Glad Andres came back for at least one symphony!
Brahms has always been one of my very favorite composers. I was introduced to this piece in, of all places, San Diego in 1969, where I sang it in ENGLISH, no less...but to hear it in its original language in its home country is the crowning achievement. I'm delighted that Sr. Orozco-Estrada made it back to Frankfurt for this concert, and that HR has seen fit to release it to this medium. Very good performance on all parts! Thank you very much. JAT

Ketzerische Ansicht (die ich aber zutiefst habe): Die schönsten Partien des Werkes sind die rein instrumentalen, ohne Chor und ohne Text.
Does anyone know what else was performed on that concert? All the brass and percussion suggests Shostakovich.
We played „Also sprach Zarathustra“ by Richard Strauss.
Wunderschöne und detaillierte Aufführung dieses spätromantischen und perfekt komponierten Vokalwerks mit gut vereinigten und perfekt entsprechenden Tönen aller Instrumente sowie gut harmonisierten Stimmen des ausgezeichneten Chors. Der intelligente und geniale Dirigent leitet das ebenso ausgezeichnete Orchester im gut betrachteten Tempo und mit dramatisch kontrollierter Dynamik. Einfach wunderbar!
Meine Güte, hörst du dir die Konzerte überhaupt an bevor du unter jedem Video dasselbe schreibst? Ist dir das nicht selber peinlich?
