My daughter who's at the poverty line has been waiting for her 10k tax return and they keep sending her a 60 days notice. When one expires she gets another and their telling her that they don't need anything from her but she's gotta continue waiting. It's disgusting what the IRS does to ppl.

Standing is not in the Constitution. Courts are REQUIRED to educate all case and controversy. They have to take cases! Standing if just a bullshit way for them to avoid doing their job.

I think that they have incorrectly use standing to dismiss cases they were afraid to take.
But all courts use standing. Imagine a lady who I didn't know had McDonalds hot coffee burn on her lap, giving her burn injuries. She sues for millions.
I see the story in the news and decide to sue McDonalds because I think what happened to the lady was wrong.
It will be thrown out because I have no standing. Without standing the courts could potentially get backed up over nonsense. I could also see big Corporations using even more ridiculous lawfare to stifle upstart competition. So even more frivolous lawsuits.

The whole concept of "standing" was invented by the court. In my opinion to avoid cases they don't want to touch instead of doing their job.
The idea of standing needs to be revisited.
There are obviously cases where the idea makes sense but there are many others where it does not allow people affected by the actions of other people to sue to get justice.
I hope people tell the next GOP president to take care of this so that the power goes back to the people.

Right? The whole point of a court is to have competing positions represent their position in antagonism with each other. Surely this is something like a rule from the bench in a situation where instead the defence has to argue in favour of a motion for dismissal on the grounds of lack of standing, the prosecution given a chance to argue against that motion, and the judge is responsible for consistency of their decision with the prevailing interpretation of the laws in question in regard to the suit as a whole, and whichever decision the judge makes; the aggrieved party gains right of appeal against the decision as a result of it having been made.

@@WellnessWizdom the lawsuit seems reasonable but it likely won’t go anywhere. There is a reason why the Supreme Court wouldn’t take the cases from 2020 even though multiple states found that their elections were ran unconstitutionally. Nobody wants to rock the boat any further than it is.
If we accept that each state is allowed to break their own constitution or will create new laws to target political rivals that impact federal elections, then we really are not much of a country anymore. We just haven’t woke up and realized it yet.

I live in Jefferson County Missouri just south of St. Louis and have noticed more foreign people in the stores and restaurants, than I have in the last 10 years. I have lived here all my life, and you can tell the overflow or people. Was in Wal-Mart last week, and there were so many people walking around with translators on their phones, asking workers or other customers, where stuff was.

Ian’s point on if we don’t have a regulated education system one school may teach 2+2=3 while another school teaches 2+2=4 and he fears this won’t allow us to communicate. This is absolutely absurd because for the last 3 to 6000 years there hasn’t been a universal education system in any past civilization and they were able to communicate without a problem. In fact they were able to communicate with other nations that had different languages.
