I’m a bit confused on the subject. I understand that Dessing is used to control sibilance during the mixing stage. But if you’re mastering one file and you use a DS, wouldn’t that impact the entire song and not just the vocals?
hi! how good is Weiss Deess in the production/mixing stage? or is it unusable because of latency and can only be implemented during the mastering stage?
Hey Bogdan! Thanks for watching! It's designed for mastering, but in the settings you can switch it to a low latency mode which makes it suitable for mixing. SageAudio.com
When mid - side de essing do you recommend keeping pro q 3 on zero latency. Or would you recommend natural phase in the mastering situation? My guess is to not use linear for this purpose. So zero or natural. I see zero on the video but wondering if natural would be betting for de essing in master?
Hey Taze! When mastering I like using Natural phase. I use zero for the videos to avoid latency, but natural has a more pleasing sound to my ear. SageAudio.com
One engineer to the other, thank you for this!

I know now why they say mixing and mastering are two totally different worlds.
Thanks for watching! The processing and how it's used is definitely different
