    Hi Ariel! Great tips for skin care ! You are spot on to mention gut health being related to skin issues . I'm a licensed Acupuncturist, and in TCM, the two are directly related. One tip for men who need to shave every day - I use witch hazel for aftershave, no alcohol, so it won't dry out my skin. Thank you for another great show :-)

    I use castor oil, mixed with lotion as a skin cream. Alone it can be quite sticky. It’s great though, you will notice a difference in your skin. I too am super sensitive to chemical lotions. I think most red heads are. Which is good! Our livers have to filter all of that out. Not good for a healthy liver. Your living the dream!

    Antiperspirants and deodorants (even the natural ones) are linked to breast cancer because they interfere with axillary lymph nodes natural function. Wearing a bra too tight can have the same result because it blocks lymph flow from the breast. When you get your hands into chemicals (bleach or whatever) what's absorbed through your skin moves into the lymph system and has to move through the arm to the armpit and into the thoracic.circulatory system in order to be eliminated by the body, This can take 6 weeks if you have a healthy lymphatic system, longer if you're lymph is thick with toxins. I haven't used any type of deodorant since before 2006. I also don't shower every day, but wash with a wet washcloth on dry skin (a more comfortable version of 'dry brushing') which stimulates lymph flow, especially in the armpit / axillary and groin / inguinal. [There are videos to teach you how to do this most beneficially.] Perspiration is a combination variously of fluids, toxins (cause of odor) and minerals. Body odor is normally an indication that you need to detoxify the lymphatic system. We are exposed to many chemicals in the environment (air, water) that are difficult to avoid, but can be filtered. We introduce chemicals into our immune (lymph) system via absorption, ingestion, inhalation. Heavy perspiration is an indication that you need to replace electrolytes / minerals. Strong odors are produced especially as a response to drugs (prescription or otherwise), inhaling smoke (including grilling) as well as chemicals in the food, cosmetics, cleaning products, and many we're exposed to in our work environment.

      One of the reasons I don't wear bras. And avoid antiperspirants. Perspiring is a great way to flush junk out of your body!

    Thanks for another really informative video Arial.
    I dont have sensitive skin, but started to make a oat face scrub for a friend who does and now i use it myself as it's really effective. You probably know this, but if others are interested - It basically involves whizzing up some porridge oats with a herbal tea bag of something you like and et voila! Keep dry in a jar and when ready put a teaspoons with in your hand and make a paste with water. Great as a scrub or mask.
    We affectionately call it ’Face Porridge’! Xx

    great info! The skin (and everything else) is definitely connected to the colon. So many people, especially women, use products with mineral oil and petroleum (in most grocery store products). For those with oily skin who can't use coconut or olive oil on their skin - Mill Creek botanicals hand and body lotion is awesome. I've been using it exclusively since 1980. My photo here I was 48, am 62 now and people are always surprised at my age thinking I'm much younger. I don't use anything else on my face. I don't wash my face with soap, I just wash my hands with a natural soap then wash my face with clean wet hands and water, pat dry. Always being careful not to pull the skin on the face (especially around the eyes), neck or hands. Most sunscreen is crap (use zinc cream), and hand sanitizers are toxic. Most commercially made aloe juice or gel does contain preservatives and additives (always read ingredients). Thank you for sharing your videos. Dr. Bronner's vegetable soap is great for washing anything and everything.

    Great video and yes I use almost the exact same things lol. I also use a 3 ingredient facial treatment for cleansing/moisturizing: grind up to a fine powder in a blender 1/4 cup oatmeal, 1/4 cup dry milk and 1 teaspoon turmeric. Wet face with warm water, rub the powder in and let dry for 10 minutes and wash off with warm water. Store leftover powder in a glass mason jar for later. This also helps if you get a rash or bug bite to draw poisons out and soothe the sting and itch. Safe to use on pets also if they get a bug bite or heat spot. Also, my Cherokee grandfather's recipe for removing plantar or other warts: mix equal parts liquid iodine (he used green black walnut hull tincture) and sweet oil and apply to warts 3 times a day until they disappear. The fewer harsh chemicals we put on or in our bodies the healthier we will be. I love all your videos!!!

    Hi again Ariel! Double duty recipe for cooking and skin care! Great sense about using those products as edibles and absorbables with no barriers or conflicts to one's system. I use all those items but in different ways other not knowing they all could be used for skin care! I have a tip also if you might ever need it. Coconut oil is safe and excellent to use on dog ears if they have any type of ear problems or just for general cleaning. It has antifungal and antibacterial properties! Great info again Ariel! As always thx for sharing

    I must have heard wrong when you say "If you are nude here" at 17 sec in video. One hear what one wants to hear, some say ha ha. I can relate to not want to smell perfume from others or my self so I don't use it on my self. You seem to live so natural and healthy. I admire your lifestyle, naturalist or naturist or what it's called. I wish I had as much energy as you - I would set up my country house to be nearly off grid or as off grid as you.

    One of my favorite couples ever were Leon and Leona. They told me one beautiful Sunday afternoon, that they had known each other since shortly after they were knee-high to grasshoppers. When I met them, they were 90 and 90 and 1/2 years young. They remembered walking to school together when just 4 and 5. They each affirmed, their favorite person in the world was the other and neither could imagine ever being without the other.
    It was they who related to me how* to use castor oil in order to rid your property of moles, skunks, and other things wild, assuming they're exists a predator, just wild and Wiley enough, to pursue 'The Striped Rival'." Little did I know I would also encounter its attributes as medicinal marvel [the oil that is], 'til Ariel.
    *Dissolve a table-spoon of castor oil per gallon of hot water into your garden sprayer(mix thoroughly). Walk the perimeter of your land, spraying a generous swath enough to at least partially soak the ground slightly, in a contiguous band. rains will carry the mixture deeper. Moles apparently detest the appalling mixture of this foreign Nemesis oil coming within their otherwise pristine grass-roots, water, earth and mud domain, because they hate its scent or something about it so intensely that they won't come near your place. Nor will their nuisance nemesis(who considers them the greatest delicacy [the moles that is] )who regularly disguise themselves as big black dogs, who all went under a fence quickly right after someone painted it white.

    When I was little my mother would scrub my hands and elbows with vinegar and corn meal. The vinegar to restore the ph and the corn meal to remove the dry skin. Afterwards she would apply olive oil and put mittens on me. As a little one I hated it. As adult I remember it kept my hands from cracking and splitting.

    And once again you've taught me something. I do already use mist if the same things as you do, but the castor oil is new to me. As far as deodorant, I use a salt stone. They last forever, are natural and last forever. Thanks fir all the great tips you give all the time!

    Thank you Ariel! 👌 I found that video very helpful and informative... to me, your skin looks fine, and to be honest, you can get away without makeup, you're pretty enough without it! I'll try a couple of your ideas, thanks 👌 I do use a commercial soap call Dove, which is more moisturizer, it has really helped my dry skin... thanks for a longer video too.. maybe you could do a video on giving Grizzly a bath lololol, that would be fun to watch! 🐶🌏💖

      My skin is pretty much fine now thankfully. Dropping wheat was the most amazing thing for me personally for eczema. I wouldn't even know I have it any more. I've had no symptoms at all for almost 5 years now. Hearing someone else say that is what first inspired me to try the whole "crazy avoiding wheat thing." I thought, well, I've been trying different things for years and nothing has made it go away, why not just try the no wheat thing for a month? I can always just say that didn't make any difference and go right back to normal life. But a month later, with no skin issues, less brain fog, less congestion, less intestinal issues, etc, I was pretty sure I'd never go back! I doubt you'll see a Grizzly bath video, I don't bath her. If she gets really muddy or something, I'd rinse her off, but nothing other than that. Just like me. :)

    Thank you, Ariel. It took me a while to realize that what I was putting inside my body was popping out in psoriasis due to dairy and wheat intolerance. I can tell that whatever you are doing is making you glow from the inside out. Great to see! I don’t wear makeup either and prefer a healthy skin glow. Great suggestions on this video. I use apricot kernel oil on my face instead of soap and make a soothing face and skin cream with organic beeswax, honey, olive oil and comfrey that grows like crazy on my property. New subscriber here. Love your channel!

    Great video, I missed it somehow! I am wheat, grain, legume, sugar, fruit (except berries, lemons and limes) and processed foods free. I was dairy free but found I tolerate hard cheeses and butter or ghee. Took awhile to figure it out. I still have a diet abundant in amazing foods but feel sooooo much better and at 63 no longer have aching joints and am a lot lighter than I used to be as well as free of diabetes. If eating clean helps internally it makes sense to use non toxic products on top and I agree with the soap and body wash. I use hypoallergenic shampoo(organic) for my hair however, tried no wash but my hair just wasnt having it lol Thanks for the break down!

    I also dealt with ezema. Been using cal ben soap for two decades now, great stuff. Also I found a bath salt that has shea butter and almond oil. My usually dry skin in the winter is not any more because of it.

    Oh my goodness! I am so excited to hear about caster oil and helping eyelashes &brows (just looked it up) to grow! I have been through chemotherapy twice. My last treatment was just over 2 years ago and my lashes are 2-3mm long (my hair is fantastic!). Mascara's make my eyes itch and lashes fall out, not that they are long enough to be able to use it, that's been an issue for years. My eye brows have always been light and few & far between. So much so someone thought I shaved them off. So when I leave the house I always fill in my brows. (I hate wearing makeup). I'm trying this!!

    💜 this so much! I do a few of these already. It is nice to learn a few new things too. I sweat more than any woman I know, allways have. I have found that I have to use something when I'm going to be around people. I use Native brand deodorant now. It works and doesn't irritate like other brands I've tried. Your smile in this video is great. You can tell you are passionate about this subject. Thank you for sharing!!!

    My skin care is similar to yours, but I do use essential oils as well. But I don't use shampoo at all. It takes 2-3 months to get past the greasy stage (I did it in a season where I wore a hat all the time) but after that you only need water for your hair too. Feels so free! And is cheaper.

      I'm curious, is your hair naturally dark, light, thick, fine, etc? I tried the no shampoo thing for quite a few weeks and think I should love it since my skin has been fine with no soap for many years. But it never seemed to get less greasy and I also got a really itchy scalp. But I'd love to go water only there too!

    There are doctors (MDs) that say that we tend to take too many showers; use too much soap on our skin, washing off the 'good'guys' and our natural protective barriers. Before I retired it was a shower every day and I would not have changed that; now I choose to do less of that without bad effects. Also, I switched to a glycerine bar soap for body and hair; mostly because it's simple and I like it.
    WRT deodorants, I havent used an anti-perspirant in decades, but deodorants, yes. For me, work was always that stressful situation you talk about. Personally, I think that the more one uses a deodorant the more one needs it. Probably a deodorant kills the good as well as the bad guys on our skin. Our bodies then need time to normalize. Nowadays, I only use deodorant when going to town once or twice a week. Just not required.
    I don't have the links handy but I have checked all the above info on-line.

      Baking soda as a deodorant works perfectly for me. No odor for days. Just pat some dry baking soda on damp underarms. (Of course, get pure baking soda!)

    I was a fruitarian for around three years until I suffered the consequences, in meantime however even the nastiest smells you would think a human could produce only came out as a mildly pleasant strawberry shortcake scent. Now, I like to make a lentil stew that is heavy on the garlic, curry and cumin but oh brother, I don't use deodorant either. Cumin has got to be the worst at getting pushed out of your pores so it goes to show that you don't have to be eating garbage. I find surfing in saltwater all morning helps but I might try your baking soda and coconut oil.

    Wow that is so amazing you have rid yourself of eczema!! I know it can be debilitating, you have sorted that problem for yourself with flying colours, your skin looks terrific, well done Ariel!! Today I purchased from our local discount chemist two natural deodorants to try, yes aluminium and other words I cannot pronounce is something to be concerned about, I'm hoping they do the job.. both my husband and I work around the general public, so deodorants are a must, but I have to admit I do use perfume too, makes you wonder whats actually in those too, oh dear! 🤔 when I reflect more about how people are actually conditioned to think we need this and that, just for the almighty dollar, it makes me feel annoyed, most of us have been conditioned through radio, television and different forms of advertising.. but we do have the choice to change our habits if desired!

      Thanks! I hope the natural deodorants work well. If not, I do encourage people to give the no-deodorant a try. A lot of people find that if they are eating good clean whole unprocessed foods, they simply don't have body odor.!

    I discovered last year that my lifelong eczema comes from a Gluten allergy. I never even considered the link between the two before. I cut down my wheat intake dramatically and now I rarely get breakouts.

    I love this video, and I love your honesty in this video Ariel. I wish you would consider blogging or vlogging for the women and younger girls that have self-esteem issues due to the pressure to wear sooo much make-up in today's society. I didn't start wearing makeup until my mid twenties now in my thirties I'd like to cut back. I know my skin would love to go foundation free. However, I do NOT have the confidence to do so YET. Sleep and more water is helping but nothing compares to that fresh dewy look that comes out of that bottle. Help! I am going through make-up withdrawal.

    I totally agree with you. I struggled with acne and tried every type of cleanser. Now I use no soap short of an occasional Castile soap and moisturize with the coconut oil. I shampoo with baking soda and vinegar and use a crystal for deodorant. My hair and skin are much healthier.

    Mmm....good ideas, never thought of using them things...still have a big can of Bag Balm in the mud room.
    I also use olive oil in everything and with just about everything, give's ya good hair, skin and nice(with regular brushing also) teeth, help with good HDL too. I get our soap from the pie lady( Lady at the farmers market that sells pies and home made soap)

    Great information as usual !! Can't live without my coconut oil/olive oil as well . For ms of kids , look up natural Lice removal ( sounds horrible ,but it happens with children ) vinegar and olive oil home remedy works better than any poison for lice treatment . Can't wait to see new ideas !!

    Hey Ariel, I have skin just like yours, dry, sensitive, eczema prone and super itchy, it's taken me years but like you I've found oils are my best friend. One tip I'd like to share with you is that there have actually been a few studies done on using olive oil as a moisturizer and it was found to be one of the most ineffective oils for that purpose. I don't mean to sound rude or to tell you what to do but personally I've found that switching to grape seed oil has been incredibly benificial, it's even been better then coconut which like you, I also enjoy.
    There have also been studies on olive oil where it was found to significantly delay recovery of barrier function compared with untreated skin, so that's another reason I made the switch. There's a wonderful dermatologist here on UA-cam named Dr.Dray and she has also recommend to avoid olive oil and to use a different oil. Of course you should do what works for you, I just thought I'd share what I learned because it seems incredibly counterintuitive and odd that olive oil isn't a good choice.     Edit: for dry lips I've discovered that lanolin is my holy Grail! :) I mix it with a few drops of borage seed oil and marula oil and put it in a contact lens case and pop it into my pocket. I now longer have dry chapped lips which is a huge deal for me because store bought chapstick and balms always made my lips even dryer. :)

    Ariel, thanks for your very well done and informative videos. I would like to mention that I haven’t used deodorant for many years now, probably over 15 years, due to the same facts you mentioned on this video: chemicals and the dangerous effects on the skin and system overall. If I have had to be outdoors or exercising for long hours, to prevent any odors, I have rubbed either alcohol or hydrogen peroxide on my armpits and that lasts until I get to shower afterwards. I haven’t had any problems or any negative consequences doing this.

    Most important video yet. Also try jojoba, walnut, shea butter and tea tree. Tea tree can burn sensitive skin undiluted, for me its the only deodorant I ever need once in a blue moon and a drop or 2 doesn’t burn me at all.

    I'm with you on skin issues darlin, though I admit you've run the gauntlet by and far worse than mine. Eczema, dry skin and acne for me, diet changes have made large improvements in all but the eczema. It was Dr. Bonners natural soap diluted 14 water to 1 Dr. Bonners that did the trick, I can't say enough good about the stuff as yet. For the unfamiliar Dr. Bonners is a non polluting concentrate that must be diluted with water to use properly, and it has many personal and household uses (enough of the unpaid sales pitch lol). Also for sun protection of your pretty face I recommend a "Tilly Hat", keeps your head cool by design, handmade quality, guaranteed for life and made in measured sizes (mine 7- 3/8"), designs suitable for different lifestyles for men and women. Yeah I talk a lot but I'm not affiliated with them, I like quality and made in Canada suits me fine. I'll be trying out your deodorant formula tomorrow, wish me luck darlin.

    Ariel, A lot of good information. I wished I new about the issues with eczema 30 years ago. I have out grown that now. I have heard about using coconut oil as a mouth wash, the liquid at room temperature type seems to be easier to work with.
    Also I have found that cleaning the hands after working with paint or grease from engines is to use spray cooking oil like Pam. It will clean the hands well and not leave them dried out.

    The use of the olive oil reminds me of the Roman or Greek use of olive oil after the bath. They would use a stergil to remove the excess. Had you ever thought of having a sauna or a sweat lodge? It is sort of a social thing because of the heat, not the sort of thing you want to do alone because if you get overly baked it usually ends in cold plunges which i thought i would never do, but after a sauna it is really good. You could roll in the snow or take a cold plunge in the brook in summer. It does get all the toxins out of the skin and you can burn a little sweetgrass to get a nice scent. I grew up with a bunch of Finns, but now live near a bunch of Salish or Kootenai or Hidatsa.

      I know they are really good for you, I just struggle with the hot air. I love a hot spring or hot tub with nice cold air to breath, and have gone from those to jumping in the snow.

    Thank you. There are many alternatives to deodorant - milk of magnesia, zinc oxide powder mixed into any oil or lotion for applying. Then there is bentonite clay mask (wash off after 20-30 min), and probably best - a teaspoon of activated charcoal powder in the water, taken internally. I stopped using shampoo about a year ago. I just use very warm water (filtered, since our city water can irritate my scalp all by itself), and rinse with herbal tea. My hair actually looks better than before. I do use soap just on sweaty parts, but now encouraged by your video, I might stop that too. :)

      If you can do the no soap in your hair, I'm sure you'd be fine with your body! I'm jealous of that. I've tried several times to go totally free of any kind of soap in my hair since it does work so well for my body, but even after giving it several months to adjust, it just stayed greasy and nasty looking. So I use a bit of shampoo (usually a natural bar shampoo) right in the front when I wash my hair once a week or so. I'd rather go to just water for that too.

      We are all somewhat different, but maybe herbal rinse does it then? I just use a handful of any kind of herbs, that i have the most of. Just be warned, that burdock root dedoction gives me big curls. At first when hair dried, it was stiff looking, which freaked me out a bit, but after I brushed it, I had fancy looking hair, people asked me where I have had it done, LOL. I was my hair once a week or even less. I could go months in terms of looks, but I wash it because of the dust and chemicals in thew air.

      Hmm, that's interesting about burdock root. My hair only has a hint of a wave, a bit more when it's really humid, and totally strait if the air is really dry. So I don't imagine big curls would be my result, but it could be fun to try!

    Good info. I'm with you on the deodorant issue. I did find a good all natural one that actually works for those tense times, it is called Alvera all natural roll-on deodorant. I and my daughter find it very effective.

    I don't feel so alone now .. I had to wait all my life to develop and Auto Immune disorder , so pretty much for the past 15 moths i have hornets (so it feels like ) attacking me off an on.. Small blisters around 4mm-6mm. 7 bits of my hide has been cut off at different times and sent to the lab so it could be read and a label attached to what i have .. Really fun stuff .. No cure .. High tec axle grease to rub on the spots every day.... That's my adventure with skin care.. great video , you always explain so well everything you do..

      That sounds miserable! I'm so sorry. Not trying to be nosey, but have you ever worked with a naturopath that knows a lot about diet? It seems from what I know, and my own personal experiences, that most skin issues can be cured, or at least disappear with a change to diet.

Once i had spoke with a Naturopath about diet, as i eat the same, have the same terrier , live in the same house , am careful about my food ... I had a list of foods that i spoke with my Dermo about as he knows yes or no on foods also.. With in a week the hornets came on me and have not left.. When it started i looked at everything , clothes , food, bedding, laundry soap.. One of several things i did know it was not bug bites.. Dr. could not find out what it was so i was shipped off to a Dermo and it went from there... Yes it is miserable ... And it was many many hours of research on the internet along with all the information my Dermo gave me.. That was really one of my big questions , what can i change for food/diet to help this condition ?...Thank you for your concern that helps ...So difficult to explain it to folks who ask what happened ..

      I'm not a doctor. But I do know that sometimes things can build up over time. A very good friend of mine had always been strong and healthy and eaten anything he wanted well into his 50's. Then suddenly, he started feeling terrible all the time. Not skin for him, more gut/bloating/indigestion/etc. He went to multiple doctors and they all said he was fine, they could find nothing wrong. After having some ice cream one night (again, something he'd been eating his whole life) and feeling like he needed to go to the ER from the pressure in his chest, he decided to just try quitting eating some things. After dropping dairy and wheat, all his issues disappeared again. I think most doctors are well meaning, but unfortunately in America anyway, have not been given hardly any training on nutrition and how diet affects people's health. So they just don't know.
      There are specific diet plans (Whole 30, GAPS, AutoImmune Protocol) that gear toward systematically removing for a limited time the things that people most commonly have intolerances for or don't digest well to help you determine what may be an issue for you. One of those may be helpful to you. You can google tons of info on any of them. I've personally never gone through any of them, just experimented with eliminating one thing at a time from my diet and seeing how I feel after a month or so of that.
      I do know everyone's bodies are different and different people have reactions to or a hard time digesting different things. So if one thing doesn't make a difference, personally, I'd experiment with dropping out some other stuff one at a time. I know that's no scientific controlled study, and they can be useful and all. But you can't make me care that something statistically doesn't make a difference for me, when I've done it and feel better. :)
      The book Wheat Belly - amzn.to/2ESLi6P might help explain some of the particular reasons why it has become a problem for a lot of people. Like I said, I'm not doctor. But I know it made a difference for me and other's I know of. I thought it sounded crazy, but figured why not try it? It's just a month. That won't hurt me. . Dropping wheat was the most amazing thing for me personally for eczema. I wouldn't even know I have it any more. I've had no symptoms at all for almost 5 years now. Hearing someone else say that is what first inspired me to try the whole "crazy avoiding wheat thing." I thought, well, I've been trying different things for years and nothing has made it go away, why not just try the no wheat thing for a month? I can always just say that didn't make any difference and go right back to normal life. But a month later, with no skin issues, less brain fog, less congestion, less intestinal issues, etc, I was pretty sure I'd never go back!
      No dairy really improved congestion and digestion for me too. I am not as strict as I should be. But I do know when I eat mostly veggies, some clean meats, fermented foods, good real fats, fruits, little refined carbs, and no sugar (this I struggle with most) I feel great.
      I do find health, nutrition, and the human body fascinating to learn about! And constantly listen to/read books, blogs, podcasts, etc. from doctors and experts on this topic in general. Here's a few that I'd encourage everyone to listen to or read. I really hope everyone chooses to learn and be responsible for their own health, not just trust "experts"/government agencies to have their best interests in mind.

The human body is complicated and I don't think any one person knows everything about it, but there are some pretty consistent principles all these things/people/doctors/studies seem to support, and it's kind of hard to argue with the theories when you look at people like Mark Sisson (marksdailyapple) and see his health and appearance at his age. And I'm sure there's other good resources out there, but these are the foundation of much of what I've learned.

      Thank you Ariel.. I just finished reading your reply and the reference material you suggested i wrote all that down... All my life i have never had a skin disorder until 15 months ago..
      I don't eat a lot of bread , perhaps 2 slices every other day , and i eat whole wheat, i'm careful about what i buy and read labels ..
      My Dr was at a loss after the tests he had done which is why he sent me off to a Dermo so tests could go further .. I did find pictures of different degrees of what effects me and other people suffer from ..
      Some a lot worse than i have , some people look like a lizard with their entire back covered in scales .. oh my god...
      I have nothing like that , mine is small blisters, 4mm-6mm that leave little brown spots once it goes away.. Face , neck, scalp it's months for just one to go away , as i keep track of the progress every day , and it's like magic , 8 months later the spot is gone , now 2" over from that spot is a brand new one.. here we go again...
      I'm not overweight my last physical i was 4 pounds under .. With my list of food in hand i have went over everything i eat more than once.. I don't buy red meats as i don't eat it .. Turkey or chicken for the most part and i like soup even in the winter /summer or hot weather..
      I do like real chocolate mainly the dark and in the evenings i like a 2-3 pieces of that .. Walnuts or Cashews almost every day i eat a handful of ... Chips i buy one bag a month which takes me an entire month to eat.. Natural popcorn i make too.. I eat real butter not the yellow axle grease .. Every single day i have fruits, yogurt, juice and one orange .. Ritz crackers every 2-3 days with peanut butter and Guda cheese sometimes mixed in with a sharp cheese ...
      What i eat is really pretty simple ... Potatoes oh small red potatoes and no more than three of them is all i want and that's only 2-3 times a week...
      Rice and beans off and on but not really set in stone every week...
      I thank you so much for all the help and information you listed , now i have a lot to look up and read ...
      Health food stores or all natural foods , i did have quite a chat with the folks a couple of times there of items i could try that may help.. It was a long list of items one lady had picked out for me to try...
      But i'm like you so that i don't erase evidence , it's one change at a time otherwise i would have no idea of what helped my condition , so far no change of the Hornet attacks just fewer now , like one or two in a week ...

      Hmm.... Though you might have an allergy or intolerance for a particular food, it certainly sounds like the S.A.D. (standard american diet) is not your problem. I know you said you're in the same house and all. Is there any chance that house had developed mold over time and you are reacting to that? Just trying to brainstorm for anything I can think of. Or by chance does your home have a lot of cedar? It sounds crazy, but I knew one guy around here that over time developed an allergy to the logs his home was made of and had to build an entirely new place. But his symptoms were more respiratory system stuff than skin. I know laundry detergents all irritate my skin, but it sounds like you looked at that already.

    Wow, your story is so similar to mine, unbelievable. I got the mittens as a baby as well, scratching myself, eczema back knees and elbowpits, the constant 24/7 itching. I'm using Zwitsal oils and bodylotion ment for babies, the rest of the stuff only makes it worse. I use a very overpriced ointment for my face from Biodermal (like you, the face is much oilier than the rest of the body) So yeah, long story short, I'm going to try your recipe out, if I can find the ingredients on this side of the pond, I'll let you know the results.     I also had severe eczema as a child, in fact I had it from infancy to about the age of 20. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to cure myself through natural means and was effectively cured by modern medicine (immunosuppressants). However, natural remedies stop it from coming back and diet plays a huge part; enemy number one being sugar. In my opinion, when it comes to skin, the worst 'internal' issue is excess sugar. For instance, I went a little crazy this Easter (as I do every Easter, lol) and my skin has been dry and ruddy (sugar generates heat in the body, which is just plain bad), but since returning to my normal diet, my skin has improved. And yes, I don't touch any chemicals either, just a fragrant free, milk-based soap for hygiene purposes. Sunscreen, however, is the bane of my existence. I have fair skin and live in Australia, where the UV index can been in the mid-teens in summer and is only ever 'low' in the cooler months. 5 minutes in the sun in summer is enough for me to flush red and burn, which means I can't really escape the use of sunscreen if outside for more than 20 minutes. The key, though, is using sunscreen without fragrance and nanoparticles. No fragrance means you're less likely to have an allergic reaction and no nanoparticles means you're not absorbing god knows what right into your bloodstream.

    An interesting video. I wish I had spent more on sun protection when I was younger and spent whole weekends on the beach. I have had three skin cancers removed from face with scars as long 3 inches. Now I have 2 more, as big as thumbprints, one on my forehead and one alongside one ear, both will probably need skingrafts to close them up. I rarely use products on my skin, can't stand the feel although I recently started using aloe ferrox to treat rosacea - haven't seen any improvement yet. Your channel is one of my favourites - always look forward to seeing what you are up go 😊

    Diagnosis: Skin , mid upper chest , Biopsy: Deposition of IGG and C3 between Epidermal Keratinocytes , pattern diagnosis of "Pemphigus Foliaceus"....

    From all the dermatologists and oncologists says...sunscreen is very important in melanoma protection....especially if you are not working outdoors on daily basis and can get burnt.
    People who works outdoor all year round and get suntan slowly starting from spring.... have lower chances for melanoma...than people working in offices
    Vit D is also important...but as important as avoiding sun burns..

    One thing not mentioned in this video is your skin ecology. Everyone has thousands of species of microbes living on their skin. When your skin ecology is intact you wont smell or need anything extra on your skin. If you chronically put things on you have disrupted and eliminated many necessary microbes that will cause you to smell.
    When switching to a non deodorant life give it a week or 2. By not using soaps especially harsh chemical soaps your body can provide a healthy habitat for all the microbes we need to be healthy.

      Steven Cupples many if not most soaps especially those not made with natural and mild ingredients can permanently change the microflora of your skin and certainly reduce species diversity for the mid to longterm. We have become too clean and reduced our microflora to levels so low that many common diseases have been linked to this. I doubt “biological products” due much if anything. Advice from an ecologist.

    Great info as always! Have you looked into and natural sunscreen alternatives? Ive tried raspberry oil but its kind of expensive

      Not too much. I do know coconut oil has a very light SPF rating, but I've not tried others.

    I do have a question if you don't mind me asking. I didn't see you mentioning using corn starch and baking soda for controlling body odor and underarm moisture .
    What do you think of corn starch and baking soda for body odor and control of underarm moisture. dd

      I did mention occasionally using baking soda, I try to avoid most corn products due to the way most corn is raised and genetically modified.

      Yes I knew that you had mention using baking soda that's why I was asking about the corn starch. I know it is terrible how our crops are being treated with, nothing grown on the big commercial corporate farms has any social responsibility or concerns on the products that they raise and sell to public/world, it's all about the money and nothing but the money and we pay the price for their greedy corporate practice. dd

    Hi Ariel. This is so timely as I am fixing to go off grid and do not want to complicated my life by taking a myriad of chemicals with me. I was told Dr. Bronner's soap was good to use as a shampoo, but it leaves my scalp dry. Can I ask what you Use? Your hair is so beautiful. Love what you do,and thank you.

      I know a lot of people love Dr. Bronner's but my hair is so fine I find the same thing with it feeling a little harsh and drying. I mostly use shampoo bars. Even this little trial kit lasts forever, but then I usually only wash my hair once a week or so. amzn.to/2HcIlQI And as a plus, no bottles. :)

      I mostly use shampoo bars. Even this little trial kit lasts forever, but then I usually only wash my hair once a week or so. amzn.to/2HcIlQI And as a plus, no bottles. :)

    I don’t use deodorant as well. However, if I find I smell a little, I will just rub some lemon juice under my armpits. Just do not do it if you have a wound of any kind.

    Ariel do you ever add essential oils to these skin oils? I actually have all theses items and I try to use all natural products on my skin...the castor oil on on my eyebrows ,they are rather sparse. I also never wear deoderant except when I'm going to be in stressful situations,which is rare,and I rarely have oder bcs of my whole food plant based diet. Btw your skin is lovely.
