Educate yourself, this is pure propaganda. Even with poring millions of dollars and agents into goa, the Indian government never dupped mote than a few thousand goans.
After the illegal invasion, the goans started a resistance movement until they tealyit was futile and moved to portugal. About to 100000 goans live in portugal.

The Portuguese needed to understand that the age of colonialism was over and they were dwelling in the past. They could have saved their dignity by following the example of the French and English and other Europeans and withdrew from a land where the Indian civilization and culture existed long before their civilization.

You came here for trade and took over the lands and the people converted them forcibly at times, exploited their resources. That is exactly what the British did. Yet they never addressed their occupied territories as Portugal does.
Integral territory of Portugal you say. That was said and done just so that NATO forces could take up Portugal's side, @@barron8006

India should have taken this territory back in 1948 as the British left as they could no longer afford their Empire.
Portugal could not have defeated India as they had many times as many Guns, Ships and fighter planes and the Portuguese would have been smashed in one day ! They were right to surrender as the alternative was defeat and humiliation .

How can the surrender of Goa be a milestone for 'Modern India', when Goa is in a far worst situation today then it was before 1961? There is another timebomb brewing: as the economic situation improves in Hindu rule of India, hindus will face challenges like stopping the economic improvement of the lowers casts of society. But then these people will demand equal rights....and that will be the Hindustan final Hour...there will be chaos!!

almost 60 years after the so called liberation of Goa, we see no major improvements in Goa, no investments, no development projects or industries.
goan ppl have been left high & dry.
we see Indian interference in sri lanka (they tried to annex parts ,but sadly it failed very badly for the tamils ppl in the end, that were abandoned by India, now china has a major hold there too) , Parts of north-east of India being annexed under the Indian banner in the past (angered China .. which then moved into Tibet, to stay). India abandoned the pandits in JK, then lost 2/3 of the state to china & pk. Punjab unrest from 50 years ago have still not been resolved.
Now india depends so much on the west for Investments into its industries. There is so much boast about the gdp rising, but at the end of the day these are just numbers. India just ends up importing everything from China.
With the population going to explode @ 2b and exceed China, we see a mass exodus of Indians from the state in search of a better Life in foreign countries.
not just goans moving to uk via portugal, millions of Indian have moved to canada, australia, new-zeland, usa, uk.. middle-east. Now it may seem india is Invading the world.

The military invasion of Goa was an illegal act of violence against the sovereingty of a country recognzied by the UN. The USA forbade the invasion, but the Security Council did not condemn it, as the USA was absent that day.
The invasion of Goa was not popular with Goans, as known by the Indian government, which is why a population replacement program was instituted.
Portugal couldn't reinforce Goa because of British refused refueling of Portuguese air forces on British territory in the Middle East.

All that end well, is well! Too bad early on nobody supported Portuguese illegal occupation, including its allies. It's great that just ten years later, the baberian Salazar fell and a new democratic Portugal established itself by undoing many of wrongs of the baberian and restoring good ties with India, recognising Goa's liberation and making amments.
