The smart nerdy kid in my class grew to look quite good and started studying med at the same uni as i do, in the 4th year she passed away from cancer. 😔
A friend of mine was exceptionally intelligent. But she loved me, not so smart, me😅. I remember her having a real problem when the teacher made her write out the equation rather than just writing down the answer. Her brain would have serious trouble just slowing down enough to write down each number and symbol. For the first time in our friendship I felt sorry for her. Loved the poetry!
I was pretty smart, but he was smarter. I had a crush. He had type 1 diabetes. He died a couple of years after high school. Our class set up a small scholarship in his name. He had wanted to be a doctor. Alas that he didn’t make it. He would have been a good one.
@@bekkakay8573 Thanks. It's been quite a long time since then, but around graduation time, it is often in the back of my mind. We've lost a few more classmates since then, but he was the first.
Starting to think students who are in things like AP classes or gifted programs should get inrolled in therapy to teach them healthy coping and mental health maintenance techniques even if they are ok at the moment.
