I'll take cosy games over unhinged pump-everything-with-lead games. THAT was an epidemic.
Just gimme some diversity.
And don't advertise boring grinds as cozy...
I've hated the over commercialization of "cozy games" in recent years because it just feels like a cash grab, but I also really enjoyed this timeline discussion and will definitely be reading that academic journal discussed at the beginning!
Thanks I'm glad you enjoyed 😊
I am not much of a cozy gamer but I like to play minecraft in a chill farming way sometimes. I love how even on topics I personally don't find very interesting your videos still entertain me enough to watch too the end. Thanks for such quality content.
Thanks Thomas, that means a lot, appreciate you!
really well made video!! im glad this dropped into my recommended main page, Im surprised it doesn't have more views. i think you put cozy games into a really good rough description, for me they're not necessarily games where i turn off my brain but ones that have really good game loops
I love how this of all videos is the one where you act the most unhinged 😆 my favorite cozy game personally is Spiritfarer 💜
I need to play it!
Thanks for this video.. it was very cozy to listen to you :D
I love your
videos, keep it up !
Great video!
Bro can I make your new song a beat saber map
See i like cozy games/point and click games a lot more than any others ive played because im so sensitive to motion sickness. I cant even play Minecraft. Having so many more options in recent years has been a godsend cuz ive just had to watch gameplays to get my video game fill😭😭
you going through the game loop is EXACTLY why i dont find cozy games cozy. too much to do, they often stress me out
This is interesting, I was always interested in games but I don't like a lot of the things that are often considered an integral part of them - basically I hate anything that requires fast reflexes or having to try something over and over until you get it right (I particularly can't stand any kind of platforming). Weirdly though I also don't like games with too much story, or at least story told with words - a lot if the time I feel like it's taking away from the actual gameplay, plus the mood I'm in when I want to play a game isn't the same as when I want to hear a story. Having said that you can do a lot of story telling with gameplay and design.
Having said all that it seems like the games I'd like would fall under the "cozy" umbrella, but I don't think the ones I've really got into, eg Superliminal, Viewfinder, point and click adventure games, could really be considered cozy, they're just not fast and don't involve shooting things
I'm also not huge on wordy stories. I like to be able to open a game and start playing without a bunch of background. I think superliminal and viewfinder both fall nicely into exploration puzzle games, both games I really want to try!
@@tychailatte I really recommend them! I will say it's kind of funny how Viewfinder tries to crowbar the story in and make you care about it, like it's trying to have this big emotional moment and I'm just like yeah yeah get me back to the silly puzzles 😆
Just some critism chaiLatte is like saying tea tea kinda weird.
great video, clearly fortnite is the best cozy game
Nice and cozy in the bushes with a sniper.
