as someone without cable this is the best thing that’s ever happened to me
its ez now, with all the services. but before "cord cutter" we were just "pirates". private torrent sites, ghetto ass home media servers, good times.
Exactly 💯
napster was everyone's 911
Full episodes of John Oliver!?
In this economy!?!
Thanks Obama.
the man is still getting things done
It's pronounced Obamuhna, I learned that on Troth cential
that is so funny.....bravo
Nothing makes you miss the Obama days more than hearing "thanks Obama"
0:39 Gaza: Horrific
Some things never change
And they have the nerve to say everything happened after october
That was the first thing I clocked, too 😅
“Well, I’ve got awful news for the past”
War, war never changes.
And some things change for the worse.
Update: Gaza: Genocide
John Oliver and his staff should do a quick 5-10 min piece per episode of each season "10 years later" to see what changed in the last 10 years on the subject.
Why, just go find the matching episode made in the last 3 years.
@@notme232 there isn't always one
@@theteob689 I know, but it's kind of depressing how many matches there are......progress is slow
"quick 5 min piece" lmao do you have any idea how much research that would take. making it 5 minutes doesnt reduce the research it just increases the editing
Last decade tonight. I like it
"People don't want to pay for it on the internet"
Yup. Thank ye kindly for posting these episodes.
S1 E13 (aired August 3, 2014)
Once again, thank you for you service!
Í was so confused. o.O Thanks
Is this when this was first aired?
Wow, the shit we used to be worried about almost feels optimistic compared to where we've gone since then.
"Gaza: horrific" he says, in the intro. Still true, worse now
Me binge watching all of season one: “Wow, I really have been here with John Oliver since the beginning.”
We've all aged so much
@@jenelaina5665 I wasn’t saying it in that regard to age us all. Just didn’t realize that I had started watching the show at its debut. Lol.
@@TheTenthDoctorandHisTardis I keep thinking "Ah, I remember this." and then realized I've been watching this way longer than I thought.
@@iyeetsecurity922I realized the same with many of them, but I don't know if I saw it on HBO or a past UA-cam clip.
Almost 10 years later... Gaza is still in the shit, Argentina is basically defaulting and the Port Authority stills sucks... Damn, that's crazy
The real abomination is the fact this law came back. It's so damn disgusting.
the debut of the multiple opening "welcome" words
I'm from Argentina and i must say, god how i miss 2014, we were so much better than now...
Why has the “…and now this” segment stopped? Watching old shows showed me how good they were.
Moreover! How is it that "How is this still a thing?" is no longer a thing?
That's just too paradoxal for me to handle!
They have it just about every episode, they just dont appear on youtube. UA-cam only gets the main story:(
Strange how the headlines are 10yrs old and over 1/2 are still relevant.
Thank god he finally has his own show! And they dropped the whole first season at once! ❤
😂😂😂
Great to see all these old episodes!
These really should have an "original air date" tag...
It literally says season 1 episode 13
@@frandawg5713 That's literally not a date.
Check the description
@@sportscaryungredAh, they listened! 👍 It was not there before.
Thank you for releasing the entire first season from a current HBO subscriber! 🧡💛🧡
that offhand comment about Gaza being horrible just helps drive home how long relative to personal awareness that Israel's been keeping an entire country as an open air prison while systematically stealing their land and killing their people. What makes it worse is that it's been happening for more than twice this one's life to date
These reuploads have shown how much this show has taken a toll on Johnny boy
"an Argentine tradition as grand as the tango, hiding Nazis, and *hating* this accent"
“Banner Ads”, it’s weird when a past bad thing becomes a fond memory.
Never ever heard of their port authority till now😂
✍️ Do…not…visit…Port Authority.
Thanks for that!
I do not want to talk to the newscaster that asked how specifically his necktie could kill me? I feel like that conversation would end with me gasping for air and dumped in a ditch.
I’m surprised more people didn’t clock that. It’s very…personal.
Wow that Ebola joke had the secret punch line that we’re still saying nothing about Gaza, the real catastrophe
I miss pre trump John Oliver, I miss pre trump everything
25:30 "12 year old girl inside me empowered by that song" so true.
Lmao that joke about Tyler in college burning the U.S flag
Looking back from 2024; ahh, simpler times 😂
Such sweet summer children we were. 🥰 No idea of what's to come ☠🤡💩
Would be really great of them to add the production date to the discription.
“I want y’all to be real careful in here: this place is full of pickpockets, pimps, and murderers and child molesters and thieves.”
“That’s the Port Authority’s slogan”
I forgot how funny that was. It feels really good to rewatch a 10 year old series and be entertained again.
9:34 CELEBRITIES USING OUTDATED REFERENCES - 30 Years Too Late, John! lol
3:30 one of the darkest chapters in American history, at that point
29:16 Ryan "Mr. Diet Coke" Cooper appears to have gone on to star in at least two Hallmark Christmas movies. Good for him!
Related: I love that these uploads include the full credits (something sadly omitted from the copies I may have watched in first run).
Wow. Uganda just re-enacted the anti-gay law last year. Crazy another episode that didn't age well.
“Yeah, I’m thinking I’m back”
First
How dare you besmirch the greatness that is the oatmeal raisin cookie? They are genuinely my favorite cookie. Oatmeal raisin over chocolate chip any day.
Oatmeal raisin isn't inherently bad, but the issue is that it _looks like_ oatmeal chocolate chip at a glance. So you bite into it expecting that sweet hit of cocoa and get... dried grape.
@@GSBarlevwhich is a good thing
Trump,Trump, Trump, Trump. Tearing my hair out.
John Oliver---someone who cares, someone with a brain, someone with a sense of humor. Maybe there is hope.
The Celica comment hit home hard lmfao.
The Gaza thing... I can't believe it's been a problem since back then....but that makes sense to how it escalated now, in 2024
Since then? It’s been a problem for decades on end.
Don't mind me, I'm only here for "Our main story tonight".
Argentina needs to diversify they're bonds 😂😂
It's fascinating getting a look back at when sponsored content was new, because it's just been a reality for so long now that it doesn't feel weird anymore (which is, of course, the problem)
The Port Authority actually has a reputation. BAD!
All of this is still relevant!
let me just say, as somebody with autism, that financial reporter definitely has autism. no hate of course, but real can recognize real and thats as real as it gets.
That default is one year after Maxima Zorreguieta from Argentina became queen of the Netherlands with the inauguration of her husband as monarch on 30 april 2013.
Friggin hedgefunds
I’m so glad I don’t have to be the one to tell young John about glueing cheese to pizza
The US presidency has been historically capable of influencing legislation in many parts of the world, Jon. Just read about the Plan Colombia.
Hey there are no water fountains anywhere near Port Authority. Also, it’s okay for a midtown urinal, bad for a poop.
Would be great if you guys had the air date somewhere too but loving the lwt marathon
Gods, the amount of Red #40 in Moutain Dew code red would prob put me into a coma, lmao.
21:04 Anybody saying Code Red is gross has never tried it with everclear. Seriously, it's so good.
Stopped watching to go and see what happened with the Fishs Eddy lawsuit.
Am I the only one thinking, "They finally put full episodes up for free....what's in the new episodes they want to distract us from?"
Wow, Port Authority sounds like our Bus Hub in Dunedin, New Zealand. Its gross, disgusting, and needs to have police presence every few days.
That's how I feel anytime I listen to Taylor Swift or Katy Perry honestly. I shouldn't be listening to it. It just shouldn't be happening but I kind of enjoy it but I would never ever seek it out or purchase it
And now nearly all good/useful/interesting stories are hidden behind a paywall... and surrounded by advertising.
It is scary how little has changed in the last decade really.
Senator Diane "weekend at Bernies" Feinstein?
Rewatching all pre Trump news is really interesting
How dare that billionaire try to hold the most beautiful naval ship behind the Amerigo Vesspuchi
2024 here...if we'd only known where this would lead
Is this the origin of "Welcome welcome welcome"????
He tried to get away with one, then two, then decided fuck it heres 3 more in a row now please stop clapping I already know I'm great.
I don't get it, why is that a meme?
Does anyone know what ended up happening to those geckos? #didwegetthosegeckos
The Russian sex geckos? They all died. Froze to death.

Hey thats me!
Imagine being that dehydrated for weight cut and having to re up with Diet Coke
Love the theme song. What's it called?
17:16 How can _my_ necktie, kill _you?_ Well, I mean, I've got an answer to that, but I feel like it's not the one they were driving towards...
The US also back the IMF which is literally just a giant hedge fund that prays on former colonies
He looks so young.
"Isn't humanity supposed to be a lot fucking better than that?"
Sadly, some people's whole ethos for living life IS the idea of, ' You can't stop me from being an asshole, I have a right to do it if I want.', which even John admits all humans do have.
Some people just **want** to be shit heads, that's free will for you.
BuzzFeed went under a couple years ago, so I guess karma got em in the end!😊
What date was this aired?
Looking charming John
7:20 sounds like Colin Quinn to me =]
you do have a choice of who you allow advertising by.
pick your own advertiser.
Oh Oliver, if your suggesting hedge funds shouldn't be able to collect on their bonds your also saying that Argentina shouldn't have been able to borrow from hedge funds. Either way Argentina is still facing bankruptcy.
Man...the bit about Uganda did not age well, and it hasn't even been very long 😕
Also, my favorite CIA joke: "firstly, the CIA doesnt employ hitmen, so no, we cant just send a hitman to take out foreign targets. Secondly, theyre all busy."
there is nothing, i tell you NOTHING on this entire Earth that John utterly despises more than all foods and drinks that have ever existed
19:15 those are redvines
Nice video❤❤😂😂😂😢😢😮😮😅😅😊
He's sexy tbh
The us has no separation between church and state, hasn't had that since they added "under god" to the pledge. It's a theocracy.
Wait! Oliver ate a 12yo girl and she's trapped inside him?! Go to the light little girl!
(And hold your breath. Also prepare the cute eyes to stop him from flushing. Both equally important.) Good luck little princess.⁷

💨 😶🌫️ 🌱🌿 in 2024 dazed and confused that this guy from Uganda still thinks Obama is president LOL
Momentarily forgetting that I’m watching something from The Before Times
No update on the space geckos?
They died in space. Frozen, actually. Something in the life support failed. Bright side: some of the flies lived and f***ed.
@@eroraf8637 😔
im glad we moved past the need for "journalistic integrity", whatever that was.
Is that Colin Quinn narrating?
Its cool im mostly over it
Thank you, Uganda!
Unpopular opinion: Argentina deserves no sympathy. They fucked around and found out when it comes to not paying back their debts. I don't blame Elliott mgmt for going after their investment and trying to get their money back. It wasn't a "donation", it was an "investment" and they expected a return on said investment. Not to get paid .30 on the dollar so they'd lose a crapton of money. Also while it may be kinda nuts that one hedgefund can hold up an entire country, that just makes it all the more obvious that places have to pay their debts and not reneg on deals like Argentina did. John's take of "it should be illegal" is basically saying we should give countries a free pass to make deals and then ignore them completely without a thought for repercussions. That's NOT how the world should work...
Colin Quinn!
YeeeeeeeeeeeEEEEEAAAHAHA!!!!!!??!
VIVAVOC
“How can my necktie kill you?”
“MY necktie”…
Maybe I’m wrong, but it seems he’s about five seconds from garroting the next person to cross his path…

No jokes about operation paperclip? So convenient ...
This did not age well......for barack obama
