AAAAAMazing! Great job!! FYI, I have been to at least 15 Elton John concerts over the years, shook his hand twice, have every printed tour book and own one of the largest EJ Soundboard Recording collections I know of. To say the least, I am a fan too!
This is the second time I’ve come across this randomly. The first time was several years ago it was amazing then, and it’s amazing now. Great work buddy, keep it up!
+Dave Rosado Hi Dave, and thank you so much for the kind words! Elton is very special to me, he really was my most influential piano "teacher" when I was growing up. Through learning his music I eventually branched out and became a real musician. Forever grateful to him for that.
Singing “The roses in the window box have tilted to one side, everything about this house was born to grow and die, you’re a bluebird on a telegraph line I hope you’re happy now....for the winds of change are coming down your way girl.............- THE best rock song of EJ. Nice job on the synth. I wish I was your next door neighbour, we could take this to the masses!
WOW!!! OMG!!! That was Excellent Bill, I could not stop watching, it was amazing♪ You did Sir Elton proud for sure..... Two Thumbs Waaay Up for Bill Vincent...…. LM
Well done Bill! That is truly an epic piece! What I love about Elton’s piano playing is that it has great power and commitment with unique progressions. This is not your average song to cover, but you did it well.
Hi Bill. I can see that you have put an enormous amount of work into this. I've just acquired the Blu-ray 5.1 version of Goodbye Yellow Brick Road and it inspired me to look for a tutorial on this track. It's a gift that keeps on giving, thanks very much!
Beautiful, thanks for the upload. This being one of my favourite Elton John songs, I enjoyed hearing the intro and the piano part. Definitely made my night. :)
This is amazing!!!! Funeral For a Friend/Love Lies Dying is my favorite Elton John song because of the amazing piano part!! Thanks for bringing it to life so awesomely!!
Great job!!! I love Elton John!!! My dad got me into him when I was little. This is one of my favorite songs by him. You did an awesome job. I've always wanted to play the piano. Keep up the good work!!
The cold bumps on my arms are receding now...Yes it made me go cold. The opening with the synthesizer was just out of this world, never seen anything like it outside an Elton John concert. You Are Amazing...
The I pad sounded digital at first then at 1:56 it sounded analog until it faded out. In the 70's when he played Funeral For A Friend/Love Lies Bleeding live he used play back for the synth part because the ARP2500 would have took along time to set up, then carrying around the world etc. These days Kim Bullard uses 2 keyboards to play it.
What a workout , sounded EXCELLENT Great Job with it , I got to figure out the Bass on it . Always been a favorite song . Dee Murray awsome bass player , my same Initials D M
Bravo! If I'd only heard the music and not seen the video I would have thought there were several people playing in collaboration. Excellent. Technically challenging, and you also catch the essence of this piece.
Very beautifully played; I clearly hear your devotion (awe?) to the GBYBR original in your performance. I never had a Baldwin, baby grand or otherwise, but I invested in a Yamaha console when I left the nest (1988) and still use it. My grandfather was a Master Piano tuner and back in the 70s said Yamaha were the best in terms of technical specs and tone. I'm blessed to be old enough to remember that album's release and those two tracks remain my favourites of Sir Elton's et al anthology. N.B. I always envied guys with that Arp beast but to be honest I'm not sure I could have been so proficient with the three oscillators, patch sliders and on-board sequencers required to lay down the foundation in FFaF.
Bill! Just came across your amazing rendition of Funeral For A Friend. I taught myself how to play piano by listening to Elton. I used to do a version of this song many years ago. I have completely forgotten how to play it now, but when I saw what an amazing version you did of this masterpiece i am considering re learning how to play it again. LOL
wow...there is no other BAND on you tube that even comes close to those right on synth sounds. That's a 10! I did a complete recording of it myself in 1992, bad guitar and all, but lost all the miidi but the pretty poorly mixed mp3 made from my 8 track cassette tascam. Love to send it to you for a chuckle from a real musician like you
What is really cool is you did an excellent job recreating all the synthesizer parts live using an inexpensive iPad and midi controller, whereas for the last 47 years, though the song has been a staple of Elton’s live shows, for the most part, they have just used a recording for the synthesizer intro. (I think there have been exception.)
salut Bill !! c'est pas facile mais c'est super ....ton son de synthé super ..le piano un peu rag time je parle du son !bravo j'ai bien ouvert les yeux !BRAVO à toi ....
How does this video not have millions of hits? Your a one man band!
Thank you, what a nice compliment!
WTF!! AMAZING! What a great job you did. I am so jealous! Loved it. Thank you for you efforts. Really enjoyed it.
AAAAAMazing! Great job!!

Awesome!! Amazing!! Very well done!! You nailed it!! Thankyou...
Bill you did this tune justice. Great job. I know you play it with passion. I can tell you really took the time to learn it and feel it. Awesome.

WELL THAT JUST BLEW MY MIND! AWESOME JOB YOUNG MAN! THANKS FOR THE SHARE.
Your piano forte is still the best I've seen nailing the original. So many others just hammering the keys. But you're nailing it,
tu est tres impressionnant you are very good
Very inspirational- I've been wondering how one person could pull off the synth and piano simultaneously. You've given me hope! Great job!
