Honestly this nerdy side of weightlifting ruins it for a lot of people. Train how you want but I honestly think all the stuff they are talking about will make minimal difference and just confuse people. Imagine if we did this with combat sports and made every aspect of it into a science essay. Keeping it simple will be better for most people.
And when I was a beginner, I hated that. I felt overwhelmed with all the super specific tips that 99% of people don't do and it's killing your gains and it's the reason you don't see results and blablabla
Imagine a world in which "fitness influencers" decided to stop calling exercises good or bad, everything works until it doesn't. Imagine being an "influencer" touting a BS degree and repeatedly calling exercises "stupid" when they are being programmed by a coach with the same degree plus a doctorate in the same field. Oh yeah, and Dr. Mike teaches sports performance... in a college... you more or less just called the Professor dumb... Fitness is a young industry and the research is constantly changing, read your research and understand how certain exercises apply to different sports... stop putting out negative information. Stop shitting on other professionals, as the great Joey Swoll said "you need to to better."
To an extent range of motion, eccentric control, and a stretch is good. But I feel like Mike really takes it to an extreme where it isn’t helping much.
It’s simple, this kinda stuff is only necessary for professional bodybuilders trying to maximize everything. For the vast majority of people, the standard exercises with proper form will do just fine.
5:35 "His upper and mid back round" Well that's what he wanted to do, and when he extends his hips it also gives the lats a mechanical advantage to extend the shoulder and retract the sternoclavicular joint. Also we shouldn't be talking about back injuries given the lack of evidence or consensus in the PT world!
I used to respect mike a lot but recently because of all the controversy and roid rage his lifting advice is starting to fall off like almost a year ago his advice and things that he said were very true and effective but not now
Nonono that rounding back causes injury is a myth at this point. Ofc If you go to fast to heavy but thats about it. Your SE has to be trained in evry range kf motion.

Fr, it’s so unnecessary and i don’t think anybody actually does this super crazy exercises. Imagine sacrificing 50% load, just to do half ahh yoga.
only if your attention span and IQ match that of a 9-year-old.
pathetic
Also, this shit gay . Just lift heavy with good form consistently over a long period of time, its literally that simple.
And when I was a beginner, I hated that. I felt overwhelmed with all the super specific tips that 99% of people don't do and it's killing your gains and it's the reason you don't see results and blablabla
There are people soecializing in breaking down combat sports into long essays, so it can be broken down to you in a simple manner
Martin shitting on Marlon = banger
They over complicate everything 😭
Why do people even listen to Marlon lmao, “oh muh PhD” guy doesn’t even know how to diet for a show
Nah, it was his tan
Imagine being a UA-cam troll that has nothing better to do then shit on people that are bigger than you.
I use to get the bid stretch on my seated rows, but I realized it was an assisted toe touch.

Eric Janiki is a super nice guy, but he’s definitely the epitome of an “exercise philosopher”, as are guys like Mike Israetel and Milo Wolf
Eric was completely gassed out after doing the deficit rows.

Rarely do I agree with what you say and how you present but this is one of those rare occasions that I 100 percent agree with what you said.
That’s bc you have a lack of discipline so when him and his brother tell you the truth it hurts your feelings.

Lovin The Long Form Martin!
Has anyone actually tried any of these exercises? I have, beefy pump. u fellas should experiment with it before being so critical
Pump probably came from the tempo and doesn’t necessarily correlate to muscle growth

Where is the angry and energetic Martin man? I miss him getting mad about everything and constantly shiting on people.
Martin is usually more chill no?
He does in shorts, in longform he's just a chill guy
