How Uric Acid Effect In Your Body | Uric Acid | Kidney Disease - Dr Rajesh Goel

Uric acid can be a real evil if not controlled in early phases. It's fun to do something without thinking about the consequences but it's better to be alive with some precautions and care. Here's a short video proving that one rotten apple in the basket can rot the whole basket.
People tend to not notice the changes their body shows in the earlier phases of any disease or simply ignore them. Building up uric acid in your body is one such thing.
1. When uric acid levels increase in your blood and body, it shows some significant symptoms that are ignored by people, like swelling and tenderness or stiffness in hands and feet (starting from the big toe called podagra).
2. Redness is also one of the symptoms. Uric acid is supposed to go out of your body via urine, but if you have CKD, then it becomes extremely difficult for the kidney to filter it out, and it starts affecting the filtering rate of other fluids in the body too by damaging the function of kidneys.
3. Studies have shown that increased levels of uric acid tend to accelerate the chance of having hypertension.
4. One should go to a nephrologist as soon as possible if they see symptoms of gout and high uric acid because they themselves can be a symptom of failing kidneys or damaged ones. If you already have kidney disease or CKD, then you must consult your doctor about the elevated uric acid levels so that he can work on it professionally.
5. Complications don’t just stop there. If you don’t treat these elevated levels of uric acid in your body, the complications related to kidneys only grow at an exponential speed. Uric acid sometimes forms crystals, which usually are so tiny and small that they pass through the urinary tract, but in case of damaged kidneys, these crystals remain in your blood and body. Over time these uric acid crystals can easily settle in your joints, not only causing constant pain but also increased hindrance in your daily movement.
6. The uric acid crystals, if they remain untreated, can also fuse and get bigger and even cause painful kidney stones.
7. These stones: a) block the kidney from functioning normally and filter out the waste, along with the increased probability of getting an infection.
b) scarring the kidney cells with their sharp edges and furthermore decreasing the function of kidneys. Both these issues are dangerous and can cause some serious damage to kidneys or even cause CKD.
So, in short, an increase in the levels of uric acid can be very dangerous and will deteriorate the overall function of the body, that too in a very slow and painful manner. Below we have given a short video showing how ignoring the issue in the early stages can become a hell in no time.
