics to play it as effectively, gracefully and beautifully as the women do, men just look clunky and awkward and unsure how its meant to be played compared to the women.

Potter's friendly PE Teacher act may have worked in the lower divisions of Sweden but he showed at Chelsea that he's not the right man to manage top-class professionals.
Apart from getting a couple of promotions in Sweden, what has he actually achieved in football?
He finished mid-table in his one season at Swansea, who, incidentally, got to the play-offs in the two seasons after he left, his Premier League win percentage at Brighton was very similar to Chris Hughton's and, like Swansea, Brighton were better off without him and he had a nightmare at Chelsea and has been out of work for about 18 months!
Having said that, you can be sure that Potter will be named England manager within the coming weeks.
The FA will see him as their ideal man, as he's like Southgate and Hodgson rolled into one and is a free agent!
England are too good to fail in a massive way, so I'm not worried about us failing to qualify for The World Cup or anything like that but I can't see Potter matching Southgate's record.

Potter will be overwhelmed with the England job in a similar fashion he was overwhelmed at Chelsea. I say give the England job to Brian Clough. Clough has been ignored by the FA for far too long.

Worried about lack of goals because Southgate has been so reliant on Kane. Southgate never gave Watkins or Toney much of a chance, so when Kane isn’t playing well we have no real plan B.

The main problem that I have seen for a long time in the English national team is that they do not recruit foreign coaches and prefer native English coaches. It is recorded that in the last 2 decades there have only been 2 foreign coaches, namely Capello and Sven Goran Erikson, which in my opinion is not that good. And the problem is not There are quality native English coaches, try recruiting coaches from other countries. There are many quality coaches from other countries. As long as the English national team coach is still a native Englishman then England will never win.

My question for potter is what would you have done differently at the euros, would he have kept picking the same players, would he have had so many unused players on the bench, would he have kept playing Kane, if he answers honestly and would have kept things the same then he’s not the right man. The WC is a different tournament because your playing the cream of the world and it needs an elite footballing mind, 48 teams this time so you have to rotate more often, the temps and humidity will be higher, the traveling distances will be greater, no way we would have won this under southgate, nor will we with a like for like type of manager. Either the FA is serious or they are going to pick a like for like Southgate and if they do then don’t waste your money going to the 2026 WC. England need a manager who can revolutionize our style by stopping this continued passing from left to right and back and so on, our defenders constantly struggle to find players advanced of them so they play across from left to right. This style strangles players like Saka who by the time he gets the ball is faced up by two players, when he actually gets the ball in space facing a one on one he’s devastating, as long as we labor at the back our attacking impetus is gone. I hate to say it but we need to learn from the Spanish and some others on how they move the ball and transition quickly.

The abuse you take from the fans, the abuse your family takes, things thrown at them at football games etc. The excessive criticism and abuse from media. The over the top hyperbole criticism and borderline abuse from pundits and commentators. The over the top and unrealistic(based on last 60 years) expectation of everyone and over the top reaction to adversity of everyone. The only thing the job has going for it is the money.
Because it's the biggest job he will ever get in his life. A career high. Southgate got plenty of credit when he was overachieving. Only once he became the limiting factor was he criticised. Potter is a much more capable football manager so would likely result in much better performances
