In this tutorial we're going to draw from this drawing that I've made. Just to make it simple, so we can all follow along. What I'd like to do is, in Illustrator we're going to go to 'File', 'New'. Pick a document size, I'm going to start with 'Print'. I'm going to use 'US Letter', I'm going to use 'Landscape'. I'm not going to change anything else, just going to click 'Create'. I'm going to save it, so I'm going to go to 'File', 'Save'. What we'll do for this class, is I'll put everything on my Desktop, you do the same. I'm going to make a new folder on my Desktop. I'm going to call this one 'Illustrator Class Files', and that's all. We're going to stick everything from this class. Let's call this one 'Sleeping Fox'. Let's click 'Save'. Let's leave everything as the default.

Hey! New subscriber here. If I draw a rectangle with no fill and done. How do I give it the double line effect by drawing another rectangle perfectly around it, again with no fill...
EDIT: In case someone has the same problem, I found the solution: change Essentials to Essentials classic and the tool should work.

2 years later, but if you're still looking, go to "Window" at the top toolbar and make sure "properties" is ticked

How to get the properties panel? From 2018 properties panel was introduced!
I'm stuck at scale and stroke and effects,since I don't have properties panel. I'm currently using Illustrator 2015
Abit late maybe but, on the top bar Effect>Distort and Transform > Transform and check the box there for scale stroke and effects
