This unlocked a childhood memory for me! I think the hedgehog + mitten art piece is related to the children's book "The Mitten" by Jan Brett. It's about a hedgehog and some other forest animals cuddling in a mitten to keep warm.

My guess is you drew the hedgehog after reading The Mitten. It’s a Ukrainian folktale about a lost mitten becoming a cozy home during a snowstorm. Highly recommend acquiring a copy for Mini-ME’s library. It’s a beautifully illustrated book and a lovely story. I have fond memories of my brother reading it to my niece on her first Christmas.

The hedgehog is adorable! Such a fun idea to take every aspect of the childhood drawing and incorporate it subtly in the new one. I'd love to see you do a spin-off video/series some day in a sort of "recreating my toddler's art work" style. I know she's only a baby now, so art might be a long way off, but could be fun, even if it's just trying to find sense in scribbles.
Although it sounds like a really fun idea now, it could have issues for her kid down the line. My mom used to redo my artwork as a kid and it made me fully lose confidence and interest in art. I thought I couldn't draw for the longest time until adulthood

If you set the image to multiply and colour under it, you can colour over the lines as if you have lineart. The same works if you set the colour layer to multiply and colour over the image. It's really helpful when trying to decide colours!

Did you read Jan Brett books as a kid? She had multiple books with mittens and hedgehogs with gorgeous illustrations. Her books often even had a decorative borders like your old drawing :D
