I enjoy that he made it clear that this was about SPEAKING and that he still can understand very little of spoken Spanish. Lots of people would miss that. However, incredible what he achieved.
ah ok! I didn't think about that because I am a month in and can say things but when a native speaker begins speaking, I cannot comprehend fast enough.

Frankly speaking here, his Spanish isn't on point. He utilizes vocabulary swiftly, but his accent is far off. Not just the pronunciation of the individual letters, but the stress of syllables. Aside from that, Xiaomanyc has improved so much over the last few weeks.
i am a fan of this channel, but he seems to be exaggerating his fluency. I agree with an older comment that with so many edits and lines spliced together in this video, it makes his claims of fluency suspect. But I believe that he can be understood by many spanish speakers, but I don't know if he is fluent enough to understand an average native spanish speaker.
Probably not. The previous video where he was on zoom with the native speakers is probably where he is at still for the most part. I do agree about the splicing and rehearsing to say these sentences quickly being very misleading about how fluent he actually is and can be discouraging to people like me who are still learning and have been learning much longer. But, we still must commend him for his consistency and effort in this short amount of time. He still understands a lot and takes the effort to practice with people consistently. That is what messes me up, I don't use Spanish and am too embarrassed to speak it with native speakers often, which I'll have to get over if I want to get any better. So I still commend him and admire that tenacity he has. But don't let this discourge you who are still learning. Your journey is your own and how much, how fast. And how efficiently you learn is all up to you and your own effort! Keep going, we got this 💪🏾!!
No way, maybe if he was surrounded by Spanish ppl all his life it could be easier to understand but based on personal experience no way he can understand everything in just 1 or 2 months.
Definitely a click bait title but he has made excellent strides in a short period. With UA-cam as his primary income the man's gotta put food on the table lol. Hopefully he can keep this pace up and do some videos of off the cuff conversations on the street, VR chat, omegle, etc...

I'm a native Spanish speaker and I hear xiaoma going like "SKDKSJSJDJS" in Spanish. His Spanish is pretty good even tho he's been learning for a month.
great progress dude, pretty awesome spanish for just a month, I agree is kinda hard language, we have a ton of different pronunciations and accents depending on which country you are. keep going at it and you're going to nail it. (dunno if you have heard it, but there is this awesome song called "que dificil es hablar el español", I really reccomend it). Greetings from an argentinian dude here
Wow!! Awesome!! I learned to understand Spanish by listening to Spanish music and also by watching Spanish soap operas. Of course I took a Spanish class in high school and conversational Spanish in college. My dad was born in Mexico and my mom also knew Spanish. Growing up, they would speak to me in Spanish and I always told them to talk to me in English. Many of my friends spoke English and from some reason I don’t remember, I didn’t want to learn Spanish. Which of course I regret now. Many of my relatives live in Mexico and even my sister in law is from Mexico and speaks Spanish. So I try to practice with her. I work on my Spanish and she works on her English.
I'm native Hungarian, speak English fluently, studied German and Russian in college. If this is real this guy is the real deal, even though Spanish is relatively easy if you speak English already. This kid is natural. BTW there are hundreds if not thousands of levels to speak a second language.
My problem with speaking Spanish is I can only speak it when I'm comfortable with someone. If I'm talking with friends or family, I'm fine. But as soon as a stranger approaches me I suddenly forget everything.
it will be difficult for you because english is much easier than german. there is a scale which shows the difficulty of languages, and it says, that someone who already speaks a harder language, will have less problems to learn the easier one. since xiaoma speaks chinese, which is one of the most difficult languages, for him its relatively easy to learn any new language
@@-8il22n you won't get his results in 30 days cuz he's also a slick guy. Meaning, he's using some video tricks. Notice his Spanish is in JUMP CUTS. He's memorized the stuff he wants to say. It's not fully spontaneous. He definately did many takes for each sentence or two. Plus, he's only showing parts where he spoke well with the others. He's not showing the MANY times he had zero clue how to say something.... So, yes, he HAS achieved A LOT and i RESPECT it, but it's not at the level you think. Much of it is "movie magic"😁. But, yeah, in 5 months, he'll be solid👍
#ᴀɪʟᴇᴇɴ - Thank you!! #ᴀɪʟᴇᴇɴ - I know German is very hard. I’ve been studying it for 3 years and I really have trouble memorizing the sentence structures and declensions, hahaha. I actually find easier to study Chinese, but I think that if I make the effort, I’m gonna speak it fluently. (:
@@itsjomv Oh, you study both Chinese and German? I guess the German grammar is quite hard 😅 but you're right! If you put in the effort, you'll be able to speak German fluently one day. Maybe we can talk again, in German 😂😊 Good luck!

click-bait. IQ test... who here actually believes he became fluent in 20 days, or 60 days, or 120 days? Or even an actual, honest B1 level. Here is the truth. It makes me sad that people are discouraged by this video or comparing their own process to it. Did you all hear any crazy tenses or double pronouns? Nothing. He’s a “fluent” beginner. This hobby (language learning) is tough enough without constantly comparing ourselves to UA-cam “experts”. Enjoy your process! Remembering why you’re doing it. And know that each time you go to practice you are improving.
I tried this but ended up that i could say loads of sentences quickly but no language independence. When i a topic came up that i hadn't learn sentences for i was lost.
You're right, Chicago rose but I guess it is the way of the beginning or the non learner. We constantly question whether we have enough time, energy, or skill to do something like this, when actually see someone do something like this. All of us can do a lot of what he did and get great results. The problem is, we have to do the work and stop comparing ourselves to people.
@Harmon McCraw agreed.. now i've not even put that much effort into it but despite that by just watching anime and such i have picked up alot of japanese.. just basic things sentences like how are you or hi mi name is this
Not trying to minimize his progress because learning Spanish for 20 days and reaching the level he did is very impressive in and of itself! I feel that "speaking" and "being fluent" in a language are thrown around too often though on UA-cam without really paying too much attention to the actual competence required to call yourself fluent. At level B2, you are considered to have a "basic fluency", and while you'll still make grammatical mistakes, you will need to be able to discuss a wide range of topics with a native speaker at this level. Anyone who has learned a language knows that during the initial period of learning a foreign language, you seem to progress rapidly as you see yourself go from 0 to being able to have a basic conversation in that language. It's going from B1 to B2 that takes far more time and then going from B2 to C1 that seems to take an immense amount of time. Speaking about learning languages is a pretty common topic for polyglots when they're proving their skills and for good reason! It's a topic that comes up quite often with native speakers and it's why many have reached a 'fluent' level in terms of discussing their language learning journey. It was a huge shock to me when I learned my first foreign language. I felt so confident speaking about a select few topics (e.g. how and why I learned Portuguese, my background, etc.) and then when I arrived in Brazil, it was incredibly humbling to see how few topics I was actually fluent in. I wish that more UA-camrs that claim they're fluent in a language actually provide proof (i.e. a certification) because that's a pretty big claim to make. It seems to discourage a ton of language learners who haven't made nearly the same amount of progress speaking Spanish for a few years, for example. It's fairly easy to appear fluent in a select few topics, prepare your script, and then upload a video speaking a number of languages. Sorry for rambling ;)
@@trapped_monkey first of all, that's not what I am at all. Second of all, I made that video like a year ago. And thirdly, yes I should have been more clear in that video (see like-dislike ratio).
it's funny how his personality changes depending on the language, he's a lot more playful in spanish. That phenomenon has actually been studied. It's not perfect yet (you need to omit the pronouns a little bit more), but I'm impressed at your conjugations! That's one of the most complicated parts for foreigners and you're nailing it! Saludos desde Chile!
Me. And that's quite rare. This guy and a similar multilingual black man I see on you tube...They task me...They task me and I must pick up the gauntlet.
no not me, he's memorised a lot of common sentences and phases that can easily get by, it's impossible to be fluent in 30 days, fluency isn't just about being able to speak and understand certain words.if you told him to not speak or listen for 2/3 month and then made him translate a brand new tv show or radio show, he wouldn't understand majority of it, thats not fluent.
Im only comforted by the fact that I know FOR DAMN SURE he could never understand my Mexican friends speaking at normal speed. Speaking and understanding are different and that’s something I have to remind myself and encourage myself with all the time.
I'm a native Spanish speaker and although I recognize his Spanish is pretty good for someone that has been studying it for just 20 days, however he is definitely trying to speak very fast in order to show off his fluency...and the result is just a very strong accent that makes it difficult to follow him. he doesn't have such a strong accent when he focuses more and speaks slower. Also I think it's not realistic... he probably repeated this monologue over and over before filming and may not be able to be as fluent in a real conversation with a native
I believe you judged incorrectly. He is a high energy person and often speaks fast. He enjoys learning languages and dedicates a lot of time doing so. Its very realistic that he learned fluent spanish in 30days.
@@dylanalpers what do you expect. When you learn fast, expecially using books, pronunciation is going to be sacrificed. To have a good pronunciation you usually start learning without reading.
And many polyglots would also disagree with you. It’s impossible to learn your first language in a month but after you learn your first language or first two languages it’s pretty easy to pick up languages because you know how to study for them. That’s why polyglots pick up languages like Pokémon.
I've been studying Spanish for around 3 or 4 years and the fact that you are able to use your time so effectively to learn so quickly is incredibly impressive

I don't believe you can speak fluently in 20 days, he memorized phrases for this video and practiced it. I bet if you talk about a random subject in your kitchen or objects in detail he couldn't do it, or perfectly translate articles from El País for example. That level of Spanish is much harder. julio vazquez as a native spanish speaker, his accent is very good for 30 days. He did mess up a few conjugations, but on the topic of speaking fast, it’s just very common to speak quickly. The speed he’s speaking at is normal, and it’s what you’ll hear when you go to Spain.
@@jonny1293 it's obvious there are jump cuts, and learning a language isn't a race , but rather a marathon. It takes time. This video is discouraging to a lot of people, since they have been studying it for longer, with inferior results
Sorry guys, but this is fake. He is just reading from a script which he has memorised, so his Spanish is even more basic than it appears in this video. There is a video from December 2021 (more than a year after this video) where he speaks some unscripted Spanish with a guy from Tibet and all he knows how to say is a few basic phrases. You can't learn to speak a language that quickly, or otherwise we would we all speak twenty languages.
technically you can if you spend hours a day studying it. Spanish is a relatively easy language to learn, and for a polygot it's even easier since they're already exposed to different linguistic structures and all, not to mention, if you're already a little familiar with it, it's also MUCH easier than starting from scratch, he didn't start from scratch and he studied latin when he was younger. Besides, the whole point of learning a language is memorization, it cant be fake.. because he remembers enough to speak coherently and understand others from memory lmao. We'd all speak twenty languages if we studied them with no other distractions for multiple hours a day with previous knowlege of the language or similar languages.
Yeah, it's easy to have the talking points to be pre-established to give off the impression of seamless fluency vs. actually coming up with sentences on the spot. But as a native Spanish speaker I think he's using the language pretty well! :D
I can't help but agree, after recently becoming "conversationally fluent", it is a whole entire different level to improvise Spanish in multiple tenses with a good pace. Well done Xiao Ma, however you should be a little more honest with your presentation! Just advice from an active sub
As a Spanish speaker I think to achieve that level of speaking in just 20 days is awesome. I mean try to learn a language in 20 days do a short video of you talking about what you've doing along the weeks and not sounding weird at all. I mean yeah he has accent but I could understand everything so well. Imagine giving him 2 months to improve his accent . You couldn't tell if he's native or not. I mean it's obvious the hardwork he put on.
I can see he just learned how ro pronounce it. He could have been reading a script, but just because one can talk to answer basic questions= not fluent + the intonacion of the language sounds really foreign and not that good + no dropping of pronounds. I woulld to see this person being quizzed in verb tenses and answee talk about more in depth topics, if he can do that= fluent. I would it to see this guy or anyone that can claim to speak a language in 20 days to try it with Russian or Polish...very few of these "polyglots" really get to a foreign depth of the language, especially in Spanish, just because is easy is easy to pronunce, it doesn't mean all of these people can be called or are fluent...
You have an impressive improvement since the beginning of the challenge. BUT, it is clear that you want to sound more fluent increasing the speed of the video in certain parts. It is not necessary, It feels like you're cheating your audience. Congrats anyway 😁.
it's easy to rehearse some line before filming. Such people set unrealistic expectations for people, get the YT money and eventually end up discouraging people as they will never be fluent in 30 days,
Jamee Mangalindan 😂 You know what’s funny? I used Duolingo for a bit and felt like I was learning so much Korean, and then when I stopped I realized I learned nothing but sentence structure LOL. No vocab, no pronunciation practice, no real listening/reading practice...nada. But I could quickly put a sentence together if you told me the nouns, particles, and verbs lol. Couldn’t tell ya what it said on my own tho. 😂🤣
It's important to understand that Xiaoma has a gift for learning languages that the other 99.9% of the population doesn't possess. It comes naturally to him, and the rest of us are incapable of learning a new language to the point of near fluency in less than a month.
Want to become fluent in Spanish? 1° Change your phone's language to Spanish 2° Watch Movies in Spanish 3° View English classes 4° Download an Spanish application (Duolingo) 5° Do only research in Spanish 6° Make your room an Spanish place 7° Always see Spanish tips, if possible in Spanish If you do this you will be fluent in Spanish soon... 8° Date only Spanish-speaking people 9° Only swear in Spanish 10° Eradicate those that do not speak the language to increase exposure 11° Borrow money from a guy named Pablo 12° Say goodbye to your existing family Never give up.
I have the sensation that most people could get to a similar level within a similar, limited amount of time if the *definition of fluency* is a self-determined and edited video of jump cuts. I've seen similar language-centered youtubers like Ikenna, and there is a big difference of communication and confidence when speaking to people *in real time* to what he does in front of a camera. I would with my own experience of having learned two languages besides my native one, say that being able to speak and understand a language fluently is something so *incredibly vast* . Like being able to watch documentaries, read news articles or even write something like this without having to translate words during the process. So, please dont try to sell us a fantasy like it was the pill from the movie limitless. But I wont lie, the title is tempting, I even bought it myself. And good job/idea of learning spanish by the way, you're very good. And very useful language!
Ikr there is a big difference between being able to communicate knowing the words that make up 70% of conversations and being fluent (that I would say has an objective definition which is around c1/c2. Try understand everything being said on Chilean radio station and then say you fluent. It’s impressive, almost a little too good what this guy has done
I agree 100%, especially ikenna. I've watched his videos for a while and it started seeming like he's just memorizing the things he says on camera to make it appear he is "fluent".
fluency might be subjective concept but the actual fluency is only reached with consistency little by little day by day, without living in the specific country or having someone to talk to in that language it's slow porcess.
I agree. There’s no way he would make such few grammar mistakes. There’s a cut after every sentence practically. Seems disingenuous, albeit, what he has achieved is still impressive. The pronunciation is pretty awful and listening comprehension isn’t really demonstrated whatsoever.
A lot of youtube videos are scripted actually. He could be reading off a prompter, but If you watch his other videos, you'll know that his level of Spanish is actually about the same as this video, so even if he's reading a script, the fact that he's able to read it and speak it so fast speaks for itself. Most native spanish speakers cant even memorize or read anything this fast in their native language
@@mao3057 That's dumb. Give a Spanish speaker his script and ask him/her to practice it and I assure you they'll speak faster, pronounce better, correct his script's mistakes and they won't say "yo" every sentence
Remember, "fluent" is not the same level as mastery or native-level speaking. He speaks very well for a beginner but languages take years to master: one learns grammar, vocabulary, poetry (its form is often very different to the spoken version), slang, references/metaphors/allegories etc. You can do what he did by memorizing 200 words in any language then make up basic sentences.
@papasitoman, Fluency is not beginner, nor is it basic sentences. The DLI has Spanish, which is one of the easiest languages for English speakers as 36 weeks (9 Months) and at 7 hrs. a day, that is about 1260 hrs. of in class study. That does not include the encouraged use of the language outside of class and eventual immersion after the course. This is to reach fluency. This is one of the most intense ways to acquire a language, for actual fluency, since it determines if people can attain a career for their livelihood. This UA-camr Xiaoma would not pass an interview, nor would he be able to go to school if the medium of instruction was solely in Spanish. In Canada there is even a program for immigrants to take a course about three months long and also seven hours a day for French. That is considered just the basics of conversational language to find a menial job and not a career.
Great progress! A few pointers: -'definitivamente' means 'definitively', not 'definitely'. A better word would be 'seguramente'. -avoid using 'yo'. It sounds like you're contrasting yourself (e.g. 'yo puedo hablar' = 'I, and not someone else, can speak'). It's more natural to just say 'puedo hablar'. -Try to pronounce 'd' especially as a 'th' sound like in the word 'the' rather than as an English 'd'. What ends up happening is that since the English 'd' is pronounced with the tongue against the alveolar ridge instead of against the teeth, we tend to make it sound like a Spanish 'r' sound. So, when you say 'pude' at about 1:30 it sounds like you're saying 'pure', and this can make you a bit hard to understand.
@@nightelf4 It doesn't make any sense. Saying "yo" it's not necessary, so when you say "yo" we mostly interpret this like a way to contrast. Sometimes thats the only possible interpretation. "No sé tú Pero yo no dejo de pensar"
In a few months "Did you hear Xiaoma learned French?" "I thought he leaned French last week." "No that was Italian, that was right after he did that other video in Japanese"

There is no way that he's fluent in Spanish. He's fluent in making money from misleading videos. He's obviously reading from a teleprompter and carefully picking moments where he appears to be speaking in natural Spanish. Clickbait videos like this are heartless because they can discourage language learners from continuing to study. Learning a language takes a lot of work, time, and constant dedication. If you aren't fluent after a year, even two years, you are not doing anything wrong. It takes time.
Es realmente INCREÍBLE el nivel tan alto que has conseguido en español en tan poco tiempo. Puedes hablar muy rápido en español y se te entiende perfectamente! Congrats :3
Remember these are rehearsed, planned and edited videos. It’s impossible to learn in 20 days. Don’t be fooled by blatant lies. We don’t know if he was studying for the last 6 months and then just says oh I’m going to learn Spanish in 20 days. Talk to people who have made a career about language acquisition and they will tell you it’s impossible. These UA-cam guys will do and say anything for views and likes
You’re speaking truth! Rehearsed, planned, and edited after every other sentence. It’s literally impossible. Maybe 4 months residing in a Spanish speaking country but not 20 days being kept inside an apartment. You’re absolutely right.
Yeah, have the people watching this video actually tried to learn a language from scratch as an adult? Sorry but there is no way... at the very least there is no way he's just talking normally, he probably spent loads of time writing this video using translation on the internet and practiced most of these sentences 30 times before he was able to appear to say them fluently. If not then he has been studying for far, far longer than 20 days. I really can't stand click-bait videos like this because when people try to imitate him and see how "little" progress they have made in a month in comparison, there is a good chance they will get discouraged and quit. It's not honest.
@@danielcaban4979 In order to be fluent, you have to have a very large general vocabulary so that you are able to function in different situations. If you asked him to go to the store and told him to buy certain products, he probably wouldn't know at least half of what you're saying because he hasn't had time to acquire that much vocabulary. If you asked him to go to the store and buy some "rábanos, apio, pepinos, ciruelas, sandía, harina, bicarbonato, and albahaca" he would probably not know most of the words (maybe none of them). It's easy to learn sentences that you want to use. It's another thing to know the language intimately enough to maneuver in different situations. That's essential to be fluent. He would just be mute in most situations. Would he be able to explain how to make a sandwich? Doubtful.
Yes. I'm pretty disappointed he would use such a click-baity and completely false video title (not trying to detract from what he has achieved but be real about it)
He was already studying since the “I memorized the dictionary shit” video. This is just blatant lying. It’s already 2 months since that video. He’s been studying for 60 days claiming 20. What a joke this guy is.
He memorized all of it, sure he knows some stuff. But to speak like that in such a short time without it being scripted. No way. Why do people believe this kinda thing?
Lots of hispanic americans speak bad spanish to begin with. The only spanish they know is within the household and they tend to use a lot of spanglish overall.
This is very damaging for the average learners confidence. You should be telling the truth about how long it takes to learn a language. Memorizing and performing a script until you have decent pronunciation is NOT fluent, which is obvious by all the jump cuts in this video.
I slightly agree with your first point - watching someone who is good at languages getting even better at languages can be disheartening when you're still on the "I give the apple to the teacher" level. But I think the rest of your comment is a wee bit unfair - the jump cut style of editing is just a common thing in YT videos, and it's clear that he's a bloody good speaker of Spanish considering the amount of time he's been doing it. Xiaoma has the advantages of: 1 - Being VERY motivated and enthused by learning languages. After all, that's what his channel's all about and he does it really well 2 - He clearly has something of a natural gift for languages 3 - His experiences with learning OTHER languages all feed in to learning new ones, even ones that are very different. He "gets" nouns and prepositions and phrasal verbs and all that technical stuff because, to a degree, he's programmed himself as a "language learning machine" on top of the natural, wired-in, language learning skills we all have I have nothing but admiration (with a huge dollop of envy) - and his vids make me smile a lot. Which is always good!
OMG...honestly,he's brilliant at languages. That will get you anywhere in life and we should all strive to be at least bilingual. He is a really smart guy and we all are good at something. This is his gift. This is brilliant and I get such joy listening to him and honestly motivated. I applaud him. Nothing negative to be said about this guy. 😁🐺
Conversational isn’t the same as fluent... What you did is incredible, but I wouldn’t go as far as saying that you’re fluent because to be fluent, you have to be able to talk about nearly everything in Spanish.
If you said a lot of basic words in Spanish, he probably wouldn't know them. For example, if you asked him to go to the store and buy some pepinos, apio, cebolla, lechuga, pimpientos rojos y zanahorias" he very likely wouldn't know what those things are. You have to have a great base in a language to be fluent in many situations, not just topics you can control. It's still impressive how much a person can learn in a short amount of time.

Frankly speaking here, his Spanish isn't on point. He utilizes vocabulary swiftly, but his accent is far off. Not just the pronunciation of the individual letters, but the stress of syllables. Aside from that, Xiaomanyc has improved so much over the last few weeks.
FrogWithSocks facts, crazy impressive how fast he learns
It is not on point. He does a great job but definitely needs practice with pronunciation
i am a fan of this channel, but he seems to be exaggerating his fluency.

Wow!!
BTW there are hundreds if not thousands of levels to speak a second language.
all you need to know in spanish is "Hola, donde esta la biblioteca", everything else will come naturally.
My problem with speaking Spanish is I can only speak it when I'm comfortable with someone. If I'm talking with friends or family, I'm fine. But as soon as a stranger approaches me I suddenly forget everything.

Wow, my brain sure does feel like a molded potato right now.

A moulded potato could be ‘fluent’ if all it took was reading one pre-written sentence at a time.

Besides, the whole point of learning a language is memorization, it cant be fake.. because he remembers enough to speak coherently and understand others from memory lmao. this was obviously choreographed and edited beyond belief..
Exactly. And bet he can't understand much when Spanish speak with each other. It's another level of comprehension
Such people set unrealistic expectations for people, get the YT money and eventually end up discouraging people as they will never be fluent in 30 days,
What sources did you use? This is actually insane dude.
DuOLiNgOoOoOo
Jamee Mangalindan 😂 You know what’s funny? I used Duolingo for a bit and felt like I was learning so much Korean, and then when I stopped I realized I learned nothing but sentence structure LOL. No vocab, no pronunciation practice, no real listening/reading practice...nada. But I could quickly put a sentence together if you told me the nouns, particles, and verbs lol. Couldn’t tell ya what it said on my own tho. 😂🤣
He has a very high iq
It's important to understand that Xiaoma has a gift for learning languages that the other 99.9% of the population doesn't possess. It comes naturally to him, and the rest of us are incapable of learning a new language to the point of near fluency in less than a month.
harv7s tralosik Plus he has an extremely high level of motivation to learn.
Want to become fluent in Spanish?
1° Change your phone's language to Spanish
2° Watch Movies in Spanish
3° View English classes
4° Download an Spanish application (Duolingo)
5° Do only research in Spanish
6° Make your room an Spanish place
7° Always see Spanish tips, if possible in Spanish
If you do this you will be fluent in Spanish soon...
Never forget "The secret of success is never giving up".
8° Date only Spanish-speaking people
9° Only swear in Spanish
10° Eradicate those that do not speak the language to increase exposure
11° Borrow money from a guy named Pablo
12° Say goodbye to your existing family
Never give up.
I'm so glad I'm not the only person thinking this whilst watching.
He is definitely good at languages but this looks staged. I mean he probably prepared the speech and learnt it by heart.
Yea and he says he achieved fluency lmao
I speak Spanish. I saw your challenge about a month ago. I’m so impressed!!
He’s not even fluent it’s fake lol
@@maxegui7309 something tells me you didn't read the post
Thanks for letting us know, now please.. learn spanish in a month and get back to us
I heard you need 1000 words for a basic conversation so...
A few pointers:
-'definitivamente' means 'definitively', not 'definitely'.
En vez de "ha mejorado mi español", yo diría "he mejorado mi español".
nice tips never learnt those
@Blue Knight wow that's oddly similar to Korean pronunciation
Saying yo is perfectly normal, I’ve never heard d as th that’s doesn’t make sense.
@@nightelf4 It doesn't make any sense. Saying "yo" it's not necessary, so when you say "yo" we mostly interpret this like a way to contrast. Sometimes thats the only possible interpretation.
"No sé tú
Pero yo no dejo de pensar"
The only Spanish I know is "Hola, Soy Dora!"

"I thought he leaned French last week."
"No that was Italian, that was right after he did that other video in Japanese"
hello.. if you want to practice spanish whit me agree my facebook valdessilvadanielf@gmail.com i am learning english... only send me a message ;)
hi sorry for being annoying but... As a language learner, sometimes we need support from people. And many times its hard to find this support in our family or friends. So I created a discord server for all language learners: discord.gg/8MN8Xz5uXA
I hope you will find it useful and we can all help each other ❤️ Thanks if anyone is joinin
Congrats :3
desgraciadamente está leyendo de un guión....hay un video de 2021 en el que no tiene guion y sólo saber decir unas frases basicas
Didn't really say how he learned. Just talk to friends. Sigh. No memory techniques?
He learnt a lot from tutors via Baselang
I've been learning for 3 years and I'm at your same level and it took you 20 days... ahhhh
@@AmazingJunkie I'd assume he lives in the US because he's learning Spanish. Also looking at his videos I think he lives in New York.
@@AmazingJunkie What does that even mean? How has he studied for more than three years?
This guy is not human he speaks better Spanish than my cousins (they were born in the US but they're still Hispanic)
He probably memorized what he said and had a visual aid while speaking
@@lezui I'm Spanish and his Spanish is not basic. Intermediate level
He memorized all of it, sure he knows some stuff. But to speak like that in such a short time without it being scripted. No way. Why do people believe this kinda thing?
Lots of hispanic americans speak bad spanish to begin with. The only spanish they know is within the household and they tend to use a lot of spanglish overall.
yeah but he still had some knowlegde he wasnt starting from zero.
This is very damaging for the average learners confidence. You should be telling the truth about how long it takes to learn a language. Memorizing and performing a script until you have decent pronunciation is NOT fluent, which is obvious by all the jump cuts in this video.
Someone sounds jealous
Give him credit he’s on 20 day learner
@@nihow06 I bet you feel bad for the rabbit after the magician makes it disappear. Where did it go?
I slightly agree with your first point - watching someone who is good at languages getting even better at languages can be disheartening when you're still on the "I give the apple to the teacher" level. But I think the rest of your comment is a wee bit unfair - the jump cut style of editing is just a common thing in YT videos, and it's clear that he's a bloody good speaker of Spanish considering the amount of time he's been doing it.
Xiaoma has the advantages of:
1 - Being VERY motivated and enthused by learning languages. After all, that's what his channel's all about and he does it really well
2 - He clearly has something of a natural gift for languages
3 - His experiences with learning OTHER languages all feed in to learning new ones, even ones that are very different. He "gets" nouns and prepositions and phrasal verbs and all that technical stuff because, to a degree, he's programmed himself as a "language learning machine" on top of the natural, wired-in, language learning skills we all have
I have nothing but admiration (with a huge dollop of envy) - and his vids make me smile a lot.
You clearly learnt how to speak Spanish from talking with Spanish people. You move your hands around a lot just like us 😂. Well done
Conversational isn’t the same as fluent... What you did is incredible, but I wouldn’t go as far as saying that you’re fluent because to be fluent, you have to be able to talk about nearly everything in Spanish.
Give him 30 more days. 😂🤣
He still has yet to learn slang, and sayings. We Mexicans have lots of those.
Dont buy it
Those who know what it takes to get to this level know that this is not possible within 30 days. It means he is a liar.
