Insight on Jacob Zuma, Thales arms deal corruption trial

Former president Jacob Zuma returns to the High Court in Pietermaritzburg today for his arms deal corruption case involving a 1990s deal with French arms manufacturer Thales. The case, originally filed in 2005, faced delays and withdrawals before being reinstated in 2017. After starting in May 2021, it is set to continue next April. Pre-trial proceedings are set to get underway today. Political analyst Kenneth Mokgathle provides insight on the case.
